Notified customer that Volkswagen recommends to not perform further diagnostics or replace components due to a p0106 fault before the software update in the bulletin is performed. Advised customer to go to Volkswagen to have the software update performed. 2) Verified customer concern, loud brake noise. Noise is consistent no matter the amount of pedal pressure or speed. Raised vehicle and removed wheels. Found front pads at 8MM and rear at 7MM, inspected pads and found glazed pad surface, heat spots on rotors. Recommend to replace front and rear brake pads and rotors to resolve noise concern. Warned customer that glazed braking surfaces may result in reduced braking power and longer stopping distance. Customer declined repairs at this time. 3) Verified concern when tech was pulling in vehicle for diag. only passenger side door unlocking with key fob. Customer states VW dealership repaired this issue about a year ago. Performed diagnostic and found faulty door lock actuator / latch assembly. Recommend to replace driver door latch assembly. Returned to shop for scanned to check misfire, misfire consistent on cylinder 1, rate of misfire increases exponentially as RPMS go up. Road tested vehicle on highway and when accelerator is pressed hard to pass vehicles on the highway, the RPMS rev up before vehicle accelerates. Returned to shop to check transmission fluid level and condition, found level OK, but transmission fluid was very dark and discolored. No history of transmission fluid services. Advised customer to perform transmission fluid exchange and recheck. Further diagnostic recommended for misfire issue. Performed Diagnostic. Retrieved all stored DTC's and found codes P0036 P0054 P0056 & P0060 for oxygen sensors. Cleared codes and all four returned right away. Performed further inspection and found fuse for O2 sensor circuits blown. Replaced fuse. rechecked for codes and cleared codes. After clearing codes and starting vehicle fuse blew within a couple minutes. Inspected wiring for damage, no damage found, Disconnected upstream sensors and installed new fuse, roadtested vehicle and fuse no longer blown. Upstream o2 sensors are shorted out. Recommend to replace upstream oxygen sensors.
