All Ways. Testimonials A few kind words from community members who have benefited from our services. I always knew I lived in a special place. But I did not know it was heaven until I was surrounded by Angels. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You’ve expanded the world we live in. - San Geronimo couple for assistance with a wheelchair lift for their van Mondays are special days! The Food Pantry is full of surprises. Since I have been ill, it is difficult to go over the hill for food and be able to eat vegetables and fruit. The Monday pantry is a big help! Thank you Cynthia, Socorro, and Community Services! - A low-income single senior You were there when I needed the most. We lost everything in the fire. Thank you for the food, money, clothes, and household items. Thank you—thank you for helping us! - Maria Loza, C Ranch fire victim Abriendo Caminos me fortalece personalmente, me da armas para enfrentar los problemas en mi trabajo y en la comunidad.   Abriendo Caminos gives me strength, and gives me the tools to solve problems at work and in my community. - Miguel Martinez, Sr. I love the dangly earrings and other good stuff my Grammy buys me at the Thrift Store. It’s awesome! - Lucy Hamilton, 8, granddaughter of volunteer, Gina Kutchins I love feeling as if I’m helping the community and having fun at the same time – plus the Thrift Store has such a happy vibe! - Deb Jones, volunteer The Thrift Store has fair, affordable prices, provides a chance to mingle with friends and I know that all dollars spent will go to the needy in our community. - Gina Kutchins, volunteer Thank you for being there for me. You taught me how to swim. You helped me get a scholarship to sailing camp. I love you all so much. THANKS. - Graciela, Waterdogs Swim Class The rental assistance helped us in getting ahead. My husband was unemployed for about a month. We felt that we were falling behind. We now know that we will be able to pay the rent next month. It gives us peace of mind because we know that our three-year-old, and eighteen-month-old babies will have a roof over their heads. - Madeline Hope, Directora del Tomales Bay Youth Cente West Marin Community Services, through fiscal sponsorship, embraced the concept of the Town Commons so readily, making it possible to transform a vacant lot into a vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors. - Mark Switzer, West Marin Commons I believe local businesses should support community programs because we’re all in this together. - Dan Thompson, Perry’s If it weren't for WMCS, I wouldn't feel as good as I do about living here. No matter what the need, WMCS finds a way to lend a hand. It makes for a more inclusive, full and caring community for all of us. - Kris Brown, WMCS Board member WMCS drew me to joining the Board because of its reputation in this community of being an agency that was able to get things done well and efficiently for the common good of the community. - Jeff Felix, WMCS Board member On behalf of the Marin County Free Library, thank you so much for your continuing support of our efforts to provide services to immigrant families and children through our classes, programs, and cultural events! It is an honor to participate in Abriendo Caminos. I am learning a lot about the struggles that my parents had to face in order to survive in this country. I thank you mom and dad for participating in these workshops and for wanting to be involve in this community—you inspire me. - Jorge Martinez, Jr. West Marin Community Resources has provided critical support for parents and children to participate fully in the life of our community by starting at the start – in toddler care and preschool that they could not afford otherwise. - Ward Young, Director, Bolinas Children's Center I really value the involvement of WMCS in the Pre K-3 Early Education Initiative at Tomales Elementary School. It enables us to address the achievement gap in our communities in a meaningful way. We have increased parent engagement and a state-of-the-art preschool, Shoreline Acres, that reflects our demographics. - Rebecca Porrata, retired Public Health Nurse-Family Advocate, Tomales The Thrift Store has fair, affordable prices, provides a chance to mingle with friends and I know that all dollars spent will go to the needy in our community. - Gina Kutchins, volunteer PO Box 1093, Point Reyes Station, CA 94956 | 415-663-8361 | [email protected] © 2025 West Marin Community Services, a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization | Privacy Policy | Website by Smart Monkey Skip to content Open toolbar Accessibility Tools Accessibility Tools Increase Text Increase Text Decrease Text Decrease Text Grayscale Grayscale High Contrast High Contrast Negative Contrast Negative Contrast Light Background Light Background Links Underline Links Underline Readable Font Readable Font Reset Reset Ways To Give - West Marin Community Services 415-663-8361 [email protected] Facebook Instagram Facebook Instagram Home Calendar Programs Abriendo Caminos Waterdogs 2026 Financial Assistance Food Pantry Community Health & Emergency Preparedness Youth Services Thrift Store About Us About WMCS Contact Us Careers at WMCS Community Partners Testimonials Reports & Financials Equity Statement Ways To Give GIve Money Give Food Give Goods Volunteer Donate Stock Legacy Giving DONATE Select Page Every One. Sign up for WMCS Youth Programs Contact 415-663-8418 | [email protected] About View this profile on Instagram WMCS Youth Program (@ wmcsyouthprogram ) • Instagram photos and videos The WMCS-Youth Services Program was adopted in 2021 by taking on the Youth Center on the West Marin Elementary School campus. We are excited about our plans to continue to offer expanded, meaningful, hands-on programming for youth and families in West Marin. Our Youth Center is open 5 days a week afterschool offering a different activity every day such as art, cooking classes, tutoring, mountain biking, music, field trips, and much more. Camps during school breaks offer students engaging and enriching activities to stay safe and healthy when school is out of session. Academic Resources and Social-Emotional Learning We stay focused on how best to provide after-school tutoring and targeted social-emotional support for students during non-school time. We continue to meet with key community partners, a Youth Services Committee, school staff, and parents to understand how to arrange these essential supports. We encourage each student to have both personal and academic goals for the school year. Whether a student is enrolled with 10K Degrees , Academic Wednesdays, or Kahn Academy , there are several academic pathways to follow. Additionally, our Youth Center continues to develop an awareness of social-emotional, mental health, and social justice issues. These are learning opportunities that will need sufficient resources, more community partnerships, and your help to work effectively with each student. We encourage you to reach out to your teachers, family advocates, school counselors, Shoreline Mentors, library staff, sports coaches, and mentors who can help your family connect with necessary resources. Outdoor Recreational Activities The WMCS Youth Center aka Tomales Bay Youth Center (TBYC) strives to offer opportunities for youth to participate in outdoor recreational activities. We achieve this goal with weekly mountain biking trips to local parks and trails. Students can also join our year-round fishing and hiking clubs. During the summer, we offer field trips to state and county parks, opportunities such as swimming in Tomales Bay, meeting park rangers to learn more about the ecosystems, and experiences of exploring the outdoors. It is crucial for youth to participate in these programs as the benefits are exponential to their physical and mental health. Thank you for the support and helping WMCS keep TBYC a place where youth can participate in outdoor education. Volunteer Love sports? Tutoring? Cooking? Art? Biking? Computers? West Marin Immigrant Rapid Response Network 24 HOUR HOTLINE: 415-755-3622 The West Marin Immigrant Rapid Response Network (WMIRRN) provides a way for people to respond to fear and anxiety in our community as a result of the increase in immigration enforcement, ICE raids, and other attacks against our community. The network provides a 24-hour hotline to immigrants facing a raid or public arrest by federal immigration agents, dispatches trained legal observers to the raid/arrest location, and offers accompaniment to impacted people and families following a raid. Working with the heartfelt support of our whole community including West Marin Collaborative, Multicultural Center of Marin's Marin Rapid Response Network , Marin County Public Defender's Office and others, we sponsor “Know Your Rights” events, developed a Rapid Response Team, offer meetings with immigration attorneys, and help cope with stress and fear. Our mission is to mobilize an emergency response network, serve as a witness to immigration enforcement actions, uphold the rights of immigrants, and provide services to affected residents of West Marin. Interested in being trained as a Legal Observer? Register for a training! Legal Observation Team The Legal Observation Team is in coordination with the broader Marin County Rapid Response Network. Legal Observers respond directly to the site of an ongoing ICE raid or public arrest. Abriendo Caminos Abriendo Caminos (Finding our Path), builds on decades of work to move us toward the goal of being one community. About Abriendo Caminos serves as a bridge between the Latino population and the larger West Marin community through thoughtful engagement. We aim to empower the Latino community while addressing the cultural divide and working toward the goal of being one community. By becoming one community we can progress towards a more beautiful, diverse, and equitable West Marin. For over 35 years, dedicated agencies and individuals have accomplished much in bringing the local Latino population, often isolated on rural ranches, out of the shadows. The bridges built through these efforts, as well as the collaboration and respect on all sides, resulted in Abriendo Caminos , a model program which has expanded to include the West Marin areas of Point Reyes, Tomales, Bolinas, and the San Geronimo Valley. Program Objectives To collaborate with the Latino community in order to provide opportunities for leadership and engagement Support our Latino neighbors to vocalize their needs and concerns and find solutions Allow the cultures from our minoritized communities to be shared freely in efforts to immerse themselves with the larger West Marin Commit to a bilingual way of sharing and receiving information in order to be inclusive to all Program Outcomes An important first step, empowerment trainings, imbues the Latino participants with a strong sense of self-respect, a realization of the courage it takes to emigrate, and a deeper connection to each other’s experiences. Through events where community members share food and culture, participants unanimously support the sentiment of Abriendo Caminos. Periodic Latino focus groups identify key issues of labor rights, housing, education, cultural events, and immigration. Additional events and trainings have been held in these areas, with a particular focus on immigration since 2016. While continuing these trainings, the next step for this program will be to create a space for community-wide conversations to identify what systems and cultural aspects we can shift together. We can change the perception of who we are and find pathways to promote equity and mutual respect.   Donate PO Box 1093, Point Reyes Station, CA 94956 | 415-663-8361 | [email protected] © 2025 West Marin Community Services, a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization | Privacy Policy | Website by Smart Monkey Skip to content Open toolbar Accessibility Tools Accessibility Tools Increase Text Increase Text Decrease Text Decrease Text Grayscale Grayscale High Contrast High Contrast Negative Contrast Negative Contrast Light Background Light Background Links Underline Links Underline Readable Font Readable Font Reset Reset Careers at WMCS - West Marin Community Services 415-663-8361 [email protected] Facebook Instagram Facebook Instagram Home Calendar Programs Abriendo Caminos Waterdogs 2026 Financial Assistance Food Pantry Community Health & Emergency Preparedness Youth Services Thrift Store About Us About WMCS Contact Us Careers at WMCS Community Partners Testimonials Reports & Financials Equity Statement Ways To Give GIve Money Give Food Give Goods Volunteer Donate Stock Legacy Giving DONATE Select Page Every One.
