LEARN MORE As Seen In Pasadena Weekly Dr. Emily Chen was recently featured in Pasadena Weekly, where she shared her vision for revolutionizing dental care through transparent, relationship-driven treatment. CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE From Our Patients LEARN MORE I recently visited Kindred Dentistry and had an exceptional experience with Dr. Chen and the entire team. From the moment I walked in, they prioritized my comfort and went above and beyond to make me feel at ease. Dr. Chen was incredibly patient and attentive, taking the time to thoroughly explain everything and answer all of my questions. The entire staff was friendly, and the environment was calm and welcoming, which made a huge difference for someone like me who usually feels anxious about dental visits. Dr. Chen’s gentle approach and genuine care made the appointment surprisingly enjoyable. I highly recommend Kindred Dentistry and Dr. Chen for anyone looking for a compassionate and professional dental experience! Peter C. I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Dr. Chen at Kindred Dentistry kind of warrants one. Dr. Chen is hands down the best dentist I've had. Clearly very skilled— she’s also genuine, honest, and compassionate. What stood out most to me, especially after having less-than-great experiences elsewhere, was her integrity. Unlike other practices that seemed often focused on upselling unnecessary treatments, Dr. Chen was refreshingly honest about what was actually needed. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I felt comfortable and informed at every step. Mary C. Best dentist I have ever been to. Everyone who works here is compassionate, knowledgeable and communicative. I feel heard and cared for every time I come in the office. I needed extensive work done and was absolutely terrified after many years of bad dental work, but Dr Chen and her staff made the experience as comfortable as it could have been. So appreciative of this office! Jane I’ve been seeing Dr. Chen for about two years now and I can’t say enough good things about her and her team! The patient care is always attentive - they really go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and fully understand any treatment you’re receiving. What I really appreciate is Dr. Chen’s thoughtful approach. I’ve come across some dentists in the past who can be overly aggressive with treatment plans but she takes the time to monitor any issues and only recommends procedures when truly necessary. It doesn’t feel like treatments are recommended to make money but rather assessed as genuine care for your dental health. John P. Finding a dentist who is not only extremely skilled and excellent at their job but who is also focused on your goals and doing the right thing for you is really hard to find. Look no further. It took me 5 years to find a dentist in Los Angeles that I love and trust and I am beyond grateful to have found Kindred Dentistry. Dr. Chen’s attention to detail, compassion and care is very impressive. Dr. Chen and her staff are friendly, kind and professional which is so helpful if you have any nerves about dental work. They really care about what they are doing and creating a calm and caring environment for their patients. I went in for an annual cleaning and two different appointments to fix issues and every single appointment I was thrilled with the care, work and result. I can’t say enough good things which I believe is rare in the dental industry! Go see Dr. Chen and her staff if you have the chance. DeAnna L. Hands down the best dentist I've ever had. Never going anywhere else. Dr. Chen is so patient and friendly and not just trying to rush through the appointment. The office also is so pretty and fancy too! I've been searching for a good dentist in the area for the past couple years and now I've found her!! Robin Z. I’m always apprehensive going to a new dentist. And having been to many dentists over my 70 years, I’ve seen the full range from excellent to beyond incompetence. Dr Chen at Kindred ranks up with the best in my experience. She is gentle but goes right to work with exceptionally dedicated skill. She explains everything carefully and answers questions to ease your concerns. It’s clear she not only does precision dentistry, but takes pride in her work and truly cares about her patients. I highly recommend her. And as I pleasantly discovered, you will have your expectations exceeded by this remarkable professional. David K. From simple procedures like dental fillings, to more complex solutions like dental prosthetics and root canal therapy, restorative dentistry aims to revitalize decayed or damaged teeth. With our comprehensive restorative care, you can take back your overall oral health so you can eat, laugh, and smile with confidence. Schedule Now Restorative Dentistry Dental Fillings Cavities are one of the most common oral diseases, so it's imperative we tackle them as soon as they begin to compromise the health and wellness of your teeth. When left untreated, they can cause serious discomfort and may require more invasive procedures to alleviate. Thanks to fillings, your Pasadena dentist can halt the progression of tooth decay in a single visit. By stopping by for your regular 6-month cleaning and checkup, you can prevent new cavities from forming in the first place. Learn More Schedule Today Restorative Dentistry Dental Crowns If you're dealing with cracked or damaged, dental crowns can restore your smile! Crowns are tooth-shaped "caps" that protect your tooth's natural root and revitalize the function of your bite. If you've received a root canal or dental implant, a crown can also be used to bring back the health of your tooth. Since dental crowns can be made from many materials, they are ideal for a variety of restorative and cosmetic applications, so you can smile with confidence. Learn More Schedule Today Restorative Dentistry Root Canal Therapy Toothaches are often a sign of a serious infection and can cause serious pain. There's no need to wait in discomfort any longer thanks to root canal therapy. This common procedure can provide you with much-needed relief and restore the health of your tooth. Plus, root canals can save your tooth from an extraction so you can smile with comfort and confidence. Our in-house endodontist specializes in root canals, so you can ensure quality results at our practice. Learn More Schedule Today Restorative Dentistry Extractions Extractions are always our last option — saving your smile is our number one priority. However, a problematic tooth is sometimes more trouble than it's worth. Your doctor may recommend an extraction as the best way to get your oral health back on the right path. With gentle techniques, and local anesthesia or sedation, decaying teeth can be removed to alleviate your discomfort or to make room for dental implants, a bridge, or another type of tooth replacement. Learn More Schedule Today Restorative Dentistry Dental Bridges There's no need to keep covering up your mouth if a missing tooth is leaving a gap in your smile. With a dental bridge, the space left behind by one, or several, missing teeth can be permanently covered. The bridge is attached to your teeth on either side of the gap, so it won't slide around when you eat or speak. Your bridge also won't stand out from the rest of your smile —it can be color-matched to blend with your other teeth. Keep your teeth from shifting and reduce the risk of bone loss and problems with your bite by asking your dentist about a bridge. Schedule a consultation today to see if a dental bridge can help you complete your smile! Learn More Schedule Today Restorative Dentistry Dental Implants Missing a tooth? Need an extraction? The look of your smile, functionality of your bite, and overall oral health can all be restored by a dental implant. Dental implants are the most secure, long-lasting tooth replacement, and the only one that actually halts the progression of bone loss. They're one of the most secure ways to restore lost teeth, so get in touch with us today to see if implants are right for you! Learn More Schedule Today Restorative Dentistry Dentures Dentures are a removable, affordable solution that can complete your smile after missing one or all of your natural teeth. To ensure a natural look and feel, most dentures are made of a combination of acrylic and metal and are custom-crafted for a comfortable fit. Looking to see if dentures are right for you? Schedule a consultation to find out if a set of full or partial dentures can restore your bite. It's about time you got back to living your life with a smile. It can have a negative impact on your confidence and your overall well being, too. Dental implants can help you eat, laugh, and talk with ease once again. After losing a tooth or having one extracted, it’s important to consider all your replacement options. Dental implants can restore the functionality of your bite and improve your overall oral health. As one of the most secure and long-lasting tooth replacement options available, dental implants act as a natural part of your smile and replace that missing tooth you’ve been hiding. Why Gum Health Matters Untreated gum disease is the leading cause of adult tooth loss and has been linked to serious health concerns, including: Heart disease Diabetes Stroke Pregnancy complications By keeping your gums healthy, you’re protecting your whole-body health, not just your smile. Before After The Benefits of Dental Implants Unparalleled Comfort Implants function and feel just like natural teeth so you can brush, floss, and eat normally. Natural Look Your implant will be crafted to fit seamlessly with your smile and will look exactly like a real tooth. Preserve Your Oral Health Implants are made of biocompatible titanium which fuses to your jaw, thus preventing bone deterioration associated with tooth loss. The Implant Treatment Process Placement Once you’ve been approved for treatment, your doctor will schedule your oral surgery appointment and provide a surgical plan. Prior to placing the implant, your doctor will gather CBCT scans so careful planning can occur. During the surgery, your doctor will make an incision in your gum tissue to securely place a dental implant in the jaw. Next, the area will be cleaned and sutures will be placed to begin the healing process. Healing & Osseointegration Your gums and jawbone will begin to heal once your implant has been placed. After 1-2 weeks, the incision site will be healed, but it will take 3-6 months for the implant to permanently bond with your jaw bone through a process called osseointegration. To ensure you are healing properly, we will see you for a couple of check ups during the osseointegration process. Applying the Restoration The final step in the implant treatment process is the restoration. Your restoration, or prosthetic dental crown, will be custom crafted to match your smile and securely affixed to the titanium implant. Once your new tooth is in place, your smile will be complete! Schedule Today! We can't wait to see you. Request an Appointment Optional Subheading Frequently Asked Questions What is a single tooth implant? Single tooth implants are the most-frequently used dental implant and are made up of two main parts. The first is the dental implant, which is a titanium rod with a screw-like shape. The second part is the dental crown, or restoration, which will be attached to the titanium rod. This dental crown reinstates the shape, function, and appearance of your natural tooth. Unlike a partial denture, single-tooth implants are extremely durable and never move or shift. Can I get an implant in one day? In some cases, you may be able to get an implant in just one day, depending on the type of implant you will be receiving. In these cases, the restoration your doctor provides will be a temporary appliance to keep your tooth healthy and functional until you have fully healed from your dental implant placement surgery. With your temporary restoration, you’ll be able to speak and eat normally during the healing process. Your doctor will schedule a series of follow-up appointments to track your healing process and take impressions or models of your teeth. These will help the lab create your custom-made restoration. Your permanent restoration will be durable and more natural-looking than your temporaries. We recommend coming in for a consultation to see what type of dental implant might work best for you. How long will my dental implant last? When placed properly and maintained with care, dental implants can last for 30 years or more. In fact, It’s quite common for patients to keep their implants for the rest of their lives. The implant restoration, however, may not last as long. Restorations such as dental crowns or overdentures take on regular wear and tear from chewing, biting, and more. After time, the restoration may need to be replaced to keep your smile healthy and functional. By coming in for regular exams, your dentist can check to ensure your restoration is in good condition. Do dental implants stop bone loss? Yes. After losing a tooth, your jaw will no longer be stimulated by the natural pressure of chewing and biting. This causes bone loss to occur and also weakens the jaw bone. When the dental implant post is placed, it will bond directly into the jaw bone and act as an artificial tooth root. This titanium “tooth root” transmits the force of chewing and biting through the dental crown and into your jaw bone just like a real tooth would, keeping it healthy and strong. Can my dental implant become infected? Yes, dental implants can become infected, but this is a very rare complication. This type of infection is known as “peri-implantitis,” and usually only occurs if the implant is not kept clean or is not properly cared for after surgery. Follow your doctor’s instructions while recovering, and be sure to brush and floss regularly after your implant has healed to avoid peri-implantitis and maintain a healthy implant. What are All-on-4® implants? All-on-4® implants are great for patients who are looking to replace an entire arch of teeth. By using just 4 implants, your entire upper or lower set of teeth can be replaced in as little as one appointment. Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) Nitrous oxide is a safe, mild sedative inhaled through a small mask placed over your nose. It takes effect within minutes, creating a calm and relaxed feeling without putting you fully to sleep. The effects wear off quickly after treatment, so you can usually drive yourself home and resume normal activities right away. Oral Conscious Sedation Oral sedation involves taking a prescription pill before your appointment. By the time treatment begins, you’ll feel deeply relaxed and at ease. Many patients become drowsy and remember little, if anything, about the procedure afterward. Because the medication’s effects can linger, you’ll need someone to drive you to and from your appointment. IV Sedation IV sedation is delivered directly into the bloodstream for a deeper level of relaxation. You may drift into a light sleep but can be awakened easily if needed. This option is ideal for longer or more complex procedures, as it allows you to remain comfortable for the entire duration. We’ll conduct a thorough review of your medical history to determine the safest and most effective option for you. How long will the effects last? Nitrous oxide wears off quickly, allowing you to return to normal activities almost immediately. Oral and IV sedation can take several hours to fully wear off, so you’ll need a responsible adult to drive you home. Is sedation dentistry safe? Yes. All sedation methods we offer are safe when administered by trained professionals. Your health history is always reviewed beforehand, and your vital signs are carefully monitored throughout your procedure. Will I be asleep during sedation dentistry? It depends on the type of sedation. With nitrous oxide and oral sedation, you’ll remain awake but deeply relaxed. I totally hit the forever-home jackpot! I’m 94% Husky, 6% German Shepherd, and 110% floofy lovebug. I was adopted by Dr. Chen after one of her amazing patients (who fosters pups for the South LA Animal Shelter—actual angels) took me in and helped me find my way home. Then Dr. Chen met me, and it was love at first sniff. Now I spend my days at the dental office being the calm, cuddly helper pup. If you’re feeling even a little nervous, don’t worry—I’ve got you. I specialize in tail wags, quiet company, and head-tilts that say, “You’re doing great!” People tell me I make the dentist feel less scary. I just think love makes everything better. When I’m off duty, I love going for runs at the Rose Bowl with my mom and dad, pretending to chase my cat brother Oliver (don’t worry, he knows it’s a game), and hanging out with my cousin Gopher on playdates. Honestly, I’m just really happy to be here—part of the Kindred Dentistry family, making people smile, and living my best floof life. If you see me around, come say hi! I’m the fluffy one by the front desk with a big heart and a happy tail. My name is Gopher, and I'm the unofficial therapy dog at Kindred Dentistry, where my Auntie (the best dentist ever!) helps people brighten their smiles. I'm a golden retriever, so you can probably guess that I'm all about making new friends, getting lots of scratches behind my ears, and, of course, snuggling up with anyone who needs a little extra love. When I'm not at the practice, I'm usually chasing after a ball—seriously, I can’t get enough of those things! But don’t worry, I still find time to cuddle and give kisses, especially if you happen to have some chicken (my favorite!). I love visiting my Auntie at the dental practice because I get to bring smiles to everyone who walks through the door. I can’t wait to meet you and be your buddy while Auntie works on making your smile even more amazing. So, next time you visit Kindred Dentistry, don’t be surprised if I greet you with a wagging tail and a whole lot of love. I’m looking forward to making you my new best friend! The Dogtor is in! Over the course of your treatment, you'll receive new aligners every few weeks that will gradually shift your teeth into their proper alignment. Before you know it, you'll have the beautiful smile you deserve. Learn More Schedule Today Cosmetic Dentistry ICON White Spot Lesion Removal White Spot Lesions (WSLs) are little white spots that form on the surface of teeth and, if they aren't properly treated, can result in demineralization. They are a common issue that patients often notice after completing orthodontic treatment. They may also be a result of an enamel defect, infection, or direct trauma to the teeth. To reduce the appearance of white spots, we offer Icon resin infiltration treatment, a minimally invasive procedure that can remineralize the de-calcified area while evening out the shade of your affected teeth. Others are looking to repair damage and get their oral health back on track. Seeing these individuals walk out of our doors with a strong smile and newfound confidence is the reason behind our mission at Kindred Dentistry. No matter your goals, we’re honored to be a part of your oral health journey. Take a look at our Before & After gallery to explore some of our patient stories! Before After Before: This patient presents with failing composite fillings on her right lateral and two front teeth. An old porcelain fused to metal crown is on her left lateral tooth. The metal margins on her old crown are peeking through her gums causing a dark line to show. After: We replaced the fillings on her front teeth carefully matching her natural tooth color and also replaced her old crown with a more esthetic porcelain fused to zirconia crown. Before After Before: This patient presented with extrinsic and intrinsic staining along with tartar (or calculus) build up between his lower teeth. After: After a thorough cleaning to remove extrinsic staining and tartar, we used the KöR MAX system to whiten the patient’s smile. KöR MAX is a super-effective whitening system that combines at-home whitening with a single in-office whitening visit. Before After Before: This patient presented with eight failing broken veneers with significant decay underneath them. He also had a lateral incisor with bone loss and mobility indicating a poor prognosis. The patient was not only concerned about the decay and missing tooth (after the extraction), but also concerned about how he could see the “edges” of the veneers and how bulky, fake and one-dimensional the veneers looked. After: We extracted the lateral incisor with a poor prognosis, cleaned up all the decay and restored the patient’s smile with two new veneers, a bridge and three new crowns. After a deep cleaning and polish to remove the patient’s stains, we carefully color matched the restorations so that a natural look could be achieved. Before After Before: This patient presented with a single broken veneer on his front tooth. ‍ After: A single veneer was carefully made to blend harmoniously with the patients smile. A careful custom shade and shape match was used to make sure the single veneer is undetectable. Before After Before: This patient came in with two old crowns with failing margins that were showing when she smiled. Originally these crowns were placed by her previous dentist to enlarge the naturally smaller lateral incisors that naturally grew in when she was a kid (also called “peg laterals”). ‍ After: With the new crowns, we hid the margins just under her gums and also lengthened her laterals to make her smile feel younger and less “gummy”. The color match was ever so slightly lighter than the rest of her teeth ensuring that the color would blend nicely whether she decided to whiten her teething the future or leave them the way they are. Before After Before: This patient came in with a gap (also called a "diastema") between his two front teeth that a previous dentist had attempted to fix with a composite filling on tooth #8 (right). The filling on the back of #8 had failed and caused a cavity to form on the back side. Tooth #9 (left) was previously chipped and repaired with a large failing filling that now had a cavity underneath and a large crack line down the middle. ‍ After: The patient was worried that fixing his two front teeth with crowns would take away from his characteristic smile and wanted us to make sure that his two front teeth were not too “perfect” and would therefore stick out from the rest of his smile. We carefully selected color, shape and size so that his two front teeth would be stabilized from the cavities and crack, while also blend in harmoniously with the rest of his smile, keeping things super natural looking. It was “imperfect” perfection. Before After Before: Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, and that includes composite fillings. This is a failed composite filling on a molar that clearly has decay underneath it (also known as “recurrent decay”). ‍ After: We carefully removed the old filling and all of the decay that was underneath and restored it with a new composite filling mimicking the tooth’s natural shape and color. Before After Before: Over time fillings start to fail and one of the first signs of failing are stained detectable margins where the filling meets the tooth. Not all stained composite fillings need to be refilled, but when the staining is severe enough, leakage can happen and cavity causing bacteria can sneak underneath and cause bigger problems! ‍ After: We carefully removed the old filling and nothing more ensuring that we preserve as much tooth structure as possible. A brand new composite was used to restore this tooth. Good at-home hygiene habits, in combination with professional cleanings, can keep your smile free from decay and other oral health issues like gum disease. Regular exams allow us to monitor your oral health so you can address any minor concerns before they become larger, more costly, and more invasive issues. Schedule Now Preventive Dentistry Diagnostic & Prevention We get it, it can be a bit too easy to put off your bi-annual dental exam and we don't blame you, life gets busy! But remember, skipping your appointments can cost even more time and money in the future. Coming in twice a year allows us to catch small issues before they become time-consuming, expensive problems. Regular check-ups only take about an hour and we assure you that we will make it a comfortable process. Our team loves helping you truly understand your treatment and why it will help your oral health thrive. Let's keep that smile of yours strong and shining with our preventive services. Learn More Schedule Today Preventive Dentistry Cleaning & Hygiene Regular teeth cleanings and hygiene appointments are the foundation of preventive dental care. During your cleaning, we will thoroughly cleanse your teeth and gums, removing any plaque or debris from every surface in your mouth. You’ll even be able to reverse minor stains to keep your smile bright and beautiful. We recommend scheduling routine cleanings and exams every six months for most patients. However, good oral hygiene shouldn’t stop when you leave our office. Keeping up with your at-home brushing and flossing routine is equally as important as attending professional cleanings, and is the best way to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Use a fluoride-rich toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush to brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes at a time; and don’t forget to floss! Flossing at least once every day, ideally before going to bed, helps to get rid of food particles, plaque, and bacteria that can’t be removed with brushing alone. Learn More Schedule Today Preventive Dentistry Digital X-Rays Digital x-rays are safe, quick, and comfortable. Using the latest technology, we can create crisp, high-resolution images of your mouth’s structure, so we can make accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. Digital x-rays use only a fraction of the radiation as traditional film x-rays, so you can rest easy. Most patients receive one or two full sets of x-rays every year, but we may recommend additional imaging in the case of a dental emergency, or if we find an oral health issue that we need to investigate further. Learn More Schedule Today Preventive Dentistry Fluoride Treatments Fluoride treatments are one of the best ways to keep dental decay at bay. A simple, non-invasive procedure, fluoride treatments help to keep your enamel strong. After your cleaning, we’ll apply a fluoride-rich varnish or gel; we may ask you to refrain from eating or drinking anything for 30 minutes or so following your visit. Fluoride helps kickstart a process called “remineralization,” which restores essential minerals like calcium and phosphates to your teeth, keeping your enamel hard and resistant to acids, like those that cause tooth decay. Learn More Schedule Today Preventive Dentistry Dental Sealants Dental sealants are a great way for patients to protect their teeth from decay. Dental sealants are often recommended for children, but can still be a great option for patients of all ages. Plus, dental sealants can provide protection for your teeth for years after being applied. Applying dental sealants is a quick, non-invasive procedure that utilizes a dental resin that is applied to the molars. The uneven surface of molars, which are located in the rear of the mouth, are filled with grooves where plaque and bacteria can flourish. After application, the resin is cured with a UV light, causing it to harden into a powerful barrier between your teeth and the foods, drinks, acid, and bacteria that lead to decay. Learn More Schedule Today Preventive Dentistry Emergency Dentistry Dental emergencies can be painful, stressful experiences, and they don't always happen during business hours. Learn More Schedule Today Preventive Dentistry Oral Cancer Screenings Oral cancer screenings are a part of every preventive visit, and are a quick way to fortify your peace of mind. Through consistent exams, we can catch oral cancer early on, which gives us a better chance at treating it before it spreads. A routine oral cancer screening can even save your life! Your dentist will examine your gums, tongue, and the rest of the soft tissues in your mouth, keeping an eye out for lesions and other abnormalities like lumps and discolorations. If there is anything that concerns us, we may recommend getting a biopsy, which will be analyzed by a specialist to determine the cause of the abnormality. Regular oral cancer screenings allow us to identify any potential problems before they become major issues. Learn More Schedule Today Preventive Dentistry Night Guards Unconscious teeth grinding and clenching, known as bruxism, is a common issue that tends to happen at night while patients are asleep. However, night guards can help patients alleviate symptoms of bruxism by creating a barrier between your teeth that protects them from grinding-related damage. Depending on the severity of the case, night guards can be made from several different materials with varying degrees of softness. Call (626) 269-2692 Today Before & After A smile is worth 1,000 words. See real patient success stories. Before After The Benefits of Emergency Dentistry Relieve Your Pain Pain is a sign that something is wrong, and there’s no reason why you have to live with it. Restore Your Bite Fix any dental issues like cracked, chipped, or missing teeth, and get your smile back. Prevent Further Complications Emergencies, like tooth infections, can lead to more severe issues, so get treated early and avoid more complex problems. What do I do in a Dental Emergency? Keep Calm & Reduce Bleeding Any dental injury can turn a regular day into a stressful, painful situation. However, it’s important to stay calm, and remember that your dentist is here to help. Just taking a few deep breaths and assessing the situation will make it easier to make the right decisions in an emergency. If your dental injury or accident has caused bleeding of any kind, apply pressure with a sterile strip of gauze to the afflicted area. Keep the gauze in place until the bleeding stops, or until you reach our office. Control Swelling & Pain Over-the-counter pain medication like ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help to temporarily alleviate any pain or swelling you may be experiencing. However, it’s important to avoid blood-thinning medications like aspirin, as they inhibit clotting and make it difficult to control the flow of blood. In addition to medication, you can also relieve pain with a cold compress by applying an ice pack to the cheek or lip near the affected area. Request an Appointment Optional Subheading Frequently Asked Questions Is periodontal treatment covered by insurance? Most dental insurance plans provide coverage for periodontal treatment, though the extent depends on your plan. Our team will review your benefits and help you understand your options before beginning treatment. How long does treatment take? It depends on your condition. Mild gum disease may be treated in just a few visits, while advanced cases could require ongoing therapy and maintenance. We’ll provide a clear timeline during your consultation. Will it hurt? Our team uses gentle techniques and advanced technology to keep you comfortable during treatment. Local anesthetic and, if needed, sedation options ensure your experience is as pain-free as possible. Is gum disease reversible? In its earliest stage (gingivitis), gum disease can often be reversed with professional cleanings and good home care. However, once it progresses to periodontitis, it cannot be fully reversed — but it can be managed and controlled with treatment. Why does gum health matter? Gum health is essential because your gums support your teeth and help protect your body from harmful bacteria. Untreated gum disease can lead to tooth loss and is linked to health concerns like heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and complications during pregnancy.
