Located in the Heart of Downtown Larkspur, Farm House Local specializes in Farm-to-Table Breakfast and Lunch from Esteemed Chef David Monson
Farm House Local opened in March 2013 with the vision to serve locally sourced breakfast and lunch specialties. Our philosophy is to offer a menu showcasing the abundance of local produce, carefully selected purveyors of meat and seafood along with the region's best coffee, bread, small batch wines and hand crafted beers. We appreciate and respect the bounty of artisanal products available to us in the Bay Area and we incorporate such products into our seasonal menu changes.
Chef/Owner David Monson was classically trained in Paris in 1987 at the Chambre de Commerce, Ecole Ferrandi. After working with renowned chefs Wolfgang Puck, Jeremiah Tower and Patrick Glennon, David traveled overseas to Melbourne, Bombay and Hong Kong showcasing his unique brand of California cuisine. In 1995, David was awarded the Best Restaurant of the Year in Hong Kong at the Napa Restaurant located on the top floor of the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel. After more than a decade overseas, David settled in the Bay Area teaching European Cuisine at the California Culinary Academy while opening a highly successful catering company, Custom Chef. During the next decade, David enjoyed the emergence of Farm-to-Table dinner venues yet recognized the absence of similar breakfast and lunch restaurants and, as such, Farm House Local was created. We hope you will enjoy and share in our love of the best of the Bay Area.

Are you looking for a unique venue to celebrate a special occasion, host a dinner party or plan a corporate event? Farm House Local, located at 25 Ward Street in Larkspur, offers private event space and in-house catering with indoor seating and a private outdoor patio. The Farm House Local chef, David Monson, offers everything from delicious hors d’oeuvres to a savory buffet, to an elegant sit down dinner using the best available local products meticulously sourced from our Bay area purveyors. We offer a wide range of wine and beer selections, with special discounted event pricing, or provide your own beverages for a nominal bartending fee.
RENTAL RATES AND SUGGESTED MENU PRICING
Restaurant Rental: $500.00 for 4 hours ($125.00 per hour thereafter),
Wine, Beer and Other Beverages: Charged on consumption with discounted pricing,
Bartending Fee (charged only on guest-provided beverages): $300.00, includes stemware
Passed Hors d'oeuvres and Platters: From $55 per guest,
Buffet Dinner: From $70 per guest,
Family Style Dinner: From $75 per guest,
Plated Dinner Service (3 courses): From $80 per guest,
*Add passed hors d'oeuvres and or dessert to any dinner service for an additional $5 - $10 per guest.
We do not charge a cleaning fee, set-up fee or any other administrative fee for your event. Rental equipment, not available at the restaurant, will be charged at-cost and will be picked up and delivered free-of-charge for your convenience.
To complete a booking with Farm House Local, please submit a $500 deposit in form of check payable to Farm House Local. Please mail or deliver to 25 Ward Street, Larkspur CA 94939. Final payment due at event conclusion.

Chef/Owner David Monson was classically trained in Paris in 1987 at the Chambre de Commerce, Ecole Ferrandi. After working with renowned chefs Wolfgang Puck, Jeremiah Tower and Patrick Glennon, David traveled overseas to Melbourne, Bombay and Hong Kong showcasing his unique brand of California cuisine. In 1995, David was awarded the Best Restaurant of the Year in Hong Kong at the Napa Restaurant located on the top floor of the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel. After more than a decade overseas, David settled in the Bay Area teaching European Cuisine at the California Culinary Academy while opening a highly successful catering company, Custom Chef. During the next decade, David enjoyed the emergence of Farm-to-Table dinner venues yet recognized the absence of similar breakfast and lunch restaurants and, as such, Farm House Local was created. Our philosophy is to offer a menu showcasing the abundance of local produce, carefully selected purveyors of meat and seafood along with the region's best coffee, bread, small batch wines and hand crafted beers. We appreciate and respect the bounty of artisanal products available to us in the Bay Area and we incorporate such products into our seasonal menu changes. Chef/Owner David Monson was classically trained in Paris in 1987 at the Chambre de Commerce, Ecole Ferrandi. After working with renowned chefs Wolfgang Puck, Jeremiah Tower and Patrick Glennon, David traveled overseas to Melbourne, Bombay and Hong Kong showcasing his unique brand of California cuisine. In 1995, David was awarded the Best Restaurant of the Year in Hong Kong at the Napa Restaurant located on the top floor of the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel. After more than a decade overseas, David settled in the Bay Area teaching European Cuisine at the California Culinary Academy while opening a highly successful catering company, Custom Chef. During the next decade, David enjoyed the emergence of Farm-to-Table dinner venues yet recognized the absence of similar breakfast and lunch restaurants and, as such, Farm House Local was created. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage all day to day operations of the restaurant including: Ensure all guests feel welcome and are given attentive, friendly service at all times. Ensure high quality, timely delivery of food orders Work with back of house on expediting food orders Identify and communicate daily tasks to staff Communicate with back of house to ensure accurate food inventory; communicate with suppliers on daily food and supply orders Responsible for accounts payable, payroll and employee scheduling Timely, professional communication with clients via email, phone, and in person Maintain positive, proactive communication with all vendors and employees Revise job descriptions for all restaurant positions. REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: 5 years front of house experience required Some back of house experience preferred Exceptional guest service and communication skills Experience with payroll, scheduling, and ordering Ability to effectively problem solve and make decisions independently Strong attention to detail as well as the ability to see the larger, long term picture Ability to thrive in a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment Self-motivated, willing to take initiative with a strong sense of vision Solid understanding of POS systems Computer proficiency Serve Safe Restaurant Manager certification Ability to stand and walk around a restaurant for 8-10 hours Preferred hours 7:00 - 3:30, with some flexibility; minimum of 40 hours per week required, 5 days per week COMPENSATION: In general, the hours required in managing a restaurant exceed 40 hours per week. While we are open to a 40-hour work week, with an hourly pay schedule including bonuses, this position will pay approximately $68,000 per year based on a 50-hour work week.
