I have been a patient of Dr. Leung for about 10 years now almost and this man is the best dentist I have encountered.  My teeth were  in very bad shape when I started going to him and he created a  treatment plan with me to meet my goals of the smile I  dreamed of. I have had multiple procedures done with him such as cleanings, fillings , crowns , root canal and whitening that's a few of many  and he has exceeded my expectation every time . He has golden hands and has made discomfort from shots as least as possible. He has even called me on the weekends to check on me after big procedure.  What I think is equally as important is he has phenomenal office  staff . Giselle is the front office contact person she is always so pleasant and thorough . She is prompt with all my scheduling needs and does it with warmth  and Kindness . (insurance companies can be hard as heck to deal with . Enhanced PPE We enhanced our PPE to prevent cross-contamination from patient to patient. Gloves, masks, and face shields are always used. All clinical equipment is sterilized or single-use.   We prioritize your health at every step of the way.   We're doing our best to keep you, your family, and our staff safe. Custom Extra-Oral Aerosol Evacuation System Extra-oral Aerosol Evacuation Systems are installed in every patient treatment room.   These are custom fit for each exam room to vacuum away all aerosolized particles and create cleaner air for everyone. Infection Control Infection control has always been a top priority in our practice, and you may have seen this during your visits in the past. Our infection control processes are made so that you receive safe and comfortable care at Leung Dental.  ​ Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the California Dental Association, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. We closely follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings and guidance issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.     Clean Air Circulation for those pesky aerosolized particles: HEPA Air Filters are installed all throughout the office Extra-Oral Aerosol Evacuation Systems are installed in every patient treatment room. Open windows and fans facilitate clean air circulation ​ All patient rooms surfaces are wiped down fully after every patient with disinfecting wipes (effectively kills all viruses including the Coronavirus). ​ ​ Plastic barriers are placed where appropriate. ​ ​ All instruments are sterilized. ​ ​ The entire office is cleaned daily and the waiting area is wiped down with disinfectant wipes throughout the day. ​ Everyone washes their hands regularly after each patient with antibacterial soap. ​ ​ Masks must always be worn by all persons for the entire visit. We will have you remove your mask for your procedure only. ​ ​ Health Screenings:  Before appointments, we screen all patients to ask if they have had a fever, cough, sore throat, chills, aches or runny nose in the last two weeks. If so, we will reschedule them until they’ve been symptom-free for 14 consecutive days.  Every staff member, dentist, and patient will have their temperature checked upon entering the clinic. Anyone with an elevated temperature will be sent home and only be invited back to the clinic when they are symptom free and have had a normal temperature for two weeks. ​ ​ ​ You can rest assured we are following all the appropriate guidelines regarding cleanliness and disinfection of our entire office and instruments. Implants At Leung Dental in Hayward, CA,  Dr. Wilson Leung and Dr. Katherine Leung provide the latest in dental implants and restorative dentistry technology.  Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that serve as anchors for replacement teeth.  When a patient is missing one or more teeth, dental implants are the most permanent (and often the most comfortable) solution.  Read on to learn more, but don't forget to visit our smile gallery to view some before-and-after photos of the dental implants results enjoyed by our Hayward dental implant patients. Dental Implants Preferred Over Dentures ​ Many of Dr. Leung's dental implant patients prefer permanent dental implants over traditional removable dentures for several reasons. Dental implants are nearly indistinguishable from a patient's natural teeth, unlike dentures which look artificial. While traditional dentures need to be removed nightly for cleaning, dental implants are a permanent tooth loss solution that require no additional maintenance outside of a good oral hygiene routine. Dental implants also allow patients to feel more comfortable while speaking and eating because dental implants are permanently affixed to the patient's jaw and won't shift or slip as with traditional dentures.  Steps for Dental Implants ​ The first step in the dental implants process for our Leung Dental patients is a consultation with Dr. Leung, during which all possible tooth replacement options will be discussed. To be a good candidate for dental implants, the dental patient must have sufficient bone in their jaw to support the implants.  Once it is determined that the patient is a good candidate for dental implants, Dr. Leung will work alongside specialists for the treatment. They will surgically implant the titanium screws that will serve as anchors into the patient's jaw. The next step in the dental implants process will occur three to six months later , after the titanium tooth roots have completely fused to the patient's jaw bone. Once this has occurred, the patient can return to our Leung Dental restorative dentistry office where Dr. Leung will fit the custom-crafted replacement teeth onto the patient's artificial tooth roots.
