Hunter Events was tasked with replicating and matching the same set design plan and specifications for the previously held stage set in Paris for this one of a kind product launch. In addition to replicating and building the detailed Paris set and matching the same props used in Paris, Hunter Events manufactured an intricate and detailed custom “vault” which, beautifully highlighted the “ One Million ” gold product emblem. The vault also acted as the display for the elegant “ One Million ” product and branding. A one-of-a-kind original Paco Rabanne gold dress — studded with crystals — was flown in from Paris to enhance and wow the stage set. A team of 12 highly trained and qualified craftsmen hired by Hunter Events built this extraordinary and unique stage set, which took two months to build. MEAL COORDINATION The Product Launch was a one day event that included lunch on the beautiful Terrace of The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel. As with all Corporate Events planned by Hunter Events, the guests were well cared for each and every minute of this Product Launch. Throughout the day-long meeting, guests were provided refreshments and light snacks to remain energized and focused all day. VENUE SEARCH AND PRODUCTION As one of the top ten Event Planning companies in San Francisco, Hunter Events puts experience and skill to the test to search and select the finest venues around the world — appropriate to the Client’s unique needs. In this case, The Spanish Suite located in The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel was the perfect choice for this Product Launch Event. Located on the 15th floor of the hotel, the Spanish Suite is the original residence of Frederick Clift, the hotel’s original owner. The rich indoor suite — with beautiful crystal chandeliers and dark mahogany walls was the ideal location for this event. Recently updated in 2020, the room now boasts a refined neutral palette of color and textures to promote a handcrafted look that augments the warmth and indulgent sophistication of the rooms. The Suite opens to the beautiful and bright Terrace Room, complete with sweeping views of the city and gorgeous bay views. The Terrace room was used for Lunch. EVENT IMPACT Guests at the event were able to fully immerse themselves and invited to walk up to the set, look in to the vault and explore the product and the branding on the set. The Client was more than pleased with the success of the Launch — as well as the outstanding service, Event Planning and superb and detailed set building provided by Hunter Events. This event was held at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, California. From the moment the guests arrived, they were transported back in time to the Golden Age of glitz and glamour. VENUE SEARCH AND PRODUCTION As one of the top event planning companies in San Francisco, Hunter Events puts experience and skill to the test to search and select the finest venues around the world — appropriate to the Client’s unique and specific needs. The Paramount Theatre, built in 1931, is a splendid representation of ornate, rococo and ornamental Art Deco style. The character of the building completely embodied the theme of the Corporate Anniversary Event and no other venue could have provided such ambiance. Located just a few miles from the Client’s World Headquarters, the Paramount Theatre, stands as one of the finest remaining examples of Art Deco design in the United States and is now a National Historic Landmark. Hunter Events’ desire to always introduce both the Client and their guests to fascinating and unique venues they may not otherwise experience, was the driving force in selecting the Paramount Theatre for this Corporate Company Event. ENTERTAINMENT Despite the impact of the Great Depression, the 1930s are remembered as the era of escapism and Hunter Events wanted to replicate that feeling for the guests during the Corporate Company Event. Colleagues — dressed as debonair as Hollywood stars and starlets — enjoyed hours show-stopping performances by over 30 hired entertainers. Hunter Events not only hired a Jazz Quartet and a Deco Dancing Troupe, but also actors who were dressed as 1930’s-era “Gangsters & Cops”, dashing “Gals & Gents” and two “Cigarette Girls” who offered old-fashioned candy, boutonnieres and handmade chocolate cigars to guests throughout the event. To capture the essence of the evening, a professional photographer took guests’ photos in a custom-created Speakeasy Lounge. Guests also enjoyed an array of hors d’oeuvres, a delicious buffet of menu items and a selection of fine cocktails throughout the evening. The centerpieces of the evening were the extraordinary performances on the Paramount Theatre stage. To open the show, a hired organist dramatically rose from 12’ below the stage on a hydraulic lift, playing Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue” on the Theatre’s refurbished pipe organ. As the organist changed his melody, 10 Deco Dancers slowly rose from another sunken stage and performed a dance to Fred Astaire’s “Puttin on the Ritz” — the theme of the show. EVENT IMPACT Guests at the Corporate Anniversary Event were able to celebrate their achievements in a most unique and unforgettable way. The delectable menu items, the exquisite beverages and the non-stop entertainment impressed each and every attendee. But above all, the beauty and elegance of the remarkable Paramount Theater defined the event like none other. This event was held at the Scottish Rite Center in Oakland, California. From the moment the guests arrived, they were entranced by a variety of entertainers ranging from magicians and acrobats to jugglers and dancers — plus so much more! COCKTAIL AND MEAL COORDINATION As with all corporate Company Events planned by Hunter Events, the menu for this reception was carefully crafted and tailored to the Client’s specific needs. Guests enjoyed an array of hors d’oeuvres and a selection of fine cocktails throughout the evening. Mouthwatering entrées of vegetarian dishes, a garlic crusted roast beef and grilled salmon carving station, and a seafood and dim sum bar delighted each guest. A delectable dessert bar, complete with chocolate éclairs, lemon squares, fudge brownies and gourmet cupcakes rounded out the experience. The Oakland Scottish Rite Center was constructed in 1927 and remains an exquisite venue for almost any type of event. Situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Merritt, the Scottish Rite Center is located near downtown Oakland and just a short ride from San Francisco, making it a convenient destination for the event attendees. The event took place in the Center’s Grand Ballroom. With over 10,000 square feet, two full-sized projector screens and full stage, this special event space perfectly met the Client’s needs for the corporate event and awards ceremony. Hunter Events created custom signage throughout the space to complement the theme, and to provide wayfinding and important messages for the guests. Hunter Events also built a custom secondary stage, complete with curtains, lighting and audio equipment to accommodate an entertaining 30-minute Vaudeville show. Cocktail tables draped in fine linens were set throughout the room and adorned with soft glowing candlelight. This thoughtful setup allowed colleagues to socialize and mingle comfortably and provided enough space for the hired Vaudevillian entertainers to freely move throughout the crowd as they performed their acts. Dutch, the world’s strongest man, impressed the crowd with his strength of ten men while the Charming Charlie Chaplin received laugh after laugh for his comedic routines. The Grand Ballroom was transformed with meticulous and detailed lighting, including colorful and moving leaf patterns on all the perimeter walls. Custom made and branded lucite cubes acted as the centerpieces. David Gerard , the well-known San Francisco Mentalist and magician amazed guests with a customized show. Hunter designed and created a large faux custom-made and branded cake for this event. After the presentation, the cake was rolled out to the dance floor and the guests sang Happy Birthday. The evening continued with dancing, where the master of all Bay area Disc Jockey’s, DJ David Carvalho kept people on their feet. This was most definitely a WOW event. FOOD AND BEVERAGE COORDINATION With over 25 years of experience designing exceptional culinary experiences for corporate events and conferences, Hunter Events takes a thoughtful, guest-focused approach to every menu. For this celebration, we collaborated closely with the client to craft a food and beverage program that reflected their brand and hospitality goals. The evening began with a curated Mezzo Bar at the cocktail reception, featuring Shaved Prosciutto, Salami, Spicy Pepperoni, Capicola, Classic Hummus, and other Mediterranean favorites. Guests then enjoyed a plated dinner with entrée options including Pacific Salmon, Certified Angus New York Strip Steak, Pan-Roasted Organic Chicken Breast, and a flavorful Vegetarian and Vegan selection. A native of Chicago, Hunter always knew he liked to create complex artwork projects and loved being around people and attending events and social gatherings. Hunter’s early education in event and meeting planning did not come from educational classes. Rather, it came from hands-on organizing and producing activities and events while in College. Hunter was President of the Events Department of the College Activities Board. The planning aspect of these events were critical to his early growth as an event planner. Furthermore, running and managing the events on site became a well-rounded, hands-on education in the art of Event Planning. After College, Hunter worked as a host, bookkeeper, and waiter at a major restaurant chain in the Chicago suburb of Northbrook, IL. Eventually, he was given the opportunity to be the Event Project Manager for the restaurant’s Midwest region, including four restaurants. Not only did he love this work, it also allowed him to continue to hone his skills on how to organize, plan and successfully execute events. Hunter then worked with a Chicago based Public Relations firm, whose core business was opening and promoting restaurants. In 1990, Hunter moved to San Francisco and worked for an event planning company. In 1992, he created Hunter Events. The business took off. Branding Guidelines Hunter Events also understands that corporate brand standards created by the Client’s corporate branding should be respected and followed as outlined in the company’s brand guidelines. All event material created by Hunter Events will follow a proofing process to ensure the corporate branding is displayed accurately. Any revisions requested by the Client and their corporate branding agency will be promptly taken care of and another proof will be provided. Should the company not have any predetermined brand requirements, Hunter Events is also able to offer corporate branding services specific to the needs of the Client. Distinguished guests from the San Francisco Bay Area gathered to celebrate Bethany Center — a building that for a half-century has provided quality affordable housing to low-income seniors and has become a place for its diverse residence to come together to learn, share, grow and live. The gala also unveiled the Center’s new Ruth’s Table building, a place for creative learning rooted in the life of artist Ruth Asawa. COCKTAIL AND MEAL COORDINATION As with all company events planned by Hunter Events, the menu for this gala was carefully crafted and tailored to the Client’s specific needs. As the guests explored and toured Bethany Center, they were treated to a selection of hors d’oeuvres, desserts and cocktails. Mouthwatering mustard-griddled beef burger bites, teriyaki kobe beef fries, chicken pot pies, and tiny Thai tuna tacos — as well as variety of other delicious menu items — were presented on trays by butlers as the guests mingled throughout the establishment. As the evening progressed, platters of desserts were brought out to delight the guests. Gourmet peanut butter cups and variety of tartlets — lemon meringue, chocolate and caramel, and seasonal fruit mascarpone — rounded out the experience. VENUE SEARCH AND PRODUCTION The 50th Anniversary gala event was held at Bethany Center Senior Housing in the heart San Francisco’s Mission District. Since 2016, the center underwent a major renovation including a significant modernization in seismic readiness, safety and accessibility for the 167 residents. Bethany Center also constructed a brand new building called Ruth’s Table. This building is named for the late Ruth Asawa, a San Francisco artist and advocate for art education. Ruth’s Table connects diverse audiences through a dynamic combination of rotating exhibitions, artist-run workshops and after-hour events, along with free programming open to people of all ages and abilities. A parking lot connecting Ruth’s Table and Bethany Center was replaced by a beautiful sustainably designed, safe, urban garden, to be open and accessible to the surrounding neighborhood in early 2019. Hunter Events adorned the space with raised cocktail tables draped in colorful linens. As an expert at planning and producing successful company events, Hunter Events made certain that the tables allowed guests to pause for conversation, yet did not interfere with the buildings’ beautiful architecture or the flow of attendee traffic. To signify the momentous anniversary, Hunter Events designed and custom built a “50” marquee, which lit up the building’s exterior in the most elegant and impressive way. ENTERTAINMENT A private celebration prior to the official start of the gala was held for the Bethany Center residents and staff. Notable members of the San Francisco Bay Area and other guests arrived later in the evening to celebrate the anniversary, tour the buildings and learn more about the impact Bethany Center has on its community. Bethany Center Executive Director, Jerry Brown, gave a welcome speech and offered a salute to the newly remodeled living space, Ruth’s Table, and their unique niche in the San Francisco community. Guests and residents were treated to a variety of entertainment, representing a mix of cultures and traditions as a nod to the diverse group of people living at Bethany Center. Hunter Events hired a mariachi band, impressive stilt walkers, a pianist and a traditional Chinese Lion Dance troupe to bless the buildings. As the music filled the hallways, guests were dazzled by the beauty of the space and the remarkable impact Bethany Center and Ruth’s Table have on everyone who enters their doors. Guests were also able to explore the Center’s extensive collection of fine art on display throughout the buildings. Most impressively was the front facade of the Bethany Senior Housing Building. A mural titled “Salud!” by Bay Area artist Dan Fontes spans the 9-story exterior from the ground up. The mural showcases the wonderful talents of the senior residents such as dancing, painting, playing musical instruments and more. EVENT IMPACT The unique venue set itself apart from any other anniversary gala event hosted by Hunter Events. He now transfers that knowledge on stage to teach proven strategies that improve individual and organizational performances. This annual gala enchanted guests with a vibrant Speakeasy theme, meticulously brought to life through expert planning and innovative design. Adding a touch of authenticity, Hunter crafted an elegant "Speakeasy" styled stage curtain stage that beautifully complemented the evening's ambiance. Every year, dignitaries, donors, volunteers, families, and friends from across the globe come together for this event to celebrate those who have made extraordinary contributions to transforming the lives of children and communities affected by cleft conditions. The gala honors volunteers and supporters who go above and beyond in their dedication and impact. All proceeds from the event are directed towards funding more surgeries and supporting the training and equipping of medical teams worldwide, ensuring better futures for countless children and their families. COCKTAIL HOUR AND SILENT AUCTION The lively evening kicked off in the pre-function space just outside the Ballroom, where guests were whisked away to the exuberant era of the 1920s with spirited "Speakeasy" music setting the perfect ambiance. A custom branded photo area and a captivating 360-degree photo opportunity were among the highlights, allowing guests to capture memories in style. The meticulously curated display of live auction items drew considerable attention, inviting attendees to place their bids enthusiastically. As the elegant crowd mingled, an array of exquisite passed appetizers delighted their palates, perfectly complemented by a selection of classic wines. The harmonious blend of music, passed hors d'oeuvres, and engaging activities created an unforgettable, immersive experience, as guests indulged in the nostalgia and glamour synonymous with the Roaring Twenties. It was an evening that promised and delivered fun, sophistication, and cherished moments, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the events to unfold in the Ballroom... DINNER AND PROGRAM Following the reception, guests were ushered into the beautifully designed Ballroom, adorned with a custom-made stage curtain that evoked the Speakeasy flair of the 1920s. As soothing light jazz melodies filled the air, attendees indulged in an exquisite three-course dinner crafted by the illustrious Executive Chef Adam Mali and his talented culinary team. As dinner commenced, the intricately planned and precisely timed program unfolded, perfectly synchronized with the dining experience. ALLIANCE FOR SMILES Alliance for Smiles is a remarkable nonprofit dedicated to providing free surgical repairs for children with cleft lip and cleft palate, primarily through missions across Asia and Africa. The organization was founded with two goals: to address the immediate need by providing free cleft surgeries for families who could never afford it on their own; and to train, equip, and empower local medical providers to address the long-term needs of cleft patients. Worldwide, approximately one in 700 children are born with a cleft lip and/or palate. It is little known that in many countries children with clefts face tremendous physical, emotional, and social challenges. Many are even killed by their own families or communities for being born with the condition, as it is often considered a curse or spiritual punishment. Those who survive have difficulty breastfeeding, are prone to serious medical conditions and are often shunned, abused, or abandoned. When setting a room for either a Meeting, Conference or Event, Hunter Events considers the estimated number of guests compared to the venue space to ensure enough room for guests to move or sit comfortably throughout the space. We work carefully with the venue to establish a workable, realistic, and comfortable scaled floor plan for your program Tables and chairs are carefully placed for maximum comfort of the guests and the service staff Staging If the event or Conference calls for a speaker, entertainment or both, Hunter Events will ensure everything from the stage size, stage height and its placement is clearly visible to the audience from all parts of the room. Event staging size, height, width, and design is critical for any corporate conference or event Sight lines are kept in consideration for the placement of both chairs and the stage Registration Desk Placement If a Corporate Conference requires a registration area, Hunter Events will ensure the guests are greeted with easy-to-read signage and a team of friendly hired event staff, conveniently located at the entrance of the event venue.
