BRAVE YOUTH MIDWEEK | WEDNESDAY NIGHTS Brave Youth currently meets every Wednesday night at Brave Church Dublin Student Center from 6:30 pm- 8:30 pm. This is a great time during the week for Middle and High School students to come and connect over food, games, teaching, worship, small groups, and hanging out with one another. Whether you are new to faith or looking to answer some questions, no matter where you are, this is a space for you to come and spend time with one another. The night starts off together as they hang out, and then Middle and High School break off into separate rooms for their teaching and small groups. WHERE WE MEET: Brave Church Dublin (Middle School Auditorium Lobby/High School Brave Kids Building) 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM 7500 Inspiration Dr, Dublin, CA 94568 FOLLOW US ON INSTAGRAM What is Brave Youth? Brave Youth is a Movement, a movement started by Jesus 2000 years ago. Our purpose is to love the next generation, and we are a church where youth can grow, learn, and connect on Sundays, Wednesdays, and throughout the week. What time should I arrive? Service opens at 6:30 PM for students to arrive and hangout! Greeeters will greet you, and you can head to Check-in at the Brave Kids Building. If you are new you get a special t-shirt on us. What is the purpose of Youth Small Groups? Brave Youth together small groups on Wednesday nights. This is where students find community in their age range. We believe that real life change and growth happens through authentic relationships. You can’t do life with everyone, but we can create a world where everyone has someone to do life with. As students attend their group, the goal is also for them to grow through mentorships and friendships with others. Our youth together groups help to turn a crowd into a community! Small groups are broken off into grade and gender (example: 7th grade guys, 10th grade girls) Where do I drop my student off? At the top of the roundabout, students can be dropped off or park their cars and walk down to the check-in area at the front of the building. There is a greeting team at the drop-off spot. What do Wednesday nights look like? Students arrive on campus as early as 6:30 PM to hang out. We start the night by hanging out. We always have snacks and fun activities during our hangout time. Then, at 7 pm, we start our game and play together. Then the students hear announcements about upcoming events, and they get to engage in worship together. After that, the Middle and High School split into separate rooms to hear separate lessons and participate in small-group discussions. Will food be available? YES! We have snacks available at Brave Youth. We will provide small fun foods, sweets, and water. What should I do as my student is at Brave Youth? We are so glad you asked! You can find a Brave Group that meets at the same time. We care about the growth of the whole family and believe that when you and your child attend a Group, the whole family grows together. Check out our Groups HERE ! What adults are on campus during a Youth Night? We have equipped, background checked Adults who will serve as Youth Leaders on Brave Youth Nights. We also have our safety team on campus to ensure the safety of our students. Their safety is our top priority. Yea, we don’t either. That’s why we’re committed to providing your kids with a caring and safe place where they can learn about God in a way that’s appropriate for their age. Plus, they’re going to have a blast in the process. Here’s what to expect: • When you arrive you’ll be greeted by one of our greeters at the main entrance. • Scan the new family QR code at the check-in area or click the register your kiddo button above & fill out the form with your family information. • You’ll receive a security code. Please keep this security tag as you will not be able to check out your child without it. Safety is one of our top priorities here at BRAVE Kids! If we need to communicate with you at any time during the gathering, you will receive a text from BRAVE Church. Please keep your phone on vibrate and close to you. We can’t wait to have fun and learn about Jesus with you! Nursery At this age, love looks a lot like feeling safe and cared for. Babies are motivated by comfort, connection, and security. So, we plan everything with that in mind! God’s love shows up in the little moments: When hungry bellies are fed When diapers are changed right on time When tears are met with cuddles When we get on the floor and play We pray over every baby who comes through our doors and pour love into each moment. By showing up, meeting their needs, and creating a joyful space, we build trust and confidence—helping your baby experience God’s love from the very start. Preschool Your kiddo is learning to know God’s love and meet His family. We teach them this through showing up, allowing them to explore and be creative. At this stage your kids think like an artist! They experience the world through activities that stimulate the five senses. Preschoolers blend reality with imagination and learn through participation. In the first 5 years of a child’s life they form impressions about themself and the world. They are asking “am I?” questions and this shapes how a child trusts others, how confident they feel about their own abilities and how they internalize motives for behavior and self control. We keep this motivation in mind when we are planning our curriculum. Something we say around here is Brave Kids can do Brave things! We are all about building confidence in our preschoolers. Adaptive Needs Every kid should feel like they belong. We believe every child is uniquely created by God—and they should get to learn about Him in a way that fits them!Our Adaptive Needs Ministry is here to support kids of all abilities. Whether they need a quiet space, hands-on learning, or a little extra support, we’ve got it covered. Our classroom adapts to them, not the other way around.We have a sensory space where kids can explore Bible stories through movement, play, and creativity. Our trained volunteers are ready with the tools, supplies, and heart to make every child feel safe, supported, and celebrated.Because every kid deserves to know: You are loved. You are gifted. You belong here. Elementary Your kid thinks like a scientist! What does that mean? It means that in the classroom we get them interacting in activities with hands-on projects that make the Bible come to life. We help them to learn how to apply their faith in everyday life. In the elementary phase they are motivated most by fun. They don’t want to be bored, their brain is wired to learn best at play. They will pour their energy and time into anything that is fun! This is important to remember when you are wanting to grab their attention or focus, fun earns you the next 5 minutes of their attention. We keep this motivation in mind when we are planning our curriculum. We want them to have fun when we teach them about God, because then they will focus on God and what they are learning. THE ESSENTIALS OF WHAT WE BELIEVE  About the Bible. The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6, Proverbs 30:5 About God. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 45:6-7; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:1 About Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the incarnation of the second person of the Trinity. Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless human life, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to overcome sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22,23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13 About the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives gifts to believers to be used for the mission of Christ. As Christians, we seek to live under His empowerment and direction daily. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18 About Human Beings. People are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character and carry out His mission in the world. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1,2 About Salvation. Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. We live our lives as children of God, disciples in the body of Christ, extending His goodness to every nation. Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:2; Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1 About Marriage We believe marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s relationship with His Church. It is the only biblical context for sexual intimacy and procreation, and it provides the foundation for family life and discipleship.  Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Ephesians 5:31-32; Hebrews 13:4  About Eternity. People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life with Him on the new earth. Al and his two sisters immigrated from the Philippines when they were young kids. Laura was raised in Montana and came to the Bay Area after college. They love supporting local SF restaurants. At that time Jesus came from Nazareth and was baptized by John in the river. -Mark 1:9 2. Because Christ commanded it. Jesus said, Go then, to all people everywhere and make them my disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. -Matthew 28:19-20 3. Because it shows you are a believer. ...many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized. -Acts 18:8 4.  Because obeying Christ's command shows you know Him. We know that we have come to know Him, if we obey His commands. -1 John 2:3 WHAT IS THE MEANING OF BAPTISM? 1.  It is a symbol of Christ’s burial and resurrection. Christ died for our sins...he was buried...and he rose again. -1 Corinthians 15:3,4 For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ. -Colossians 2:12 2.  It is a symbol of your new life as a follower of Jesus. When someone becomes a Christian he becomes a brand new person inside. The old life has passed away and a new life has begun! -2 Corinthians 5:17 By our baptism then we were buried with Him and shared His death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead also we might live a new life! -Romans 6:4 Baptism does not make you a believer, it shows that you already are one! Baptism does not “save” you, only your faith in Christ does that. Baptism is like a wedding ring—it’s the outward symbol of the commitment you made in your heart. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith...it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. -Ephesians 2:8, 9 HOW ARE WE TO BE BAPTIZED? 1.  Like Jesus was baptized – by being immersed in water. As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water... -Matthew 3:16 2.  Every baptism in the Bible was by immersion under water. “...then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water...” -Acts 8:38, 39 3. The word “Baptize” literally means “to dip under water.” The Greek word “baptizo” means “to immerse or dip under water.” 4.  It is the best way to picture a burial and resurrection. Great Leaders of the Church… Martin Luther... “I would have those who are to be baptized to be entirely immersed, as the word imports and the mystery signifies.” John Calvin... “The word “baptize” signifies to immerse. It is certain that immersion was the practice of the ancient church.” John Wesley... “Buried with Him, alluding to baptizing by immersion according to the custom of the first church.” WHO SHOULD BE BAPTIZED? Every person who has made the decision to follow Jesus Christ. Those who believed and accepted His message were baptized. -Acts 2:41 But when they believed Philip as he preached the Good News...and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. -Acts 8:12, 13 Simon himself believed and was baptized... The one requirement for baptism is belief in Jesus Christ! We do not baptize children until they are old enough to understand and believe.  WHEN ARE WE TO BE BAPTIZED? There is no reason to delay. As soon as a person decides to believe in and follow Jesus they can be baptized. Those who believed...were baptized...that day! -Acts 2:41 Then Philip began with the Scripture and told him the Good News about Jesus. As they traveled along the road, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, ‘Look here is water! Why shouldn’t I be baptized right now?’ Philip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ The official answered, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’ Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. -Acts 8:36-39 (paraphrase) WHAT ABOUT BEING BAPTIZED TWICE? Our church recommends that you be baptized again if you have not been baptized at an age old enough to have had a meaningful and memorable experience with water baptism.   CAN A CHILD BE BAPTIZED? Yes! If children are old enough to fully understand the meaning of baptism, and has personally placed his/her trust in Jesus Christ for salvation, we encourage them to be baptized.   WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Yea, we don’t either. That’s why we’re committed to providing your kids with a caring and safe place where they can learn about God in a way that’s appropriate for their age. Plus, they’re going to have a blast in the process. Here’s what to expect: • When you arrive you’ll be greeted by one of our greeters at the main entrance. • Scan the new family QR code at the check-in area or click the register your kiddo button above & fill out the form with your family information. • You’ll receive a security code. Please keep this security tag as you will not be able to check out your child without it. Safety is one of our top priorities here at BRAVE Kids! If we need to communicate with you at any time during the gathering, you will receive a text from BRAVE Church. Please keep your phone on vibrate and close to you. We can’t wait to have fun and learn about Jesus with you! Nursery At this age, love looks a lot like feeling safe and cared for. Babies are motivated by comfort, connection, and security. So, we plan everything with that in mind! God’s love shows up in the little moments: When hungry bellies are fed When diapers are changed right on time When tears are met with cuddles When we get on the floor and play We pray over every baby who comes through our doors and pour love into each moment. By showing up, meeting their needs, and creating a joyful space, we build trust and confidence—helping your baby experience God’s love from the very start. Preschool Your kiddo is learning to know God’s love and meet His family. We teach them this through showing up, allowing them to explore and be creative. At this stage your kids think like an artist! They experience the world through activities that stimulate the five senses. Preschoolers blend reality with imagination and learn through participation. In the first 5 years of a child’s life they form impressions about themself and the world. They are asking “am I?” questions and this shapes how a child trusts others, how confident they feel about their own abilities and how they internalize motives for behavior and self control. Adaptive Needs Every kid should feel like they belong. We believe every child is uniquely created by God—and they should get to learn about Him in a way that fits them!Our Adaptive Needs Ministry is here to support kids of all abilities. Whether they need a quiet space, hands-on learning, or a little extra support, we’ve got it covered. Our classroom adapts to them, not the other way around.We have a sensory space where kids can explore Bible stories through movement, play, and creativity. Our trained volunteers are ready with the tools, supplies, and heart to make every child feel safe, supported, and celebrated.Because every kid deserves to know: You are loved. You are gifted. You belong here. Elementary Your kid thinks like a scientist! What does that mean? It means that in the classroom we get them interacting in activities with hands-on projects that make the Bible come to life. We help them to learn how to apply their faith in everyday life. In the elementary phase they are motivated most by fun. They don’t want to be bored, their brain is wired to learn best at play. They will pour their energy and time into anything that is fun! This is important to remember when you are wanting to grab their attention or focus, fun earns you the next 5 minutes of their attention. We keep this motivation in mind when we are planning our curriculum. We want them to have fun when we teach them about God, because then they will focus on God and what they are learning. Samuel serves as the Lead Pastor, providing vision and teaching across our campuses in San Francisco, San Ramon, and Dublin. A fourth-generation pastor who grew up in Northern California, he’s passionate about making faith real and relevant, especially for people navigating life in one of the most innovative and fast-paced regions in the world. Marcy is our Central Kids Pastor, overseeing kids ministry across all Brave campuses. She’s known for building strong teams, creating environments where kids thrive, and caring deeply about the families in our church. Her passion for raising up the next generation, and supporting the parents who are doing it, is one of the things that makes Brave such a vibrant place for families. Together, Samuel and Marcy are raising four daughters and one baby boy—Mia, Julianna, Elia, Bianca, and Leonardo - learning (in real time) how to lead with purpose, parent with grace, and stay present in a fast-moving world.
