Life Groups are where friends are made and burdens are shared. Most Life Groups meet either at the church, in a member’s home, or on Zoom. Each group typically begins by catching up with each other before reviewing the Life Group questions from the Sunday sermon. Then, a prayer time is held where individuals can request prayer and learn how they can support one another. They offer men and women the opportunity for complete life change through faith-based discipleship programs that heal hurting hearts and empower them to rebuild their lives with God’s love as a foundation. Make It Tim and Carol Conrad Tim serves as the founder and director of Uncharted Waters, an evangelistic ministry using sports in local church settings. Uncharted Waters is an equipping ministry that enhances the vision of the Church by providing sports-related resources for the effective communication of the gospel. Uncharted Waters' vision is to see churches both in the United States and around the world using sports as an evangelism and discipleship tool. Make It Klaus and Christine Derungs Christine and Klaus Derungs have been working with Wycliffe Bible Translators since 1994. They started up the Gitemi Bible translation program in northern Tanzania, and afterwards moved to Nairobi, Kenya, where they are currently serving with a Christian university, Africa International University, as a lecturer (Klaus) and journal editor (Christine). For the last 5 years Klaus has been teaching courses in missions, linguistics, and cultural anthropology. He is able to bring his experience as a Bible translator into the classroom, and is energized by the debates around the topic of cultural learning and missions. Click Here Keith and Julie Ferguson Keith and Julie serve in member care with Reliant Mission, to support the work of the Gospel by supporting the personal well-being and flourishing of missionaries, pastors, church planters, and ministry leaders. God’s servants face unique challenges, and so they are served well by the application of humble, skillful, and biblical care, encouragement, and even referral. Based in Texas, the Fergusons provide short- and long-term soul care for individuals, couples, and families who are serving for the sake of the kingdom of God in places around the world. This critical work means that God’s servants are better equipped to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ as they enjoy a healthy relationship with Him, with their families, with themselves, and with others.  As part of their passion to resource God's servants and the church at-large, they also developed and manage the "Friend of Job" website— friendofjob.com —for the purpose of: "Encouraging sinners, servants, and sufferers with the friendship of God." Jamey and Cindy Lewis Jamey and Cindy served for 26 years in Indonesia before returning to the US in 2016. They currently live in the San Diego area. Their hearts for global engagement continue to find expression in mentoring and coaching cross-cultural mission workers, MKs and other TCKs (third culture kids). They love to invite others into an encounter with the great love of God! Jamey serves with Frontier Ventures (the former US Center for World Mission). Frontier Ventures catalyzes research, innovative initiatives, and prayer as well as provides training, publications, and resources toward reaching the frontiers of mission. Cindy works part time as leadership support and community liaison for a new non-profit benefiting low-income seniors in San Diego's East County where the need is very great. She finds joy bringing the love of Christ to underserved elders in mobile home parks. Click Here Marin Pregnancy Clinic Marin Pregnancy Clinic's mission is to provide medical care and practical solutions to women with or without insurance who are pregnant. They are a free of charge state licensed community clinic, and offer the following services: pregnancy testing, prenatal care, ultrasounds for our patients, gently used maternity clothing, and gently used infant clothing and miscellaneous items. Click Here Marin County Juvenile Hall Ministry For more than 30 years, Marin Bible Church has participated in and led a county‑wide Christian outreach to teens and young adults at the Marin County Juvenile Hall. The heart of this outreach is to bring hope, encouragement, and the message of Christ to incarcerated youth. Each gathering includes an informal church service format, including a brief time of praise and worship, a short message from Scripture, personal testimonies, prayer, opportunities for spiritual decisions, and one‑on‑one conversations with the youth following the service. MBC is actively seeking committed volunteers who desire to serve and share Christ’s love with young people in challenging circumstances. Patrick partners with the country director of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) to develop school leaders, train teachers, and nurture authentic Christian schools across all of Kenya. Their children (Beckett ‘09, Adrienne '11, Zane '13, and Hadley '16) will attend Rosslyn Academy - a Christian international school in Nairobi with American curricula. They are looking forward to participating in God's movements of "grace at the fray" in Kenya. Click Here Hannah Mutch After majoring in Christian Ministries with a minor in Biblical Studies at Biola University, Hannah joined the staff of FCA in 2018. After serving on both high school and college campuses for a couple years, she is now the Pacific Southwest Regional Director of Talent Advancement and oversees recruiting, hiring, training and development. She serves alongside her husband Nick and their three kids Judah, Halie and Levi. Click Here Aaron and Nancy Palmatier Aaron and Nancy served as church planters in Northern Mexico during their first seven years with Missions Door. They took part in starting three new churches in Baja, California and one in Sonora. In 2000 Aaron's ministry increased as he began to serve as the National Ministry Director for the country of Mexico. This included giving oversight to the church planters, both foreign and national, as well as oversight of SEBANO, the Conservative Baptist Seminary in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Aaron's ministry with Missions Door continued to grow. Aaron then served as Ministry Director for Asia, Mexico and South America. His ministry included training missionaries and pastors as well as leading short-term mission teams to the various countries where he serves. Today, with over 28 years of service Aaron is the Vice President of the Ministry and provides overall leadership and general oversight in the development of new and existing mission ministries across North America and the world. Click Here Sue Perlman Susan Perlman is a first-generation Jewish believer in Jesus from Brooklyn, New York and helped found the organization, Jews for Jesus, which she has served since 1973. Currently, Susan’s main work is as the Chief Partnership Officer of Jews for Jesus. Discipleship typically takes place with 2-4 individuals meeting each week for approximately 10-16 weeks. The purpose of the discipleship group is to grow in our understanding of God and ourselves and really provides a safe place for questions to be asked, sins to be confessed, and more personal matters to be addressed. We believe that the proclamation of the Bible coupled with the power of the Holy Spirit is the primary means by which God draws people to Himself and enables them to grow in their walk with God.  (Romans 10:17; Galatians 3:5) For that reason, the Scriptures are central to all we do at Marin Bible. We strive to have worship that reflects biblical truth, and we preach primarily expository messages through books of the Bible. Our ministries to kids and teens include focused Bible teaching and application, and our Life Groups and Discipleship groups revolve around the study and application of biblical truth.  Giving the Scriptures priority in our services and ministries reflects the priority of God’s truth in our personal lives and offers our family of believers a unifying objective truth apart from our own personal opinions and preferences. We are family, not because we agree in every area of life, but because we all long to see Christ as He is revealed in the Bible. No other source of truth has the power to unify a diverse gathering of people. (Ephesians 4:11-13) Though there are many ways to minister to people, we make the proclamation of the gospel to be a cornerstone of all we do. There is only one Savior given to humans for salvation – Jesus Christ, and all Scriptures point to Him. (John 5:39) Marin Bible Church Beliefs Revelation, Scripture, and Authority of the Scriptures We believe that God is revealed in creation, in the Holy Scriptures, and in Jesus Christ, the pinnacle of revelation. The Scriptures, all sixty-six Old and New Testament books, are divinely authoritative in all they affirm (Ps. 19:1-6; Heb. 1:1-2; John 17:17). We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of Scripture. This means the Holy Spirit dynamically superintended the verbal expressions of the human authors of Scripture so that the very thoughts God intended were accurately written in the wording of the original manuscripts (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21; 1 Cor. 2:13). We believe the Scripture is inerrant as to fact and infallibly trustworthy as to truth, and should be interpreted in context to ascertain each author’s intended meaning. Our present Bible continues to reveal the final authoritative instruction of God for the church and the world (John 10:35b; Ps. 19:7; Matt. 5:17-18). We believe that all of the Scriptures ultimately point to the character or work of our Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 24:27; John 5:39). The Divine Trinity We believe in God, the one triune, infinite, personal Spirit who created and governs all things and who is the sole object of our worship. God has always existed in eternal relationship as three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit— each identical in nature, equal in power and glory, and having precisely the same divine character and attributes (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; Jn 4:24). God the Son We believe that Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He became man, without ceasing to be God, and was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order to redeem sinful humanity. He satisfied God’s holy and just demands by dying as our substitute on the cross. He assured our redemption by His resurrection from the dead in the same, though glorified, body in which He was crucified (John 1:1-2; Luke 1:35; Rom. 3:24-25; 1 Pet. 1:3-5). We believe Jesus ascended to heaven and is exalted at the right hand of the Father. As High Priest for His people, He serves as our Intercessor and Advocate (Heb. 9:24, 7:25; Rom. 8:34; 1 John 2:1-2). God the Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit is the transforming agent who effectively imparts Christ’s new life to all who believe. He baptizes them into the body of Christ, dwells within all believers, seals them for the day of redemption, and empowers them in holiness and love with ministry-enhancing gifts to serve God and His church (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12-14; Eph. 1:13-14, Gal. 5:22-25). God the Father We believe that God the Father is the holy and loving Creator of all things. Unlimited in time, space, knowledge, and power, the Father has planned all that comes to pass. Although distinct from His creation, He is immanently at work in it (Ps. 139: 1-16; 1 Cor. 8:6; John 5:17). The Creation and Fall of Humanity We believe that all human beings are created in the image of God. Through Adam’s disobedience, we by nature became alienated from God, acquired a destructive disposition to sin, and came under the judicial sentence of spiritual and physical death (Gen. 1:25-27; Rom. 3:22-23; 5:12-21; Eph. 2:1-3, 12). Salvation We believe that salvation is the gift of God offered to all humanity by grace and received through repentance of sins and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that all true believers, having been justified by faith in Christ alone, shall be kept saved forever (Rom. 8:1, 38, 39; John 10:27-30; Phil. 1:6). This genuine faith results in fruitful works pleasing to God (Eph. 2:8-10; Tit. 2:11-14). The Church We believe the Church, having begun at Pentecost, is the body of Christ and the temple of the Holy Spirit, a spiritual community of all believers. Local gatherings of believers represent Christ’s presence on earth as they love one another and manifest Christ’s love to the world (Eph. 1:22-23, 5:25-27; 1 Cor. 12:12-14). Human Destiny We believe in the physical resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous: the righteous to eternal fellowship with God, the unrighteous to eternal punishment, and conscious separation from God (Mark 9:43-48; Rev. 20:15, 22:3-5, 11). We believe in the premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His literal future kingdom reign upon the earth, and in a glorious, new heaven and earth where redeemed humanity will dwell forever with God (1 Thess. 4:13-18; Zech. 14:4-11; Rev. 20:6). We are  Complementarian  on the biblical roles of men and women   in our homes and leadership structure. We are  pro-life . We are  open but cautious  on all of the New Testament Spiritual Gifts; We believe in essentials  unity , non-essentials  liberty,  and in all disagreements  charity . Learn More SENIORS The senior citizens of MBC are an essential part of the spiritual health of our church. In order to connect with one another, we offer a monthly seniors fellowship luncheon for anyone 55 years of age or older. See our events page for more details on dates and times.  Learn More TEENS Each week our teens gather on Friday evenings at 6:00 p.m. for MBC Youth Group, a time for students to connect with new friends, play fun games, and explore our faith in Jesus. Luminate Student Ministries trains students to shine the light of God's truth and love into the culture in which they live. Learn More LUMINATE MIDDLE SCHOOL MBC Middle Schoolers (6th-8th grade) meet each Sunday morning during the sermon portion of the worship service for a Bible Study in the youth wing of our gymnasium in the Luminate Middle School room. Learn More MBC KIDS MBC Kids meets each Sunday morning during the sermon portion of our worship service. Our MBC Kids staff offer a safe and fun environment in which kids are loved and the Bible is taught on their level. All children ages 3 through 5th grade are invited to attend.
