Our Data Processing Agreement (DPA) outlines the ways we handle and safeguard the personal data you entrust to us while using the DevRev Service. This agreement forms part of our service terms, ensuring that your information is managed in accordance with applicable data privacy laws and best practices. Why do you need to sign a Data Processing Agreement with us? By providing the DevRev service to businesses who have set up a user account with us and use our service and its features in connection with their own websites, web-stores and other digital products, DevRev is acting as the “processor” of certain personal data that might get collected and stored in connection with the service, while each individual DevRev user acts as the “controller” of such data, as defined by the GDPR in Article 28. In simplified terms, our systems collect, store and otherwise process some of the data that might belong to your employees, end customers or other individuals that interact with our services, when you have integrated or otherwise deployed them for your own use. We process this data on “contractual grounds” (namely the Terms of Service and Data Processing Agreement you accept when signing up for our service) in order to offer you and your end-users our services. What’s in the DevRev Data Processing Agreement? The DPA has been drafted in line with Article 28 of the GDPR and includes: Roles and Responsibilities: Details on DevRev’s role as a data processor and your role as a data controller. Data Protection Measures: An overview of the technical and organizational measures we implement to keep your data secure, such as encryption, access controls, and regular security audits. Data Subject Rights: Information on how we support you in responding to requests from individuals to exercise their rights under data protection laws. Data Transfer: Terms regarding international data transfers, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other regulatory frameworks. Subprocessors: A list of any third parties we partner we engage in order to process data on your behalf, as well as explanations on how such parties safeguard your data. Standard Contractual clauses and other country specific clauses: Our DPA also includes the EU Commission's Standard Contractual clauses and other country specific clauses for transferring and processing data outside of the EEA, UK and USA. How does DevRev handle International Data transfers? At DevRev, we understand the importance of securely managing international data transfers in compliance with global data privacy laws. To support this commitment, we use industry-standard frameworks and legal instruments to facilitate the lawful and secure transfer of personal data across borders. EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) For data transfers involving EU-based users, DevRev relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). These clauses, approved by the European Commission, provide contractual safeguards to ensure that personal data transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA) is adequately protected, even when transferred to countries that may not offer an equivalent level of data protection. UK-Specific Clauses Following Brexit, we also apply tailored safeguards for personal data transferred from the United Kingdom. We leverage the UK’s International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU SCCs, which ensures compliance with UK-specific data transfer requirements and aligns with the standards established by the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). United States Data Transfer Mechanisms For personal data transfers to the United States, DevRev employs recognized contractual frameworks and implements additional measures, as necessary, to safeguard your information in accordance with evolving U.S. data protection guidelines. We work to align with relevant standards and best practices to address regulatory considerations around cross-border data transfers. What about Personal Data use by AI systems? The DevRev Data Processing Agreement also includes clauses and protective measures for when our systems (or the systems of our subprocessors) might include machine learning or other AI processing. Is concluding the DevRev Data Processing Agreement enough? The data of your company as well as other information on the processing of personal data in connection with your use of the DevRev services must always be available to end-users at the time they entrust their personal data to you (e.g. when your end-users interact with the DevRev live chat feature you have deployed on your website). According to the GDPR, the disclosure of this information as well as the responsibility for the lawfulness of processing thus performed is the responsibility of each individual user acting as a “data controller”. You should thereby consult your legal counsel and draft your own privacy policy in a way that meets the requirements of Article 13 of the GDPR as well as any other specific local legal requirements. Operating across payments, accounts payable, and financial workflow automation, it supports mission-critical financial operations in one of the world’s most regulated markets. With annual revenue exceeding $1.6 billion, customer support had evolved from an operational function into a strategic imperative. It needed to scale without compromising trust, compliance, or customer experience. We spoke with BILL’s leadership team to understand how they transformed support into an AI-powered advantage. The challenge BILL handles approximately 1.4 million customer queries annually with a support burden already in the tens of millions of dollars. Costs were rising faster than headcount, making the model financially unsustainable. Leaders faced a difficult trade-off: continue expanding teams or accept slower response times in a business where trust and accuracy are non-negotiable. The issue wasn’t just volume. It was fragmentation. Critical knowledge lived across disconnected systems: product documentation, historical cases, internal knowledge bases, and heavily customized Salesforce workflows built over years. BILL’s Support Representatives toggled between tools to reconstruct customer context, slowing resolution and increasing uncertainty during complex escalations. Salesforce was deeply embedded as the system of record. Replacing it was not an option. Any solution had to integrate seamlessly without disrupting workflows or erasing institutional knowledge. Previous self-service initiatives delivered marginal cost savings but often degraded customer experience. Leadership faced a hard constraint: materially reduce costs without eroding trust. More than 15 alternatives were evaluated — including Salesforce’s native AI, enterprise search platforms, Google offerings, and internal build options. None delivered all three requirements simultaneously: AI that resolved issues rather than simply triaging them Deep Salesforce integration Enterprise-grade security and compliance suitable for a regulated financial environment The mandate was clear: achieve at least 30% query deflection, with a credible path to 60%, while maintaining or improving customer satisfaction. The solution After a highly competitive evaluation process, BILL selected DevRev as its enterprise AI agent platform. Leadership viewed the initiative as more than just a cost optimization project. While support efficiency was the immediate driver, they required an AI-native foundation capable of extending into onboarding, collections, and broader customer workflows over time. Consistency across channels was critical. Customers could engage the AI agent directly inside BILL’s product and mobile app, receiving the same context-aware support regardless of touchpoint. Before full rollout, BILL conducted a proof of concept using 200,000 real customer queries. DevRev’s AI agents achieved a 70% resolution rate, exceeding the 30% approval threshold. In production, the Computer's customer experience AI agent became the first line of response for the 800,000 customer inquiries. For common issues, customers received accurate answers in seconds from day one, and the speed of responses continues to improve. For complex cases, the agent intelligently triaged requests, executed automated workflows when appropriate, or escalated to human agents with the full context preserved. This was possible through a deep integration with Salesforce, which allowed human agents to use the native chat interface in Salesforce powered by DevRev's AI Agent. The AI agent didn’t merely route tickets. It could authenticate users, create and update Salesforce cases, and orchestrate agent-to-agent workflows within BILL’s SaaS environment. Human agents operated inside native Salesforce chat with complete conversation history intact. Computer for enterprise search and answers In parallel, Computer for enterprise search and answers alone handles over 600,000 search queries annually and enables customers and teams to retrieve trusted information beyond conversational interfaces. Computer’s centralized Memory consolidated product documentation, historical support data, and Salesforce context into a single searchable intelligence layer. Instead of piecing together answers across tools, customers could retrieve precise, contextual responses in seconds. The impact Computer, by DevRev helped BILL achieve their self‑serve rate goals resulting in a corresponding reduction in handled support volume and costs. That progress came quickly — the program hit meaningful deflection above the 30% answer rate goal within six months, which put BILL on track to exceed its $5M internal savings goal. Increasing self‑serve rate has further scaled annualized cost avoidance and the upside continues to climb based on the focus of the DevRev team on achieving these results in partnership with BILL. Each additional percentage point of deflection represents meaningful additional savings as the program scales. We also detail out our Service Level Agreement between DevRev and customers (Pro and Ultimate plans). DevRev’s Customer Experience On-demand Approach Best-in-class Customer Experience is of the highest importance to DevRev and we enlist a balance between AI, Automation and Human approaches to meet these goals. Our AI Support Agent is designed to enhance the efficiency of customer service operations by interacting with users to resolve common queries to taking complex actions. The majority of the time (>50%), our AI Support Agent can address our customers’ needs; however, in the event an issue is not resolved, the agent seamlessly escalates the conversation by creating a ticket. This hybrid approach of automated and human-assisted service aims to improve response times, reduce workload on human agents, and enhance customer satisfaction. Our AI Support Agent is active on many DevRev surfaces ( www.DevRev.ai | https://app.DevRev.ai | www.support.DevRev.ai ) for your convenience.To have a better idea of what the DevRev Customer Support Experience is like, please reference the following: DevRev Support Plan This document describes the support program packages (for Pro and Ultimate customers) provided by DevRev to Customer pursuant to an Order Form and the Agreement under which Customer acquired its rights to use the DevRev Platform. 1. Definitions. Except as otherwise expressly defined in this Support Program document, capitalized terms have the meaning ascribed to them in the Agreement. For the purposes of the Support Program, the following capitalized words and phrases are ascribed the following meanings: 1.1.“ BUG ” A bug is an unexpected problem with software or hardware. Typical problems are often the result of external interference with the program's performance that was not anticipated by the developer. It affects the Production environment, may impact one or more components of the environment or infrastructure provided by DevRev 1.2.” Feature Request ” Feature requests are ideas, comments, messages, or specific customer inquiries asking for a particular function to be added to the product 1.3. “Fix” means a modification or an addition to the DevRev Platform that overcomes a BUG when made or added to the DevRev Platform, such Fix provided by DevRev to Customer is subject to Section 2.2 below. DevRev may provide a Workaround in lieu of a Fix at DevRev’s sole discretion. 1.4.“ Response Time ” means, for purposes of the Support Program, the time between DevRev’s receipt of a BUG notification from Customer, and DevRev’s confirmation that a person is working on resolution of the BUG. 1.5.“ Update ” means a patch, correction, other modification or addition to the Platform that DevRev makes generally available to its customers for maintenance fixes, BUG corrections, and minor improvements to the DevRev Platform, including fixes, patches, updates and releases to address any security vulnerabilities. “Update” also includes significant enhancements and new features or functionalities to thePlatform components that Customer has ordered, and that DevRev makes generally available to its customers at no additional charge. 1.6. “ Workaround ” means a set of procedures that a Customer may follow to circumvent or mitigate the impact of a BUG, notwithstanding that the BUG still exists. 2.2. SEVERITY DEFINITION OF BUGS Blocker - A serious degradation or critical failure is impacting ongoing business operations (e.g. daily operational activity) and a short-term workaround is unavailable. This impacts all users or a major subset of users. DevRev would require a Business Justification to better understand the impact of the issue. It stops operations, directly affecting the customer's business. High - There is a critical failure in the operational activity where a short-term workaround is available. Moderate decline in performance since workaround is available but hampers day-to-day operations. Medium - An inconvenient problem exists, however a workaround is readily available and can be applied. This type of issue may cause inconvenience or delays in certain tasks or processes, but it does not prevent the business from functioning altogether. There is no financial loss and no impact on day to day operations. Low - There is a misleading or unsatisfactory component or feature with no operational impact. It refers to a problem or inquiry that has little or no effect on the overall operations, performance, or profitability of an organization. In the unlikely event the AI Support Agent is unable to address a user’s needs, there will be a human response time on tickets as follows*: BUG Severity Blocker High Medium Low Response Time 60 Mins 6 Business Hours 10 Business Hours 24 Business Hours Business Days: Monday - Friday (Saturday and Sunday coverage provided for incidents only) Response commitments remain void for the region during the holidays mentioned below, except for incidents *No SLA promised on tickets other than BUGS 3. DevRev Uptime Commitment DevRev aims to achieve a quarterly uptime of 99.9% for the services provided under this agreement. Uptime is defined as the time the service is fully operational and accessible to the Customer, excluding any scheduled maintenance periods or circumstances beyond the control of the Service Provider. Downtime: Any period during which the service is unavailable or not functioning as intended, excluding any planned maintenance, force majeure events, or issues caused by the Customer's equipment or actions, will be considered downtime. We spoke with Elec Boothe, Senior Manager of Support and Technical Writing at Bolt, to learn why they switched to DevRev and how they've used the platform to transform their support and product operations. The challenge Prior to DevRev, Bolt struggled with fragmented support systems that couldn't scale with their rapid business growth. The team handled inefficient workflows that forced support agents to spend valuable time on routine tasks instead of focusing on customer needs. Support, product, and engineering teams worked in isolation, creating significant barriers to effective issue resolution. For a company serving both merchants and shoppers, providing consistent support across their dual customer base proved increasingly challenging. Limited self-service options led to a growing volume of support tickets, further straining their resources. Their help-site search functionality was particularly problematic, requiring manual intervention and creating friction in merchant interactions. With their business expanding rapidly, Bolt needed a more robust, integrated solution that could scale with their growth while improving both the merchant and shopper experience. The solution In early 2024, Bolt implemented DevRev to unify their support and product development operations. Bolt focused on implementing several key DevRev features: Computer AirSync for data migration Multi-channel inbox for Email, PLuG, and Portal Workflow automations A comprehensive Memory integration PLuG widget for in-website customer support, enabling merchants to access help without leaving the platform. A particular highlight was DevRev's search functionality, which transformed Bolt's help-site experience: Elec Boothe Senior Manager, Support and Technical Writing, Bolt DevRev significantly improved our help-site by developing a search widget that automates and enhances information retrieval, solving traditional manual searching issues and streamlining merchant interactions. Search has since extended into an enterprise-wide capability, indexing knowledge across Confluence, Figma, Google Docs, and Help Docs. This enables Bolt’s teams to retrieve relevant information from a single source of truth through Memory, accelerating both support and engineering workflows. Bolt is leveraging Computer Agent Studio , introducing four specialized AI agents: one each for Merchants, Shoppers, Mobile App users, and Developers (via their documentation site). These agents allow Bolt to scale intelligent support and self-service across their dual customer base and technical ecosystem, while reinforcing DevRev’s AI-native approach. On the product and engineering side, Bolt now uses AI workflows in DevRev to automatically categorize work. They connected GitHub effortlessly, enabling stage changes to update without manual effort. With Dev360, integrated directly into DevRev, they analyze developer productivity and track velocity in real time. They also rely on advanced project tracking inside our app to manage large-scale engineering initiatives with greater visibility. Together, these integrations and capabilities embody the convergence of Dev + Rev, giving Bolt a single system of record across customer and product lifecycles.
