To ensure the health and safety of all guests at K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel Los Angeles, we require all pets to be up to date on their rabies, distemper/Parvo, Bordetella vaccinations and Canine Influenza (required at most locations). Our process is designed to be streamlined and stress-free, ensuring the transition from home to our luxury environment is as smooth as possible. Well-prepared dogs adjust quicker, play happily, and enjoy their time with our dedicated, caring staff. This guide walks you through essential steps, from necessary health checks to packing essentials, to ensure your pup kicks off their stay with ease. We strongly suggest a short pre-boarding visit, such as a daycare session, especially for first-time guests. This allows your dog to meet our staff, complete a friendly play evaluation, and become comfortable with their new, exciting surroundings. A preliminary visit significantly reduces stress, helps your dog acclimate to our environment, and makes their drop-off and pick-up simpler for everyone. You can also schedule a tour without your dog to feel confident about their stay. The Countdown to Drop-Off: Health & Packing For a safe and healthy environment, all guests must have up-to-date vaccinations verified by your veterinarian at least 10 days before drop-off. This includes Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordatella, and Canine Influenza. It’s a great idea to schedule your vet appointment a few weeks out to avoid any last-minute delays. Also, confirm your reservation details a few days before arrival and start packing your dog’s essentials, making sure their identification tags are accurate. When packing, keep it simple! We provide premium comfort and hygiene with Kuranda beds and K9 CloudBeds™, so please do not bring bedding or fabric items. Pack any necessary medication with detailed instructions, your dog's leash/collar, and any desired rubber or plastic toys (no rawhides or fabric). While we supply and recommend premium Blue Buffalo food at no extra cost, you may bring your own food for a small fee. Try to maintain your dog's normal routine the day before their arrival. Stress-Free Arrival and Joyful Reunion On drop-off day, keep your dog’s routine as normal as possible, including meals and potty breaks, and plan to arrive on time. The check-in is quick and efficient because we gather most information beforehand. Our staff will briefly confirm details, answer any final questions, and make sure you feel comfortable. It’s important to stay calm and confident during this farewell, as your dog mirrors your emotions. Once you leave, our experienced team immediately begins integrating your pup into their fun-filled routine. Pick-up day is centered around a smooth, happy reunion. Our flexible hours allow pick-up between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm, with a checkout time of 12:30 pm before a late fee applies. If anyone other than you is picking up your dog, please ensure they are an authorized contact on your account with a photo ID. K9 Resorts specializes in cage free luxury boarding for your dog, to ensure they are pampered while in our care. What is the difference between luxury boarding and traditional compartments? Traditional boarding for pets many times includes concrete flooring, wire or metal cages or runs with little close interaction with (often inexperienced) staff. K9 Resorts wanted to change the stigma of the harsh "kennel" environment, and provide pets and their owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members were comfortable and well cared for. Our Luxury Suites and Executive Rooms are cage-free options for overnight stays. These are approximately 8'x8' and 5'x7' respectively-sized accommodations that allow for plenty of space for all sized dogs to board comfortable. Each accommodation comes with a Kuranda dog bed, feeding of our premium Blue Buffalo Sensitive house food and all activities included in the price. K9 Resorts also offers comfortable compartment options for dogs that are happier in a smaller space, or for puppies who are used to being crate trained at home. Most pet care facilities do not provide overnight staff. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with video surveillance and protected by a central station alarm and a fire system at all times. In order to maintain a stress-free environment and promote a restful night, we do not have staff exploring the facility overnight. Most dogs are asleep before we lock up and we tend to wake them upon arrival in the morning. Our staff is here from approximately 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. My dog doesn’t do well with other dogs, can you still board him/her? Absolutely. As long as they are 100% people friendly, we can still board them and they will receive personal one on one playtime with our staff. Would my dog have a problem switching over to your food? We virtually never experience issues while utilizing our in house diet. It is not normally recommended to switch a dog’s diet suddenly, however at K9 Resorts, we feature a premium all natural, veterinarian developed, sensitive stomach formula specifically created for dogs while in a boarding environment. Therefore, we strongly recommend utilizing our house diet, which is included with your dog’s stay. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and they have all these cute little enrichment activities for the pups. It also somehow smells so good when you walk in… not just a lack of dog smell, but actually good. My pup can be a little timid with new people at first, and they were so patient with him while he was getting comfortable. Now he goes a few times a week and gets excited to see his friends the moment we pull up. Can’t recommend this place enough. I drop off my pups in the morning and in the afternoon when I pick them up they are worn out from playing all day. They get great exercise and socialization with other dogs and people. The place is always clean and smells great, not like other doggy facilities where potent dog smell is the first thing that greets you 🤣. Belongings:  You may bring a few of your dog's plastic or rubber toys, but we do not allow any bedding, blankets, or fabric items from home. Required Bath:  For dogs boarding two or more nights, a bath is required before checkout to ensure they go home clean. Dog Health & Behavior Behavior:  For the safety of our staff, all boarding dogs must be 100% people-friendly. We reserve the right to refuse service based on a dog's temperament or health. Group Play:  Dogs must pass a daycare evaluation to participate in our daycare program and group play. A fee for this evaluation may apply. Vaccinations:  The following vaccinations are required and must be verified by a veterinarian's documentation:  Rabies ,  Distemper/Parvo , and  Bordetella . The  Canine Influenza  vaccine is also required at most locations. Deposits & Cancellations Boarding:  A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold a reservation. In the event of a change or cancellation, this deposit will be issued as an in-store credit. A  $200 cancellation fee  will be charged for any peak season reservation  canceled within 72 hours of check-in. Daycare: No deposit is needed for daycare.  However, cancellations made within 72 hours of your reservation will be charged for the full day or one day will be deducted from your package. K9 Resorts specializes in cage free luxury boarding for your dog, to ensure they are pampered while in our care. What is the difference between luxury boarding and traditional compartments? Traditional boarding for pets many times includes concrete flooring, wire or metal cages or runs with little close interaction with (often inexperienced) staff. K9 Resorts wanted to change the stigma of the harsh "kennel" environment, and provide pets and their owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members were comfortable and well cared for. Our Luxury Suites and Executive Rooms are cage-free options for overnight stays. These are approximately 8'x8' and 5'x7' respectively-sized accommodations that allow for plenty of space for all sized dogs to board comfortable. Each accommodation comes with a Kuranda dog bed, feeding of our premium Blue Buffalo Sensitive house food and all activities included in the price. K9 Resorts also offers comfortable compartment options for dogs that are happier in a smaller space, or for puppies who are used to being crate trained at home. Most pet care facilities do not provide overnight staff. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with video surveillance and protected by a central station alarm and a fire system at all times. In order to maintain a stress-free environment and promote a restful night, we do not have staff exploring the facility overnight. Most dogs are asleep before we lock up and we tend to wake them upon arrival in the morning. Our staff is here from approximately 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. My dog doesn’t do well with other dogs, can you still board him/her? Absolutely. As long as they are 100% people friendly, we can still board them and they will receive personal one on one playtime with our staff. Would my dog have a problem switching over to your food? There are exposures associated whenever there are multiple dogs under one roof. However, parents agree that the benefits of education and socialization outweigh the possibility of the common cold and other associated risks at schools. How do you deal with minor cuts & abrasions? While in Group Play (Dog & Puppy Daycare) most dogs love to play vigorously and wrestle around with each other all day. This interaction is very good for socialization and a great way for your dog to burn energy. During this play, it is NOT uncommon for some dogs to leave with minor cuts or scrapes. They love this type of play and we have trained supervisors monitoring every group at all times. You can rest easy knowing we absolutely do not allow aggressive dogs at K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel Los Angeles, but dogs do have teeth and nails and use them when engaging one another – at times, this can result in cuts or abrasions. While our team is very attentive to your dog’s behavior and interactions, it is possible for minor cuts or abrasions to go unnoticed. Traditional boarding for pets many times includes concrete flooring, wire or metal cages or runs with little close interaction with (often inexperienced) staff. Therefore, we strongly recommend utilizing our house diet, which is included with your dog’s stay. Our professional opinion is that if a dog is visited by someone they know, they tend to think they are going home, which may upset them. Absolutely. At K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel Los Angeles, we can accept any toys that are made of rubber and/or plastic. In order to maintain a safe and sanitary environment, we do not allow any fabric toys. We strongly advise against bringing rawhide toys, or anything that can be easily broken into small pieces, or might become a choking hazard. Can my dogs board together? Yes, dogs from the same family can board together, in most of our accommodations and additional dogs in the same accommodation can receive up to a 20% discount. We reserve the right to refuse services based upon a dog's temperament or health condition. This is for the safety of all our guests and staff. Vaccine Requirements The following vaccinations must be up to date and verified by documentation from your veterinarian: Rabies (Allowed in facility 24 hours after administration of first dose) Distemper/Parvo Virus (Allowed in facility 3 weeks after administration of last dose) Bordetella* (Allowed in facility 10 days after administration) Canine Influenza ** (Allowed in facility 10 days after first dose) *We strongly recommend that your dog receives the Bordetella vaccine intranasally. We also recommend the Bordetella vaccine administered every 6 months, but will accept it every 12 months. ** We strongly recommend that your dog receives the Nobivac Canine Flu Bivalent version of the Canine Influenza vaccine. This version will maximize the effectiveness of the vaccination for the protection against the Canine Influenza strains H3N8 and H3N2. This vaccine is required at most locations - please contact your local K9 Resorts to confirm. Bathing Policies Your treasured companion will feel even more special after being bathed with luxurious human-quality Les Poochs premium dog shampoo, imported from France. To ensure each guest goes home clean and fresh, a dog bath is required (without exception) for any guest staying two days or more. Medicated and Hypoallergenic shampoos are available at no extra charge, upon special request. Meal Information We serve all of our canine guests nothing but the finest cuisine, at no additional charge. Overnight residents are fed premium Blue Buffalo dog food. We strongly recommend using our house diet, Blue Buffalo GI as this specific blend of Blue Buffalo served at K9 Resorts is a special “sensitive stomach formula” that is ideal for dogs in a boarding situation. However, if your pet has food allergies or requires food from home, we are happy to serve it. Please prepare each meal in the appropriate serving size, place each one in a separate Ziploc bag, and write your last name on the labeling section. Please note that a small handling fee will apply. For our dog daycare guests, K9 Resorts does not feed meals during dog daycare services in an effort to keep the safest and most enjoyable, full day of play for each dog daycare guest. If your dog requires specific feedings for medical purposes during the day, please inquire at your local Resort for more information on this policy. Reservation & Cancellation Policies Reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. We strongly recommend providing as much advance notice to ensure your reservation. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at time of reservation; the full balance is due upon checkout. In the event of a change to your reservation or cancellation, your payment will be applied to your K9 Resorts account as a store credit (additional fees may apply). Cancellation fees will apply during peak season. Ask your local resort for further details. No refunds will be issued. A current credit card must be kept on file at all times.
