Our facility comes with spacious, fully supervised playrooms. We separate dogs according to their size, temperament and play style to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for your beloved pet. We offer an off-leash setting, allowing your pup total freedom. We provide dog parents with half-day or full-day daycare. If your pup is getting to be a bit smelly, we also offer spa services as a part of our daycare and boarding packages. When you pick up your dog in the evening, they will be clean and tired but happy after a full day of play. Need overnight or extended boarding services? STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITY Our spacious indoor playrooms are fully climate-controlled to ensure your dog’s comfort. The air exchange constantly draws in outside air so even though the dogs are indoors, they are still getting fresh air like they would if they were outside. We deep clean and sanitize the playrooms multiple times a day to keep them clean and promote good health. The rubber flooring is specially designed with your dog’s comfort in mind; it’s easy on paws, hips and joints, something that is especially beneficial for older dogs and dogs suffering hip dysplasia and other joint ailments. Leaving your pup alone for the first time can be a stressful experience for any dog parent. You can check in on your fur baby using the webcams in each of our playrooms. All you need is a device that is connected to the internet. You’ll see them having fun and making new BFFFs (best furry friends forever). We realize how important your dog’s safety is. That is why each of our playrooms is fully supervised by our highly trained team. Our team receives training on how to recognize even the most subtle dog body language. If someone needs a time out, we’ll make sure they get one! Dogtopia of San Jose has earned certification status as a Heroes for Healthy PetsTM facility. The Heroes for Healthy PetsTM Certification Program in Infectious Disease Management provides training for preventative care, including strategic vaccination, and cleaning and disinfection protocols to help maintain disease-free facilities and keep pets healthy. The program is co-sponsored by the International Boarding and Pet Services Association, National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Pet Sitters International, VETgirl, and Barkleigh Productions. SCHEDULING If you want to schedule your dog for daycare, boarding or spa services, please contact us to arrange a time and date. Before you bring your dog to stay overnight, we ask that you bring them in for a meet and greet with our staff so we can make sure we’re the right fit for your pup. For daycare and boarding clients, we ask that they bring any food, medication and bedding. CANINE INFLUENZA VIRUS Canine influenza (CIV) is not the same as kennel cough – it is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by a virus. There are currently two known strains that effect dogs – H3N8 and H3N2 – and there have been several cases confirmed in the San Jose area. Although this dog flu is not contagious to humans, humans can spread the virus if they do not follow strict protocols, and of course it can be very easily spread between dogs at any location where dogs congregate (dog parks, vets, daycares, etc.). The signs of Canine Influenza are lethargy, loss of appetite, dehydration, cough, runny nose, and/or fever, although many dogs (around 20%) may be infected and show no signs of illness. Infected dogs may also pass on the flu before they even show symptoms. Dogtopia of San Jose follows all the recommended procedures to minimize the risk of passing on this influenza (regular deep cleaning, constant washing, constant monitoring, etc.), but even these are not a 100% guarantee against infection. We require all new pups must be vaccinated, and, because of the recent return to the virus to the Bay Area, all existing pups to be vaccinated by September 1st, 2019. Although the vaccination is not 100% effective, it will reduce the severity of symptoms in all cases. REFUND POLICY We do not give refunds for services already rendered, but will typically refund the value of any unused portion of a pass, adjusted for the actual usage. The custom curriculum has been approved for continuing education credits by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). Proactive Management: Through the curriculum developed by Dogtopia’s canine behaviorist, our team is trained in dog body language and knows how to maintain a safe and comfortable playroom. Extensive Evaluation Process: We perform a Meet & Greet with every dog that enters our facility. This is to ensure our dogs are playing with other healthy, vaccinated, like-minded pups. We are excited to meet you and your pup for your Meet & Greet! At Dogtopia, we are focused on health and safety as well as ensuring all dogs are comfortable in our open-play environment. For daycare and boarding, all dogs are separated into playrooms by size and temperament where they can enjoy hours of safe socialization, exercise, education and FUN. They’re supervised by our highly trained Canine Coaches and you can check in on them throughout the day via our live webcams! New to Dogtopia? schedule a Meet & Greet What is a Meet & Greet and why do I need one? While we love all breeds and personalities, not every dog is suited for an off-leash, open-play environment. We take our doggie guests’ safety very seriously, so each Meet & Greet consists of 20-30 minutes with our trained evaluator to ensure that your pup is a good fit for daycare. It will include a health history overview, a nose-to-tail assessment, and an evaluation of their comfort level with other dogs in a controlled mini-play area. The process is very easy and ensures all dogs are comfortable at Dogtopia – we look forward to getting to know you and your furry family member better! Please note: All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age AND current on required vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP/DHPP, Bordetella, and Canine flu). Dogs older than 7 months must be spayed or neutered. Dogtopia requirements: Up-to-date on vaccinations (including Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Canine Flu) – don’t have your records? We can call your vet for you! Puppies must be at least 12 weeks old AND fully vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Canine Flu Dogs 7 months and older must be spayed/neutered *Newly adopted adult dogs should be in their new home for at least 30 days to get comfortable in their new surroundings *Dogtopia highly recommends all new overnight boarding pups complete 3 days of daycare prior to their first overnight stay with us to ensure their comfort during the stay and meet all their new human and furry friends ahead of time. MEET & GREET GETTING READY FOR THE MEET & GREET: Once your Meet & Greet appointment is set and confirmed by our team, you will receive an email to log-in to your online dashboard and begin the registration process. This is where we get to know more about you and your dog, vaccinations can be uploaded by you or our team and you can review and digitally sign our Pet Parent Agreement. Then you’re ready! WHAT TO EXPECT: On Meet & Greet day, you will bring your dog(s) to the facility and it is very important to bring the dog on a leash or slip lead with a collar/harness when you enter the lobby. The evaluation process with your dog takes 20-30 minutes with our trained evaluator. During this time, we would love to show you around, address your questions and you can even watch the playroom cameras from our lobby! My dog Ravi’s onboarding interview was comprehensive and reassuring and it was a pleasure to speak to both Peter and Melody. Ravi just had his first session on Tuesday and I chose to keep it short- less than 2 hours. My goal was to have it be an experience he could easily process and recover from- if necessary. I’m happy to report- no recovery needed! The very next morning, Ravi walked me straight back to Dogtopia, where he happily had a chance to interact briefly with two of the employees who were with him on Tuesday. YAY! We are excited to meet you and your pup for your Meet & Greet! At Dogtopia, we are focused on health and safety as well as ensuring all dogs are comfortable in our open-play environment. For daycare and boarding, all dogs are separated into playrooms by size and temperament where they can enjoy hours of safe socialization, exercise, education and FUN. They’re supervised by our highly trained Canine Coaches and you can check in on them throughout the day via our live webcams! New to Dogtopia? schedule a Meet & Greet What is a Meet & Greet and why do I need one? While we love all breeds and personalities, not every dog is suited for an off-leash, open-play environment. We take our doggie guests’ safety very seriously, so each Meet & Greet consists of 20-30 minutes with our trained evaluator to ensure that your pup is a good fit for daycare. It will include a health history overview, a nose-to-tail assessment, and an evaluation of their comfort level with other dogs in a controlled mini-play area. The process is very easy and ensures all dogs are comfortable at Dogtopia – we look forward to getting to know you and your furry family member better! Please note: All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age AND current on required vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP/DHPP, Bordetella, and Canine flu). Dogs older than 7 months must be spayed or neutered. Dogtopia requirements: Up-to-date on vaccinations (including Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Canine Flu) – don’t have your records? We can call your vet for you! Puppies must be at least 12 weeks old AND fully vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Canine Flu Dogs 7 months and older must be spayed/neutered *Newly adopted adult dogs should be in their new home for at least 30 days to get comfortable in their new surroundings *Dogtopia highly recommends all new overnight boarding pups complete 3 days of daycare prior to their first overnight stay with us to ensure their comfort during the stay and meet all their new human and furry friends ahead of time. MEET & GREET GETTING READY FOR THE MEET & GREET: Once your Meet & Greet appointment is set and confirmed by our team, you will receive an email to log-in to your online dashboard and begin the registration process. This is where we get to know more about you and your dog, vaccinations can be uploaded by you or our team and you can review and digitally sign our Pet Parent Agreement. Then you’re ready! WHAT TO EXPECT: On Meet & Greet day, you will bring your dog(s) to the facility and it is very important to bring the dog on a leash or slip lead with a collar/harness when you enter the lobby. The evaluation process with your dog takes 20-30 minutes with our trained evaluator. During this time, we would love to show you around, address your questions and you can even watch the playroom cameras from our lobby! EVALUATION INCLUDES: Wellness check Response to staff touch/interaction Comfort level in a crate – Crates are used for rest, naptime, boarding, feedings and administering medication when applicable Reaction in “open-play” setting with other dogs of varying size, breed, and temperament Overall observations The process is very easy and there is nothing to be nervous about at Dogtopia – we just want to get to know your pup better!
