Boost Your Self-Confidence. A more healthy, whiter, beautiful smile will not only make you more attractive, it will also boost your self-confidence, make you happier, and literally add a few years to your life. Dr. Danielle Wehle combines the latest technology with a thorough understanding of dental anatomy to give you the warm, engaging smile you’ve always wanted. Uniquely Qualified to Meet All your Dental Implant Needs – All in One Office. Dr. Wehle and Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley Excellence A Recognized Leader in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry. Cosmetic dentistry is different from general dental care; it is both an art and science. By providing cosmetic dental care, we're able to offer smile enhancement, restoration, and maintenance treatments for optimal dental health. - Dr. Danielle Wehle learn about Cosmetic Dentistry What is Cosmetic Dentistry? Cosmetic dentistry typically involves elective treatments and focuses on improving the overall appearance of your mouth, teeth and smile. Common procedures range from the relatively simple, such as teeth whitening, to more complex dental care such as implants that require specialized expertise. What are the benefits of Cosmetic Dentistry? Achieving a healthy smile is a considerable achievement but, for many patients, it’s not the end of their treatment goals. They’re seeking to improve the appearance of their teeth as well, whether that means erasing stains, closing gaps, or covering up structural damage. At Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley, we enjoy being able to improve both a patient’s smile and their self-confidence with the help of transformative cosmetic dentistry solutions. And studies have proven that a brilliant smile will boost your self-confidence, make you happier, and literally add a few years to your life. What Cosmetic Dentistry treatments are available? Porcelain Veneers For patients dealing with several cosmetic dental flaws at once, veneers can provide an ideal solution. These thin, customized layers of beautiful dental porcelain are carefully placed over your existing teeth, effectively erasing misalignments, stained fillings, chips, and general wear. Only a very small amount of tooth enamel has to be removed during the treatment process, making veneers a conservative option. Patients can achieve dramatic improvements in an accelerated timeframe. Our team won’t rest until you’re completely satisfied with your new look. Crowns At Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley, our crowns are all-ceramic, and they effectively cover areas of dental damage and replenish the structure of your teeth in a way that appears natural and lifelike. All-ceramic crowns are biocompatible as well, enabling your natural gum tissue to grow back alongside the new restoration. In addition, we also offer Zirconia Dental Crowns. Zirconia is the strongest of all-tooth-colored crown materials. It is a good choice when exceptional strength is needed, for areas of the mouth where space is tight, or for bridges in high-stress areas. Invisalign® Clear Aligners At Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley, we use clear Invisalign aligners to gently move your teeth into place. Invisalign aligners are smooth, custom-made plastic trays that you wear over your teeth. You can pop them out at mealtime and keep enjoying all your favorite foods. Then, every two weeks or so, you’ll get another set of aligners until your treatment plan is complete. Best of all, no one will know you’re wearing orthodontics until they notice the difference in your smile. Teeth Whitening Professional teeth whitening is among the most popular cosmetic dental procedures because it can quickly and effectively lighten your teeth by removing stains and discoloration and leave you with a bright, brilliant sheen. For many, a brighter smile means improved self-confidence and greater enthusiasm for living life to its fullest. Patients at Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley have the option of choosing between take-home bleaching kits, which allow individuals to whiten at their own convenience, or in-office whitening, which can yield dramatic results in under one hour. The following are the most common questions people have when investigating dental implants. This should help you determine if implants might be right for you. FAQs Learning about Single and Full-Arch Dental Implants What are dental implants? Dental implants are the most natural way to replace missing teeth. Typically made of titanium or zirconia, dental implants are designed to replace the root structure of missing teeth, providing support and stability for replacement teeth. They are the longest-lasting solution available. What does "All-on-4" mean? All-on-4® is a trademarked treatment procedure that essentially involves replacement of all missing teeth in one jaw by using only 4 implants. This procedure is especially beneficial in patients who have lost a lot of bone in the back areas of the mouth. How much does a single dental implants cost? First, here are the most commonly accepted figures: The total dental implant costs for a single dental implant to be placed and restored range on average from $3,000 to $6,000 per restored implant. The typical cost is usually around $4,500. Can you find a dentist who can provide dental implants for less? Absolutely. You can always find someone cheaper. Just like you can always find someone less skilled and with less experience. How much does a full-arch or the All-on-4 implant procedure cost? The All-on-4 also called "Teeth in a Day," procedure can run between $30,000 - $40,000. Often the total cost is financed and spread out over monthly payments, which can range between $ 300-400 per top or bottom arch or $675 for the entire or full mouth based on approved credit. What's included in the total cost of the implant procedure? Be sure when comparing costs, you compare everything involved with the procedure. Many times, an advertisement for a cheap implant does not include everything required in the procedure. The cost to cover all expenses associated with the planned treatment usually includes the following: Sedation Any extractions Removal of infected tissues (bone and gum) Implant placement Temporary and final dentures/bridges Will insurance cover the cost of implants? Generally, dental implants are not covered by dental insurance. However, policies do vary and most cover a portion of the restorative procedure. Financing options are often available with competitive interest rates, and payments can be tailored to your budget. Does getting dental implants hurt? Although discomfort varies from person to person, most patients say it was much less discomfort than they thought it would be. During the surgical procedure, you will be given an anesthetic, so you will feel little or no discomfort. When placing the implants Dr. Wehle uses gentle techniques, and because the doctor is working in a clean environment, there is little chance for infection. If you follow all postoperative instructions and take the required antibiotics, there is minimal discomfort. All patients are given pain medications, but many don't use them. Will I be awake during the dental implant procedure? You’ll be comforted to know that placing an implant is easier than taking a tooth out. Usually a local anesthetic is used, which means you are awake during the surgery. But if you’re very nervous about the surgery, you have sedative options to make you more comfortable during the operation, including IV sedation, which can put you in varying stages of consciousness. This is also known as general anesthesia and will put you into a deep sleep until it wears off. Will there be pain after the dental implant surgery? Immediately after the surgery and for a few days you will likely experience some discomfort. After all, this is a major dental procedure. However, any pain should be manageable. Discomfort may be felt in the chin, cheeks, or underneath the eyes. You may also experience bruising of the skin and gums, pain at the implant site, and minor bleeding. Painkillers, such as Ibuprofen, will be recommended. How long does it take to complete the entire process? You will typically spend up to 3 days with us, in our office. But the actual procedure is completed within a 24-hour period. Do I really get teeth on the day of surgery? You get your beautiful, functioning full arch temporary healing prosthesis. This one is different material then the final one to allow any adjustments and specifications to be made prior to the milling of your final. How do I care for my new teeth? Initially you will only use a medicated mouth rinse prescribed by Dr. Wehle. Once your mouth is healed, you will use a waterpick to clean around the implants and under the secured denture. You will also schedule regular follow up visits with your dentist for cleanings. How long will dental implants last? Implants can last many years if cared for properly. Many implants have been in place for more than 40 years. How do I know if I am a candidate for dental implants? Anyone who is healthy enough to undergo a tooth extraction is likely a suitable candidate for dental implants. However, there are certain conditions that may complicate or prohibit implant treatment. Patients with certain complications, such as chronic diseases, heavy smoking or alcohol abuse may not be candidates for implants. Your doctor will determine whether or not this treatment is right for you after a complete physical exam and evaluation of your medical history. Book Your Consultation › Why are dental implants so good? 1 Look and perform just like natural teeth Implants are permanently attached and secure. They are cared for just like natural teeth and enable you to eat whatever you like. 2 Protect your long-term dental health Implants help preserve bone in the area of the missing teeth and protect your facial structure. They prevent movement and drifting of teeth which can disrupt your bite. 3 Preserve healthy neighboring teeth Unlike other means of replacing missing teeth, Implants do not require healthy neighboring teeth to be drilled or removed. 4 Strong and long-lasting Implants are a very durable and long lasting solution for missing teeth with a success rate of over 97%. Learn more about your teeth-replacement options. Traditional Dentures A traditional denture is a prosthesis that serves as false teeth, helping to replace missing teeth. Traditional dentures can be partial or complete, pending your needs. Traditional dentures are removable, meaning you can take them out every night or at your leisure. We extract any missing or broken down teeth and provide the patient with a denture that looks and feels great. These are the most familiar type of denture for patients, and is great for those who are looking for an affordable solution. Implant-Supported Dentures Fixed-in dental implant supported dentures are not removable whatsoever, unlike traditional or snap-in dentures. These provide the closest fit to natural teeth of any denture on the market. With fixed-in dental implant supported dentures, patients need not worry about their denture ever slipping or ill-fitting — these are designed specifically to mimic real teeth and are not removable. Single Dental Implant Dental Implants are a valuable alternative to an uncomfortable prosthesis. The implants themselves are small appliances produced from titanium that serve a similar purpose to the roots of natural teeth. They are fused to the jawbone and support over dentures and dental bridges, helping them to perform like our natural teeth would. Once the implants are put in place, you’ll be able to replace anything from one tooth to a whole set with ease. Given the numerous benefits and aesthetic qualities Dental Implants offer, they have become the preferred method of tooth replacement today. Full-Arch Implants Most commonly known as the All-on-4 Dental Implants procedure. This is a type of dental implant that can be placed much faster than a traditional implant and is ideal for those suffering from complete tooth loss or low bone density. This is an immediate load solution, meaning after your initial consultation and examination, you can visit us for a second appointment, where your new set of teeth can be secured. This takes place in one day, rather than multiple appointments over the course of several months. Are You Ready To: Schedule Your Appointment? Gum (periodontal) disease is a serious condition caused by harmful oral bacteria. Without treatment, this progressive infection leads to bone loss, loose teeth and even tooth loss. Dr. Wehle and the team at Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley offer minimally invasive ways to address moderate to advanced gum disease. Uniquely Qualified to Meet All your Dental Implant Needs – All in One Office. danielle WEHRLE, DDS With laser gum therapy, we gently treat gum disease and provide a more comfortable experience than ever before! Dr. Wehle is well-known throughout California for her expertise in a wide range of dental treatments, including dental implants, periodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. With such comprehensive dental knowledge, Dr. Wehle is prepared to solve the most complex dental problems all under one roof. We save you time and money by delivering all of your care in one convenient location, without referring you out all over town. With laser gum therapy we only remove the diseased tissue within the pocket that surrounds the tooth. By using laser therapy we are able to make the healing process quicker and less painful than traditional procedures. learn about Periodontal Treatment What are my treatment options? If you've been diagnosed with gum disease, there are a variety of treatment options depending on the details of your situation and the severity of the problem. We always start with the least invasive options, which are non-surgical. However, in more serious cases, surgery may be necessary. Non-Surgical Treatment The first line of defense against gum disease is a unique type of cleaning called “scaling and root planing.” In this procedure, an ultrasonic cleaning device is used to remove plaque and tartar from your teeth where regular cleaning devices can't reach: under the gum line, on the tooth, and around the root. Then, the rough surface of the tooth and the root are smoothed out (planed). This provides a healthy, clean surface that makes it easier for the gum tissue to reattach to the tooth. If you address your gum disease before it becomes severe, scaling and root planing may be the only treatment you need. However, as with any dental procedure, after-care is vital. In order to keep your teeth in good shape and resist future occurrences of gum disease, you must brush and floss daily, eat a healthy diet, avoid tobacco use, and have regular dental checkups. Even after a successful scaling and root planing, if you don't attend to your teeth properly, it's quite likely that you'll develop gum disease again. Laser Dentistry Fear of gum disease treatment keeps many patients from seeking the care they need for a healthy smile. But with our gentle approach and minimally invasive laser technology, you never have to fear getting the treatment you need! Incorporating laser services into our treatment plans lets us provide greater comfort and better patient experiences. Our team of clinicians is ready to use their experience, advanced training, and compassionate chairside manner to restore your gum health for a lasting, beautiful smile! We feature the latest in materials and procedures, and we have made it our mission to make outstanding dental care available to as many people as possible by making it affordable and efficient. The practice also meets and surpasses all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and CDC (Centers for Disease Control) standards to ensure total patient safety. State-of-the-art technology i-CAT™ Cone Beam 3D Imaging Physicians have relied on computerized axial tomography scans (CAT) for years. Today, many dentists rely on 3D imaging scans to provide them with a detailed view of the mouth and skull. 3D scans are quick and simple to perform. A Cone Beam Imaging System is at the heart of the 3D scanner. The cone beams are used to take literally hundreds of pictures of the face. These pictures are used to compile an exact 3D image of the inner mechanisms of the face and jaw. The dentist is able to zoom in on specific areas and view them from alternate angles. We offer a state-of-the-art surgical center that includes a Cone Beam Scanner. Only a few practices in the region have this machine in their offices. What are the benefits to having a 3D X-Ray? 3D x-rays provide our team a more comprehensive view of your entire mouth which helps us locate issues that aren’t always identifiable in a 2D image. We in turn are able to coordinate treatment planning and dental services to our patients in more depth and can explain treatments with greater clarity and accuracy. Other benefits include: Lower radiation dose (less than a full mouth series of intraoral film) A quick comprehensive scan of the complete oral-maxillofacial area (14 seconds) Immediate virtual diagnosis and treatment planning in one visit More certainty during surgery Easy sharing of images and diagnostic information Waterlase MD™ Dental Laser At Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley, our Waterlase MD means no more drilling and no more needles. Instead of that awful “drilling noise” you simply hear a soft clicking. The laser gently removes decayed tooth structure and unhealthy tissue. The laser uses water droplets combined with laser energy, there is no heat or vibration. Laser dentistry is especially well-suited to the preparation of teeth for fillings, root canals, gum surgery and more, as the laser easily removes decayed tooth structure while conserving as much of the healthy tooth as possible. Very few dentists in California have this level of technology. 3Shape Intraoral Scanner We've taken the next step in the progression of delivering crowns and straightening teeth in the quickest, most advanced way possible. Our new 3Shape video scanner now eliminates the need to take impressions (molds) in most cases. This intraoral scanner literally takes a video scan of your mouth, providing highly accurate virtual impressions. The benefit is that we no longer need to put goopy stuff in our patients' mouths, often causing a gag reflex, to get these impressions. This scanner improves the patient experience while at the same time increasing the quality of the impressions we use for Same-Day-Crowns and SuperFast Invisalign services. Dental Implants | Where Innovation Meets Dental Care Excellence If you have damaged or missing teeth, you might feel self-conscious and avoid smiling as much as possible. But… it doesn’t have to be that way! If you have multiple teeth that need replacing, you may have considered dentures – even though you know they’re uncomfortable, difficult to care for, and don’t last long. Maybe you’ve been considering dental implants, but you’re just not sure if they’re the right option for you. Let us answer some questions you might have about dental implants. Hopefully, it will help you make an informed decision that you’ll feel good about – whether you have just one tooth to replace or all your teeth! First, let’s get some of the common misconceptions about dental implants out of the way. Sometimes, people think that dental implants are painful, involve a complicated procedure, are uncomfortable, require long periods of recovery, or are too expensive. Danielle WEHRLE, DDS One of the Top Dental Implant and Sedation Dentist in Silicon Valley. Dr. Wehle her team at Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley are able to diagnose, plan, place, and restore your implants from beginning to end. We have 21st century technology now that can give you back your smile and ability to eat the foods you love – just like your natural teeth. What You need to Know About Dental Implants Dental implants are a long-lasting solution . On average, they can last 25 years or longer… making them a great permanent solution for missing or damaged teeth. Dental implants are virtually pain-free and require no downtime . You’ll have zero downtime with a dental implant procedure. The discomfort level has been compared to getting a filling. While you may experience some minor swelling in the first few days, it can be easily controlled with over-the-counter pain medicine. Dental implants are better than bridges or dentures . They last longer. They’re more comfortable. And they don’t damage any of your surrounding teeth, unlike bridges. They also fit into your mouth just like your natural tooth would… while dentures have been reported to be uncomfortable and look fake. Dental implants are cosmetically appealing . They look natural and they are professionally-matched to your current tooth color, so they blend right in with your natural teeth… giving you a full, confident smile. Dental implants are comfortable . Because the appliance mimics your tooth’s natural root, dental implants are very comfortable and feel just like your natural teeth in your mouth. After the procedure is complete, you’ll forget you even have them! Dental implants are surprisingly affordable . It’s likely that your dental implants will last a lifetime. You can expect to pay only a few thousand per tooth. Most reputable practices offer affordable payment plans that make them even more affordable. And… depending on the reason for the implant, some insurances may even cover the procedure! How would I get Started ? Once you’ve decided that dental implants are right for you, you should reach out to competent, experienced dental implant specialists to set up a consultation to get any remaining questions answered. At Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley, you can start with a Free Consultation with Dr. Wehle. At this consultation, the doctor will create a customized treatment plan just for you. We want to partner with you to ensure that you can enjoy a lifetime of good oral health. Our office uses the latest dental diagnostic technology to identify and stop potential decay and damage at the earliest stages. - Dr. Danielle Wehle learn about General Dentistry What Is Dental Cleaning and Prevention? Just as you need to look after the rest of your body to look good, you need to care for your teeth and gums. When you visit your dentist for dental cleaning and prevention treatment, they will examine your teeth fully and usually take a full set of x-rays at the same time; these will allow him to see what is going on inside your gums and jaw bone. Once completed, they will evaluate the findings and put together a plan of action. This will involve you visiting the practice for regular check-ups. The treatment may include such things as: Cleaning and polishing your teeth Checking your gums Screening for oral cancer Taking X-rays Examining existing dental work What Are the Benefits of Dental Cleaning and Prevention? Cleaning and polishing – this will remove tartar from your teeth as well as plaque, which is formed from bacteria. If left in place, inflammation will eventually occur. They will then polish your teeth to make them look good, removing stains at the same time. Evaluating your gums – your gums and the bone underneath your teeth will be carefully checked to ensure that there are no problems or any disease developing. Screening for oral cancer – your dentist will check for signs on your mouth, tongue, throat, gums and even the neck. X-rays – these will allow the dentist to check inside your jaw bone and teeth for such things as bone loss, problems with development, teeth in the wrong position, tumors, abscesses, and any other hidden problems. Existing dental work – they will check all fillings, crowns, bridges, implants etc. for any damage or signs of wear and tear. Common Procedures Bonding Bonding is a conservative way to repair slightly chipped, discolored, or crooked teeth. During dental bonding, a white filling is placed onto your tooth to improve its appearance. The filling “bonds” with your tooth, and because it comes in a variety of tooth-colored shades, it closely matches the appearance of your natural teeth. Tooth bonding can also be used for tooth fillings instead of silver amalgam. Many patients prefer bonded fillings because the white color is much less noticeable than silver. Bonding fillings can be used on front or back teeth, depending on the location and extent of tooth decay. Bonding is less expensive than other cosmetic treatments and can usually be completed in one visit to our office. However, bonding can stain and is easier to break than other cosmetic treatments, such as porcelain veneers. If it does break or chip, tell your doctor. The bonding can generally be easily patched or repaired in one visit. Bridges A bridge may be used to replace missing teeth, help maintain the shape of your face, and alleviate stress on your bite. A bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. Your bridge can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain, or a combination of these materials and is bonded onto surrounding teeth for support. The success of any bridge depends on its foundation — the other teeth, gums, or bone to which it is attached. Therefore, it’s very important to keep your existing teeth, gums, and jaw healthy and strong. Extractions There are times when it is necessary to remove a tooth. Sometimes a baby tooth has misshapen or long roots that prevent it from falling out as it should, and the tooth must be removed to make way for the permanent tooth to erupt. At other times, a tooth may have so much decay that it puts the surrounding teeth at risk of decay, so your doctor may recommend removal and replacement with a bridge or implant. Infection, orthodontic correction, or problems with a wisdom tooth can also require removal of a tooth. When it is determined that a tooth needs to be removed, your dentist may extract the tooth during a regular checkup or may request another visit for this procedure. The root of each tooth is encased within your jawbone in a “tooth socket,” and your tooth is held in that socket by a ligament. In order to extract a tooth, your dentist must expand the socket and separate the tooth from the ligament holding it in place. While this procedure is typically very quick, it is important to share with your doctor any concerns or preferences for sedation. Once a tooth has been removed, neighboring teeth may shift, causing problems with chewing or with your jaw joint function. To avoid these complications, your dentist may recommend that you replace the extracted tooth. Fillings Traditional dental restoratives, or fillings, may include gold, porcelain, or composite. Newer dental fillings include ceramic and plastic compounds that mimic the appearance of natural teeth. These compounds, often called composite resins, are typically used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important. There are two different kinds of fillings: direct and indirect. Direct fillings are fillings placed into a prepared cavity in a single visit. Indirect fillings generally require two or more visits. These fillings include inlays, and veneers fabricated with ceramics or composites. Fluoride Fluoride is effective in preventing cavities and tooth decay and in preventing plaque from building up and hardening on the tooth’s surface. A fluoride treatment in your dentist’s office takes just a few minutes. After the treatment, patients may be asked not to rinse, eat, or drink for at least 30 minutes in order to allow the teeth to absorb the fluoride. Depending on your oral health or your doctor’s recommendation, you may be required to have a fluoride treatment every three, six, or 12 months. Sealants Sometimes brushing is not enough, especially when it comes to those hard-to-reach spots in your mouth. It is difficult for your toothbrush to get in-between the small cracks and grooves on your teeth. If left alone, those tiny areas can develop tooth decay. Sealants give your teeth extra protection against decay and help prevent cavities. Dental sealants are plastic resins that bond and harden in the deep grooves on your tooth’s surface. When a tooth is sealed, the tiny grooves become smooth and are less likely to harbor plaque. With sealants, brushing All-On-4 Dental Implant Procedure - Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley Dr. Wehle in Santa Clara, CA CURRENT PATIENTS: 408-984-2050 MENU Dr. Wehle Office Details Office Details Technology Dr. Videos Financial Policy Patient Forms Implants Are Dental Implants Right for You? This all-in-one solution eliminates your driving to different offices, meeting with different doctors, and receiving multiple bills. If you are about to lose your teeth, hate your dentures, or suffer from a complex medical condition, this is the answer you’ve been looking for. We have 21st century technology now that can give you back your smile and ability to eat the foods you love – just like your natural teeth. learn about Full-Arch dental implants What exactly are full-arch Implants or the All-on-4 procedure? “All on 4” and “Teeth in a Day” are terms used to describe a procedure that allows patients to receive replacement teeth in just one day. You may hear of other versions of this procedure such as “Teeth in an Hour,“ “Dental Implants in One Day,“ “Teeth In One Day,“ “Teeth In One Visit.” While they go by many names, all refer to a one-day implant treatment, which restores a full arch of replacement teeth. The All-on-4 treatment concept utilizes four dental implants to attach your new set of permanent replacement teeth in a minimally invasive way. The dental implants used in this procedure are specially designed for immediate function and typically do not require bone grafting. This treatment is attractive for those patients with dentures or in need of full upper and/or lower restorations. If you are about to lose your teeth or have many missing teeth, the All-on-4 procedure can help you achieve a beautiful smile and teeth in just one day. Unlike other approaches that involve more laborious and costly techniques often requiring bone grafting, sinus lifts, and eight or more implants per arch, which can take up to 3 years to complete treatment, Dr. Wehle uses this proven technique that involves only using four specially placed implants without the need for bone grafts and sinus lifts. Your new dentures can be completed in just one day. The end result is a solid base of teeth that are fixed in place and are not removed. It means lower costs and reduced healing times allowing our patients to regain their original youthful smile and original function faster, more reliably. The All-on-4 technique is FDA approved and has a long history of success. What is the process for getting “All on 4” and “Teeth in a Day” Implants? Four appliances are placed into the jawbone and gums and left to heal sufficiently before the implant bridge can be secured in place. Once implanted, the bridge will never need to be removed and will resemble the appearance of your natural teeth. As with all Dental Implants, All-on-4 Dental Implants are placed during an outpatient surgical procedure in Dr. Wehle's office. Most patients will want to take advantage of some sort of sedation for this procedure, in addition to the local anesthetic that will be used. Before leaving Dr. Wehle's office, you are fitted with the prosthetic arch – a fixed complete denture. After the implants have fully integrated with the bone, you may return to receive a second, stronger denture. What are the Benefits of the All-on-4 Procedure? In addition to the short treatment time frame, All-on-4 Dental Implants have a number of advantages over conventional dentures: You have new teeth in as little as just one day It’s a minimally invasive procedure There’s less pain and swelling No more ill-fitting dentures It eliminates denture adhesives Your new teeth are secure like your natural teeth Fewer dental visits are required It’s cost-effective compared to traditional implants It is a life-changing procedure Who is a good candidate for full-arch Implants? Dental implants are widely regarded as the best treatment for loose dentures. Permanent dental implants are designed to make dentures much more secure and enable you to smile, eat and talk confidently. We can assist you if you have been thinking about investing in implants. The implants act as a foundation for replacement teeth. They won’t decay and are designed to last for the rest of your life. Implants can be used in conjunction with various dental procedures to improve oral health. Once they are installed, you’re much less likely to face problems with slippage and discomfort. How do I get started? Start with a Free Consultation with Dr. Wehle. At this consultation, the doctor will create a customized treatment plan just for you. You’ll learn exactly how much the procedure will cost without having to worry about any surprise fees. And remember: a free consultation is a conversation. It’s not a commitment. Dr. Wehle is well-known throughout California for her expertise in a wide range of dental treatments, including dental implants, orthodontics, and general dentistry. With such comprehensive dental knowledge, Dr. Wehle is prepared to solve the most complex dental problems all under one roof. We save you time and money by delivering all of your care in one convenient location, without referring you out all over town. In the past, metal braces were very noticeable and could be annoying to those who wore them because of their size and intrusiveness. Today, clear aligners treat a range of teeth straightening issues, ranging from minor tooth movements to more complex cases. Whatever the issue, the result is a new, more even smile that you will want everyone to see. LEARN ABOUT your Teeth-Straightening Options Are you ready for a First-Class Smile? We offer both traditional orthodontic braces and Invisalign clear aligners for families interested in the modern orthodontic care in the San Francisco area. For more severe cases, traditional braces may be the best solution to reposition teeth as the results are predictable and time-tested. Invisalign is a great option for teens and adults, and delivers the ultimate in discretion when it comes to wearing braces. Our team creates a series of custom-made clear aligner trays, which are worn for around 22 hours each day. These comfortable orthodontic trays are changed out every two weeks for a new set, until the desired end results are reached. Invisalign aligners are easily removed for eating, and when brushing and flossing. This option is ideal for working professionals, teens and adults who wish to keep their orthodontic treatment under the radar. When should you consider Invisalign Clear Aligners? Here are some of the straightening issues that can be treated with Invisalign: Overcrowded teeth occur when there is a lack of room within your jaw for all of your teeth to fit normally. Widely spaced teeth occur when you have extra space within your jaw. Crossbites occur when the upper and lower jaws are both misaligned. It usually causes one or more upper teeth to bite on the inside of the lower teeth and can happen on both the front and/or the sides of the mouth. Deep bites occur when the upper teeth overlap significantly with the lower teeth. Underbites occur when the lower teeth protrude past the front teeth, usually caused by undergrowth of the upper jaw, overgrowth of the lower jaw, or both. Your doctor will discuss the sedation options with you so that you can choose the one you prefer and which the doctor feels is best suited to your circumstances: Local Anesthesia – an anesthetic applied directly to the area of removal Nitrous Oxide – also known as laughing gas, an anesthetic option used in congruence with other anesthetic options to calm anxiety during the procedure Sedation Anesthesia – administered through an intravenous (IV) line that allows you to sleep during the procedure General Anesthesia – an anesthetic delivered to allow a deep sleep during the procedure What are the benefits of Sedation Dentistry? Being sedated while you have dental work completed brings with it many benefits. Your anxiety will be relieved, you will be less aware or totally unaware of the procedure being carried out and your fear will be a thing of the past. Who should consider Sedation Dentistry? If the thought of dental treatment fills you with dread, then sedation dentistry is well worth considering. Whether you have a phobia or something less, by allowing your dentist to sedate you, dental treatment can be carried out quickly and efficiently. Talk to your dentist about sedation dentistry if you have problems with any of the following: ✓ A fear of dentists ✓ Low pain threshold ✓ Very sensitive teeth ✓ A gag reflex that causes problems during treatment ✓ Need to have a vast amount of work carried out How do I get started? Call a treatment coordinator at Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley to discuss your sedation options with Dr. Wehle. Implant dentures are firmly supported by a series of two or more implants placed strategically within your jaw. learn about Implant-Supported Dentures What are Implant-Supported Dentures? Implant supported appliances rely on two or more implant posts for a stable, lasting smile. These posts integrate with your jaw for a strong, stable foundation. A highly cosmetic denture appliance is attached to the implants for a natural look, feel and function. Same-day options are also available, for the ultimate in convenience. Imagine going from extractions to brand new teeth in a single visit! What are the benefits of Implant-Supported Dentures? Implant-Supported Dentures are ideal for patients seeking more affordable ways to replace missing teeth. We can also repair and secure loose dentures that have made it harder to speak, eat or smile with confidence. Implant-Supported Dentures can provide you with a more youthful appearance, supporting the structure of the face and stopping the process of bone loss. Further, they are more stable and feel like natural teeth. Plus, there is no gum tissue irritation due to dentures slipping. With Implant-Supported Dentures, all slippage is eliminated. Perhaps best of all, you will no longer need to use messy creams or adhesives to secure your denture in place. And you'll be able to clean your Implant-Supported Dentures just like natural teeth with regular brushing and flossing. Who is a good candidate for Implant-Supported Dentures? Patients who have previously used dentures but are otherwise in good health are excellent candidates for Implant-Supported Dentures. In fact, many of our patients who have been told they have too much bone loss to have traditional dental implants are ecstatic to hear that they are perfect candidates for Implant-Supported Dentures because there's no need for bone grafts or other bone enhancement procedures. About Dental Implant Costs When reviewing and comparing costs, it’s important to consider that dental implants are “medical devices” which require a larger team of dental professionals and that the placement of dental implants is both art and science. You are, in fact, buying a service rather than a product – a service that can change your life and give you permanent teeth that will last a lifetime. First, here are the most commonly accepted figures: The total dental implant costs for a single dental implant to be placed and restored range on average from $3,000 to $6,000 per restored implant. The typical cost is usually around $4,500. To replace all your top or bottom teeth with full-arch fixed implant bridges – often referred to as All-on-4 – can cost from $15,000 to $30,000 (or more) per arch. Can you find a dentist who can provide dental implants for less? Absolutely. You can always find someone cheaper. Just like you can always find someone less skilled and with less experience. DANIELLE WEHRLE, DDS One of the Top Dental Implant and Sedation Dentist in Silicone Valley. Dr. Wehle and her team at Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley are able to diagnose, plan, place, and restore your implants from beginning to end. What’s Included in Dental Implant Costs Initial Consultation The first time you meet with Dr. Wehle is extremely important. Much of the planning for the rest of the treatment will be done during the first consultation. The dentist will assess the health of the teeth and jaw bone. You will also need diagnostic imaging during this visit. Physicians have relied on computerized axial tomography scans (CAT) for years. Surgery After the initial consultation, you are scheduled for surgery implantation where the dentist will place the actual dental implants and the new teeth are fitted and adjusted. While these won’t be your final implants, you will leave our offices after this visit with beautiful, fixed, functional teeth. Follow-Up Appointment After 3-6 months, when the implants are fused to the natural bone, the dentist will take new impressions of your mouth and prepare a final, stronger, permanent set of teeth adjusted to a perfect fit. This helps ensure that the teeth will last for decades, and provide maximum support, beauty, and function to the patient. Specialist Care Dental implants fall into the category of restoration dentistry and have their own category of implantology. Implant surgery can be done by a periodontist, an dentist, or a dentist with advanced training in implantology. Because of the specialist training necessary to perform the procedure, it’s common for the dental professional to charge a higher fee than for other services. General Anesthetic Some patients may choose to undergo general anesthetic during the dental implant procedure, meaning the patient is asleep for the whole procedure. This is more expensive and requires an anesthesiologist to be present for the entire surgery. It’s more common to perform the procedure using a local anesthetic, meaning the areas the dentist is working on are numbed but the patient is awake. Some patients might be too nervous during the procedure if they are awake, and if this is a problem you should consider asking for a sedative to ease your anxiety if you'll be under local anesthetic. Bone Grafts Patients who have lost a lot of bone may also require bone grafts. Bone grafts are performed in a separate procedure, several months before the implant is placed, and will require several months to heal and for the graft to fuse into the regular bone. This extra procedure will, of course, mean additional costs. This also means you won't be able to have the procedure done in one trip since the graft will take time to grow into the bone and you need to allow tissues to heal. Material The type of material used in the crown can make a big difference. Crowns made of acrylic resin are the most affordable but don't look nearly as natural as ceramic crowns or porcelain crowns. Porcelain and ceramic also tend to be stronger, which is another reason they're preferred for visible teeth. Resin crowns are also much less durable and will need to be replaced much sooner than other materials. OFFICE in Santa Clara 1288 Scott Blvd, Santa Clara, CA Office Details and Directions › 408-984-2050 learn about dental implants What are Dental Implants? Dental Implants can be thought of as artificial tooth roots that are placed in your jawbone and become a base for supporting one or more artificial teeth, called crowns. A connector, known as an abutment, is placed on top of the dental implant to support the crowns. Dental implants are made from medical-grade titanium which provides a more durable and natural-looking root form. Given the numerous benefits and aesthetic qualities dental implants offer, they have become the preferred method of tooth replacement today. What are the benefits of Dental Implants? Dental Implants are a more modern solution for tooth replacement than dentures or bridges. They are actually the only dental restoration option that preserves natural bone and helps stimulate bone growth. Dental implants look, feel and function like a real tooth. They will not decay and are designed to last for the rest of your life. There is no slippage or discomfort that commonly happens with dentures. They also make eating and speaking easier, while improving your overall oral health. Who is a good candidate for Dental Implants? Those likely to benefit from dental implants include people who have been experiencing problems with conventional dentures or simply people who have lost a tooth or teeth. They make life easier for those that have been finding it difficult to chew and enjoy meals and can slow down the process of tissue and bone loss in the jaw. What’s more is that implants can even provide a more youthful appearance due to the way that they will give your facial structure a lift. Furthermore, they will help you to speak more clearly. However, for this implant procedure to work, there must be enough bone in the jaw. The bone has to be strong enough to hold and support the implant. If there is not enough bone, it may need to be added with a procedure called bone grafting. In addition, natural teeth and supporting tissues near where the implant will be placed must be in good health. You have nothing to lose and a beautiful smile to gain. If you are about to lose your teeth, hate your dentures, or suffer from a complex medical condition, this is the answer you’ve been looking for. Porcelain veneers are thin shells of medical-grade ceramic that are attached to the front surfaces of teeth for an immediate smile transformation. Let us help you achieve your beautiful smile today." learn about Porcelain Veneers What are the benefits of Porcelain Veneers? Veneers are a non-surgical solution to problems including tooth gaps, cracked, chipped and stained teeth and incorrectly-sized teeth. What’s more is that it is normally incredibly difficult to tell the difference between your veneers and your remaining teeth. What’s more is that is normally incredible difficult to tell the difference between your veneers and your remaining teeth. Veneers are also stain-proof. You can maintain your veneers in the same way you would treat your normal teeth. Get straighter, whiter teeth Hide discolored teeth Transform the shape of your existing teeth Make eating and talking easier Correct minor misalignment What is the process of getting Porcelain Veneers? After a consultation, giving you a full understanding of the process, why each stage needs to occur and deciding that veneers are right for you, we can add the veneers. We usually need to scrape off a tiny amount of the existing tooth surface to ensure the veneer fits properly. This provides the right aesthetics whilst giving the tooth its function back. The process usually takes around three weeks and you will normally be given temporary veneers. The temporary veneers will give you an insight into how the end result will look and feel and gives us the chance to make adjustments if needed before the permanent veneers are fitted. Once this period is over, you can expect to have bite function fully restored. The process cannot be reversed once the permanent veneers are in place. We will need to use a gel to roughen up the tooth surface and make the bonding process more efficient. We will use a light wand to send heat through the veneer to the bonding agent and remove moisture to speed up bonding before eliminating any excess cement and polishing the veneer. Who typically gets Porcelain Veneers? Veneers are suitable for anyone with slight gaps in their teeth, or cracked, chipped and stained teeth. We have provided adults of all ages with veneers in the past. A number of A-list celebrities have invested in veneers but this does not mean that our solutions are out of your price range. This all-in-one solution eliminates your driving to different offices, meeting with different doctors, and receiving multiple bills. If you are about to lose your teeth, hate your dentures, or suffer from a complex medical condition, this is the answer you’ve been looking for. What gum grafting does is it allows us to close the gap between the exposed root of the tooth and the actual part of the tooth that is supposed to handle hot or cold foods without being sensitive.” learn about BONE AND SOFT TISSUE GRAFTING Why is grafting needed? Bone and soft tissue grafts are used to restore deficient areas, thereby allowing for reconstruction possibilities that would otherwise be absent. After dental removal of teeth, the bone surrounding the missing tooth will slowly begin to resorb (i.e., shrink) resulting in a loss of both bone height and width. As bone resorbs the overlying gum tissue, you will also lose both volume and the normal anatomic form. This loss of bone and gum tissue following a tooth extraction often results in both functional and cosmetic defects, leaving an unsightly collapsed appearance. At Advanced Dental Care of Silicon Valley, Dr. Wehle takes a proactive stance on tissue preservation. Bone and gum tissue loss following teeth removal can either be greatly reduced or completely eliminated thanks to advances in grafting procedures and bioengineering. For example, following a tooth extraction, a specially bioengineered dental bone graft material is placed within the extraction socket. The bone graft material not only supports new bone growth but also has been shown to preserve bone and overlying soft tissue following tooth removal. What is the process of Bone Grafting? Grafting is a safe procedure and we can discuss your options in-depth with you before surgery takes place to ensure you’re receiving the appropriate type of treatment for your needs. You’ll normally be given a local anesthetic to reduce pain while the procedure is taking place and can opt for intravenous sedation if you need it. Once the procedure is completed, you will be provided with antibiotics as well as medication for pain if required. You will be advised not to consume specific foods to avoid putting pressure on the graft. You should be able to carry on with your day-to-day life as normal while the graft is healing. Who is a good candidate for Bone Grafting? Bone grafting is ideal for anyone wishing to add implants to their mouths but doesn’t currently have enough bone for them to be installed safely or securely. If you’re in need of a bone graft for a dental implant, contact our office and come in for a bone graft consultation.
