◈ Homepage — https://www.churchinsf.org/Skip to Content Church in San Francisco Menu “He is Lord of all and rich to all who call upon Him.” Romans 10:12b The church in San Francisco isn’t our name—it’s our description. We hold the faith that is common to all believers (Titus 1:4; Jude 3) and simply gather as Christians in San Francisco, choosing not to meet in any name other than that of the Lord Jesus Christ. We receive as our brothers and sisters all who believe in Jesus Christ, and we also warmly welcome guests and visitors who are not Christians. Grow in your faith with a free study Bible and free Christian books. Order yours today. Our Belief The Bible The Bible is the complete divine revelation inspired word by word by God through the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16). The Triune God God is uniquely one, yet a Trinity—the Father, the Son, and the Spirit (1 Timothy 2:5; Matthew 28:19). Jesus Christ The Son of God, even God Himself, was incarnated to be a man by the name of Jesus Christ (John 1:1, 14). Christ's Crucifixion Christ died on the cross for our sins, shedding His blood for our redemption (1 Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:7). Christ's Resurrection Christ resurrected from among the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:4). Christ's Ascension Christ ascended to the right hand of God to be Lord of all (Acts 1:9; 2:33, 36). Regeneration Whenever any person repents to God and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, he or she is regenerated (born again) and becomes a living member of the one Body of Christ (Acts 20:21; John 3:3; Ephesians 1:22-23; Romans 12:5). Christ's Return Christ is coming again to receive His believers to Himself (1 Thessalonians 2:19). Our Meetings We meet to pray and study the Bible on campuses, in our offices and workplaces and live what we like to call “the church life.” All who seek to know the Lord Jesus in truth and in life are welcome in our midst and we choose not to meet in any name other than that of the Lord Jesus Christ. We welcome all who call upon His name (Romans 10:12) to meet with us at the times and places below. We have Lord’s Day meetings in English and Mandarin, as well as smaller group meetings in many languages, including English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Tagalog. Our History In 1952, a group of Chinese Christian immigrants in San Francisco gathered together to meet and enjoy the Lord in their homes. These precious believers had to flee the newly established (and atheistic) People’s Republic of China (PRC) because of their faith. As the church in San Francisco, they followed the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, receiving much spiritual vision and edification. Their understanding of God’s purpose as revealed in the Bible became clearer and their love for Jesus Christ grew stronger. They realized that the Lord’s desire was that all His believers would be one, even as the Father and Son are one (John 17:11, 21, 22). By the 1960s, the church in San Francisco began growing in number and included believers from many different backgrounds, cultures, and races. Their enjoyment of the Lord continues to increase more and more. Today, the church in San Francisco is composed of believers from all over the world and has meetings in various languages (e.g., English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Tagalog). Who we are Meet Our Members We welcome you to get to know us better! While the Lord has made us all “one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28), we come from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and places. Meet more of us and learn why we love the church in San Francisco! Small Groups Meeting in small groups in homes around the city is the heart of our Christian living. We come together to fellowship, study the Bible together, and shepherd one another in the Lord. Groups organically form and develop across the city, across all ages, and across all ethnicities. We invite you to contact us to find a small group meeting in your area or to request some to visit you in your home and begin a new group. Order yours today . As the church in San Francisco, they followed the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee , receiving much spiritual vision and edification.
