This new school year brings new challenges, opportunities, and growth, and we are excited about the journey ahead.   At EWCSD, success is not just measured by academic achievement, but by development of the five essential skills of Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, and Community. To develop these skills, we are proud to offer opportunities that enhance the educational experience while helping our students discover new passions, foster creativity, and develop leadership skills.  This year, we look forward to expanding our Broad Course of Study initiative, which offers students valuable opportunities to develop 21st century skills during the instructional day. Our STEM classes ignite innovation among students and prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow's world. Additionally, our art and music programs nurture self-expression and imagination, allowing students to try new things and become more creative. Our extended P.E. program builds teamwork qualities and enhances personal growth.  We are also excited about continuing to empower student voice through leadership opportunities. Through our Student Advisory Committee and the Student Board Member programs, EWCSD is committed to building a foundation of success for students that will pay dividends far beyond their time in our district. Students in leadership roles learn the importance of collaboration, community involvement, and communication to enhance their school communities. This year, we will continue to create platforms for student leadership and advocacy, ensuring their collective voices are heard and valued. As we embark on this new school year, we look forward to embracing the possibilities and celebrating our achievements as we work together to “Open the Door to Every Child’s Future.” Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We hope that the information contained within will assist you in better understanding our district. Providing a quality educational program and creating a positive climate for two-way communication for our community members are paramount to the board members, the administration, and the staff. Our role as board members is to act both as leaders and as bridges between the local community and the professional experts who manage our schools. We all live in this community and most of us are parents of children who are either in the district schools currently or have come through the EWCSD schools in the past. The Board adopts an annual budget and approves all expenditures; establishes district policy; approves curriculum, textbooks, and courses of study; makes decisions on school sites, building plans and construction contracts, among numerous other duties. Our meetings are open to the public, and we encourage you to attend whenever you wish.
