Our 1,307closed cases resulted in economic benefits of $8.6 million. BayLegal is a worthy and unique recipient of cy pres funds. This area of law is governed by California Code of Civil Procedure Section 384. We provide free legal assistance to thousands of low-income clients each year throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. We are the only legal aid program serving all seven counties of the greater metropolitan area. We are also the only legal aid program that operates a legal hot line serving the entire region. Low-income people needing legal assistance can call the hotline and receive immediate counsel and advice on their legal problem.
