The pet hospital complimented how quickly the transferred documents over to them as well. Super grateful Tiffany F. They were able to fit us in on a Sunday and seem to have diagnosed our dog with what is ailing him pretty quickly and we were able to take him home the same day. We will see where treatment goes but they have a very nice and attentive and professional team and, while these visits are never inexpensive and costs escalate quickly, it seems they are reasonably priced and we’re fairly close to the estimate after initial diagnosis. My brother’s dog Max has been coming here since he was a puppy, he’s a year old now and somehow still gets excited when we pull into the parking lot. He had his neuter and gastropexy done here, and the team took such good care of him. We used to bring our childhood dog Buddy here too, and now a bunch of my friends and family bring their pets here. She has always had a fondness for animals and has had a wide range of pets over the years, ranging from cats, dogs, rats, hamsters, fish, and birds to the occasional snake and lizard. At age 10, she developed an interest in horses and spent the next several years taking riding lessons and leasing various horses. After graduating from UC Santa Cruz with triple honors and in the top 10% of her class, she spent the next few years working as a veterinary technician in a small animal hospital in Oakland. As a new veterinarian, she practiced in San Leandro and in Oakland until 2011, when her third child was born. She then took a five-year break to focus on raising her young children and opening her own business designing, drafting, and selling PDF sewing patterns for children’s clothing. Before starting ACH in September of 2022, she had worked as a small animal practitioner in a busy practice in Alameda since 2016. Dr. Thurm lives in the Piedmont area of Oakland with her husband, three kids, cat, and bearded dragon. He became board certified in small animal surgery in 2007, and started the Sage, Dublin surgical service in 2008. In 2018 he joined Northern California Veterinary Surgical. Tim’s surgical interests include all orthopedic procedures, especially challenging fracture repairs, and joint surgery. He is a member of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society, attending their conference yearly. Tim also enjoys the placement of ureteral stents and subcutaneous ureteral bypass (SUBs) systems. Tim grew up in Missouri, with his early childhood in St. Louis and later moved to Craig, MO where he attended High School. When to Seek Emergency Care for Your Pet Several situations warrant bringing your pet in for emergency care: Diarrhea/Vomiting: An instance or two of diarrhea or vomiting may not be a significant cause for concern. However, repeated episodes warrant a visit to an emergency vet, as serious problems could be to blame. Trouble Breathing: If your pet is having trouble breathing, they need immediate veterinary attention. Do not hesitate, especially if your dog or cat’s lips appear puffy. Weakness or Collapse: When a pet suddenly collapses due to weakness or seems excessively weak, it could be a sign of a major problem, such as a cardiac condition, internal bleeding, or organ malfunction. Loss of Control of Back Legs: Breeds like Corgis and Dachshunds commonly experience this issue due to spinal problems. This type of paralysis can often be cured, but only with prompt veterinary attention. We will see where treatment goes but they have a very nice and attentive and professional team and, while these visits are never inexpensive and costs escalate quickly, it seems they are reasonably priced and we’re fairly close to the estimate after initial diagnosis. My brother’s dog Max has been coming here since he was a puppy, he’s a year old now and somehow still gets excited when we pull into the parking lot. He had his neuter and gastropexy done here, and the team took such good care of him. We used to bring our childhood dog Buddy here too, and now a bunch of my friends and family bring their pets here. Every vet and tech we’ve seen has been super kind and helpful. It’s just one of those places you feel good about bringing your pets to. Jordyn S. Expected a small cost for all the love we get in return. She is recovered from the anesthesia but that cone is giving her a heck of a time. I would recommend this clinic anytime Tamy W. My brother’s dog Max has been coming here since he was a puppy, he’s a year old now and somehow still gets excited when we pull into the parking lot. He had his neuter and gastropexy done here, and the team took such good care of him. We used to bring our childhood dog Buddy here too, and now a bunch of my friends and family bring their pets here. Every vet and tech we’ve seen has been super kind and helpful. It’s just one of those places you feel good about bringing your pets to. Jordyn S. When an emergency happened with my pet prior to a regular appointment, I brought my pet in and they worked extremely efficiently and quickly with me, helping my pet get what she could there while also helping me to get them transferred to a pet hospital down the street. The pet hospital complimented how quickly the transferred documents over to them as well. Super grateful Tiffany F. They were able to fit us in on a Sunday and seem to have diagnosed our dog with what is ailing him pretty quickly and we were able to take him home the same day. We will see where treatment goes but they have a very nice and attentive and professional team and, while these visits are never inexpensive and costs escalate quickly, it seems they are reasonably priced and we’re fairly close to the estimate after initial diagnosis.
