He cares too much about quality and is too good at what he does to waste it on those who are not going to enjoy the benefits of his quality workmanship. Andrew knows what he’s doing and he’s good at it. He’s been doing it since he was old enough to lift a hammer. He has worked hard to learn the trade and persevered to master it. Andrew listens to understand what drives clients’ needs and constraints, comes up with ideas and alternatives, and then educates them to make good, responsible, informed decisions. In our good-sized project, he pointed out several items that we would not have thought to address (e.g., smooth out the long first-floor wall, remove an old fireplace and chimney to open up the living room and deck area above, hollow out hidden dead spaces to provide additional storage, etc.) and that we are extremely glad we did! In each case, he laid out the rationale for doing something more than we had planned, gave us multiple options, and helped us think through which to follow. He shared his opinions and recommendations, but didn’t insist we do what he thought was best.
