TOMMY Lots of trucks coming inbound to unload and then we are loading trucks to go to stores, so there is a lot of forklift traffic. JOSH They want you to do your job fast. They want you to do your job effectively, but they also want you to have fun when you do your job. ELIUD So from a culture standpoint, we have partners not employees because we want to seek their feedback. NANCY When I started working here, I thought it was going to be like any other job, where they just like okay you are just another worker, but not here. Here they treat you like family. BRAD My favorite thing about working at Home Depot is just the opportunity to grow. When I first got here that was what I’m seeking and I’m experiencing it and at this point the sky’s the limit for me. SHANTA The scheduling here, it is consistent. They have full-timers they have part-timers. CAM I love the schedule. The hours, the time we come in, the time we get off. It’s flexible. I still have time to do things in the afternoon and in today’s economy, you want to have a job you know is going to be there. They are not getting ready to go out of business. TOMMY I’m thankful that our leaders at the top are looking to the future and aren’t just being complacent and stuck in where we are. They’re looking to what needs to happen next. Our teams perform preventive and corrective maintenance on warehouse facilities and equipment to ensure our distribution centers run safely and efficiently. By maintaining critical infrastructure, these associates minimize downtime and support the smooth flow of products to our customers. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) What is the Warehouse Maintenance Associates (WMAs) or General Maintenance Associates (GMAs) job? A General Maintenance Associate (GMA) is responsible for the general facilities maintenance of our Warehouses. Ensuring that distribution center facilities remain safe and functional. Responsibilities include general upkeep tasks, such as painting, HVAC filter changes, and regular dock equipment inspections. This position also supports daily operations through minor forklift maintenance, including battery changes and accessory checks. What is a Maintenance Technicians (MTs) Job? A Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment at the distribution center. Maintenance Technicians focus on the major areas of our warehouses like forklifts, conveyor systems, and facility support systems. Does a General Maintenance Associate (GMA) need to be certified or trained in maintenance? While formal certifications are not required, General Maintenance Associates (GMAs) should have the ability and interest in learning general maintenance practices and prioritize safety in the workplace. Is the work schedule consistent? Yes. Supply Chain Maintenance associates have a consistent schedule that allows for planning time and activities outside of work. Are there any overnight shifts? BRYAN C. Yeah, I do a little bit of everything. I work on plumbing, I work on electric, paint, shelving. OLIVIA P. We make sure that the whole building has what they need, such as supplies, lift equipment. BRYAN C. Show up, clock in, I speak to my supervisor. We go over a list of priorities and get busy going out into the warehouse and working on what needs to be worked on. OLIVIA P. We’ll take care of little projects. We do sometimes have to use the scissor lift or the boom lift, and that’s when we’re replacing signs or putting up signs. One of their most important responsibilities is assisting customers. In some warehouses, they schedule deliveries, handle orders, and serve as the main point of contact for customers. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) What is the GOA’s job? A GOA is often doing clerical or admin work in most warehouses. In others, a GOA is also in charge of tasks such as partnering with stores, processing appliance orders, contacting customers to schedule deliveries, and arranging driver pickups. Does this role require heavy lifting? While our warehouse associates generally unload and stage products, the GOA is often cross-trained on equipment in case we need extra help. Is the work schedule consistent? Yes, a GOA has a consistent schedule that allows for planning time and activities outside of work. Are there overnight shifts? SHARAE B. My day to day, I am at the computer a lot. FARHRDA A. I like the fact that I learn different things as far as the system goes. CHASITY G. I’m over Customer Experience, so my main goal is to make sure that our customer is satisfied from the selling point all the way to when the freight reaches their home. KEVIN S. Going through customer orders, sorting through them, figuring out the best tactics to give it out to the staff members, so that we can complete it in a timely manner. SHARAE B. I track the production and I keep the leaders updated on the production of the different associates. REYNOLDS A. We have office associates who make calls to the customers who, for the most part, stay in the office, but then we have coordinators outside. TICHARD C. We call the customers, just to let them know, like, “Hey, we have a delivery coming out to you.” We deal with a lot of contractors, so we try to make sure that we have a pinpoint of where the address is, because sometimes it’s no mailbox or anything, so we just make sure that the delivery is smooth all around for the customer.
