Her compassionate and supportive approach makes each appointment a positive experience, helping kids build confidence in their smiles from an early age. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at UCLA and then completed her dental training at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry . After dental school, she finished her pediatric specialty training at Boston University, where she gained advanced expertise in caring for children of all ages and needs. Outside the office, Dr. Van is a proud mother of three — one already in college — and she treasures time with her family. Weekends are often spent at the pool, cheering on her children at water polo games. She is also an active parent volunteer in her children’s troops with Scouts BSA, where she enjoys supporting youth growth, leadership, and community involvement. In her free time, she loves traveling with her husband, spending time outdoors, and being with her two beloved dogs. One of her dogs, Sparkles, is a therapy dog who joins her in the dental office to bring extra comfort and joy to her young patients. Best place to go if you have a little one, mine son has special needs and everyone here was so understanding and sweet, Dr.Fridgen did sedation dental work for my son and fixed all his cavities I was so nervous but everyone helped walk and talk me through it all. She was born and raised in the East Bay (Hayward-Union City) and attended college at the University of California, Berkeley. She went on to obtain her dental degree (2005) and pediatric dentistry training (2007) at New York University . In addition to private practice, she teaches part-time at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Dentistry. Dr. Jacky has a strong interest in oral health education and preventive dentistry. She works collaboratively with day care programs and elementary schools to promote the importance of oral health. She is gentle, warm, and patient, and often you’ll even hear her singing to her patients. She is board certified with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Pediatric Dental Society, and the Southern Alameda County Dental Society.
