About Us
The Learning Tree Preschool offers quality childcare for both toddler and preschool age children. We have a caring, fully qualified staff that is first aid and CPR certified. Our nurturing teachers provide stimulating, age appropriate curriculum based on monthly themes. We serve a nutritional morning and afternoon snack daily. Here at The Learning Tree, we take pride in the fact that we do not have a bunch of extra fees like annual registration fees, enrollment deposits, or expensive yearly charges for our phonics/reading readiness program. We charge only a one time registration fee per family. As we have many families who return with siblings, there is no registration fee for returning families. We have a weekly tuition schedule and flexible vacation policies.
The Learning Tree is a play based child care center with preschool curriculum included. Our curriculum is based on monthly themes. This includes the specific numbers, letters, shapes, colors, and concepts of each month. Activities are planned by our fully qualified staff in the following areas:

I love working with children because it gives me the opportunity to be a part of their growth socially, emotionally, and academically. I find my career to be very rewarding and I enjoy connecting with families. In my free time I enjoy dates with my husband and spending time with my family. Lead PM Teacher Danielle - Tiger Class Lead PM Teacher Danielle - Tiger Class Lead PM Teacher Danielle - Tiger Class Hello! My name is Danielle Ewing, and I am thankful to teach here at The Learning Tree! I was born and raised here in the Bay Area, and I am a proud graduate from the University of California, Berkeley. I completed Early Childhood Education classes at Ohlone and Chabot Colleges, and I have my Age 3-6 PrePrimary Credential from American Montessori Society. After decades of experience as a Head Teacher and Director, I am growing into a new, self-employed career. But I sure did miss teaching! Education will always be in my heart, and I welcomed the opportunity to join this diverse, vibrant team at this school close to home. I started here in February 2023. I enjoy sharing all of the fun, energetic, challenging, sweet and learning moments with the children and teachers. I love Circle time with stories, songs and games and I am always ready for Art. The messier, the better - I love the creativity! I'm an avid sports fan (San Jose Sharks hockey, Oakland A's baseball - while still Oakland!, Golden State Warriors and CAL Football!), I enjoy country music and fitness time outdoors. My pride and joy are my daughter, who's a Nurse Practitioner, my cute grandson Colton and my son, who is a self-published author of 4 books! I am a very proud grandmother of 7 and a great grandmother of 4. I love working with children because I get the chance to watch them grow and discover themselves. Before enrolling at the California School for the Deaf in Fremont, California, I took a mainstream class with deaf students, and I have a lot of admiration for my teacher. My teacher has twice changed my life. I joined the Learning Tree Preschool and started college for Early Childhood Studies; it’s fantastic to learn, I love to teach, and I love to help people. I’m grateful to be a part of the Learning Tree Preschool, which I feel like is a second home. My dream in life is to work with Deaf children in mainstream schools as a teacher that can support them, teach them about Deaf culture, and teach them American sign language. Teacher Thomas - Teddy Class Teacher Thomas - Teddy Class Teacher Thomas - Teddy Class My name is Thomas (he/him), and I am relatively new to The Learning Tree and to work with children and education. I’ve always loved caring for children and helping them grow. After the birth of my son (Nasim, 2 y/o, and a TLT student), I realized I had a passion for working more closely with children, and I began working here at TLT in December 2024. I am currently a teachers aide in the Teddy toddler classroom where I love singing, dancing, and signing with our littlest kids. I am hard of hearing (HoH), and I wear hearing aids to assist in my ability to verbally communicate. I’ve only recently gained access to sign language and am in the middle of my learning journey to become fluent in ASL. Please come sign with me!
