Having lived in countries like the UK, Belgium, Mexico, and the US, Keltse has embraced diverse cultures that have shaped her personal and professional journey. Though she majored in economics, her heart was always set on entrepreneurship, where she found her true passion in bringing ideas to life and creating ideas that leave a lasting, meaningful impact. Keltse received her master's degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania and has immersed herself in the most effective educational principles and practices that spark curiosity, connection, and a lifelong love of learning. Alongside Keltse on this adventure is her husband, Gio, a talented guitarist and composer with Italian and Mexican roots. Together, they’ve built a wonderful family with their two daughters, Giuli and Valeria. In raising her two daughters, she recognized the critical need for high-quality early education spaces and developed a deep desire to create something truly unique—an environment that reflects the distinct needs and values of her own family. Eight years ago, Keltse founded Big and Tiny with the vision of creating a space where families could actively engage in their children’s learning. She wanted to build an environment where education was a shared journey—one that involved both children and parents. While Big and Tiny has grown and evolved, that core belief has remained unchanged: families are integral to a child’s learning experience. Three years ago, we expanded our vision by opening our second school in New York. Last year, she was drawn to a beautiful, long-established school called 10th St., which had been home to many families for over three decades. From the moment Keltse walked through the Red Door, she felt an undeniable connection to its warm community and exceptional curriculum centered on social studies. She was particularly moved by a student showcase that highlighted a year-long study on Japan. Set in a charming 1920s bungalow, 10th St. Preschool reminded Keltse of her childhood preschool in Spain. When 10th St’s owner retired, she felt compelled to continue the school’s legacy, blending it with the Big and Tiny spirit. And so, Big and Tiny 10th St. was born. Today, we are dedicated to merging these two beautiful communities, infusing our passion and innovative approach into every corner of the school. One of our proudest achievements is the addition of a dual-language Spanish program, enriching our multicultural and diverse learning environment. To support this mission, we have partnered with the Get Together Foundation to establish the Big and Tiny Scholarship Fund, designed to provide financial assistance to families who need it most.   Currently, 15% of our students receive financial aid, and our goal is to ensure that every child who belongs in our community has the opportunity to thrive. The scholarship fund helps bridge the gap so families can access high-quality early learning, even when finances are a challenge.   Every contribution—large or small—has a meaningful impact. Gifts to the fund help children experience the joy of learning, provide stability for families, and strengthen our community as a whole.   To support the Big and Tiny Scholarship Fund and help make a difference, donations can be made here: givebutter.com/bigandtiny   Together, we can ensure that Big and Tiny 10th Street remains a place where every child can learn, explore, and feel at home. We believe childhood is not only about growing up but about growing together. Here, parents are more than observers; they are active participants, mentors, and lifelong partners in their child’s education. We understand that raising and educating children is a journey best traveled together. From the moment parents step through The Red Door in the morning, they become an essential part of our community. The connections we build go beyond the classroom. Families join us for cherished traditions like Snack and Story, celebrate milestones at holiday events, and engage in meaningful discussions during our monthly book club. Club 10 and Club 21 is our very own version of "happy hour" where parents and teachers can come together outside of school. Our Dad Band provides the opportunity to unite through music. All of these experiences foster friendships that last a lifetime. Our unique environment includes a co-working area where parents can work, knowing their children are just steps away, learning and growing in a supportive atmosphere.   We understand that separation can be challenging, and we prioritize supporting families through that transition. We work closely with parents to ensure children feel safe, loved, and confident as they take their first steps toward independence. Learning doesn’t end at school—it continues at home. We partner with families to provide the tools, resources, and guidance to extend their child’s education beyond the classroom. Our mixed-age structure allows every teacher and staff member to truly get to know each child—and their entire family. Our educators are more than teachers; they are lifelong partners in your child’s learning journey. Here, children stay with the same group of peers and educators for four years, creating a deep sense of trust, security, and belonging. This continuity helps children form lasting friendships and meaningful relationships that extend well beyond preschool. At Big and Tiny 10th St., every family is an integral part of a larger story—one of love, learning, and shared experiences.
