Blended Learning : Teachers integrate apps, platforms, and digital tools to enrich instruction and engage students in creative problem-solving. Ongoing Support : Educators receive professional development and coaching to ensure effective and purposeful technology use. Digital Citizenship : Students learn to use technology safely, responsibly, and ethically through lessons embedded into the curriculum. Student Privacy & Approved Tools We take student data privacy seriously. All digital platforms used in LAFSD are reviewed for compliance with FERPA , COPPA , SOPIPA , and other applicable laws and guidelines.   See the Digital Tools Your Child May Use Visit our Digital Learning Directory to explore the approved educational apps and platforms in use across the district. This public resource promotes transparency and reflects our ongoing commitment to digital safety and meaningful learning. In addition to core instructional platforms, students may also have access to certain Google services (such as Google Translate or Google Earth) through their district accounts, which are managed under our Google Workspace for Education privacy settings.   Online Safety and Access Controls   While using LAFSD accounts and devices, students are protected by Securly web filtering, which limits access to inappropriate content and non-educational websites. Access to online services is managed by the district and may be restricted based on grade level and instructional need.   Technology in LAFSD is supported in part through generous contributions from Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE). The proposal is that the District ask the voters for approval to levy a qualified special tax (parcel tax) on all taxable, non-exempt real property within the District, replacing and increasing the existing Measure L parcel tax, in order to raise funds to support critical educational programs and services in the Lafayette schools. The public hearing will be held at 4:00 PM, or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, as a part of a special meeting of the Governing Board, on March 3, 2026. The Board will consider taking final action on the proposal at that meeting. The Board meeting will be held in the Stanley Middle School Library, 3455 School Street, Lafayette, California.
