If you have branches, they must be tied in a bundle and cannot be larger than 18 inches by 3 feet. Household Battery Recycling: Scheduled in advance and placed in a clear plastic bag to the side of their garbage cart, residents may place out household batteries for pickup. CFLs Recycling: Scheduled in advance, place compact fluorescent lightbulbs in a clear plastic bag to the side of your garbage cart for pickup. Used Motor Oil Recycling Kits: Residents can request these kits, which include a free 6-quart oil container and a motor oil filter sleeve. Once the kit is full, contact Customer Service to schedule pickup. Holiday Tree Recycling: Scheduled in advance, holiday trees will be collected curbside on your regularly scheduled collection day. Trees must be undecorated, unflocked, and cut into 3-foot sections with the stand removed and placed next to your organics cart. Residents can drop off one bare, uncut Christmas tree per household at our Recycling Center + Transfer Station during regular business hours. There is no charge for tree drop-off until January 31. What is Treated Wood Waste (TWW)? Wood treated with a chemical preservative for protection against pests and environmental conditions is called treated wood. Treated wood that has reached the end of its usefulness is regarded as treated wood waste or TWW and should be disposed of only at composite-lined solid waste landfills. Treated Wood Waste Disposal: $228.25 per ton Mixed Treated Wood Waste Disposal: $261.25 per ton Please follow these steps when visiting Contra Costa Waste Services (RCTS): Enter the Construction and Demolition Scale to the left after the first stop sign at the facility. Notify the scale attendant you have Treated Wood Waste. The scale attendant will inspect your load and direct you where to dump it. Complete the quick customer form and submit it to the scale while completing your transaction. Recyclables: Residents are provided a blue 96-gallon cart for recyclables at no additional charge. Organics: Residents are provided a 96-gallon cart for organics (landscape + food waste) at no additional charge. Start Service Service Day Lookup Extra Curbside Services On-Call Pickups: Residents may request up to two (2) per calendar year at no additional cost. We will collect up to twelve (12) 32-gallon bags of household garbage or yard waste weighing no more than 50 pounds apiece. If you have branches, they must be tied in a bundle and cannot be larger than 18 inches by 3 feet. We will NOT pick up building or construction materials, furniture, lumber, logs, carpets, appliances, or e-waste. Each pickup must be one week apart and on your regular collection day. Bulky Item Pickup: Per calendar year on an on-call basis. Residents receive one (1) bulky item pickup. Item must be less than 200 lbs and may include an appliance, large furniture, or an electronic (e-waste) item. Used Motor Oil Recycling Kits: Residents can request these kits, which include a free 6-quart oil container and a motor oil filter sleeve. Once the kit is full, contact Customer Service to schedule pickup. Holiday Tree Recycling: Scheduled in advance, holiday trees will be collected curbside on your regularly scheduled collection day. Trees must be undecorated, unflocked, and cut into 3-foot sections with the stand removed and placed next to your organics cart. Residents can drop off one bare, uncut Christmas tree per household at our Recycling Center + Transfer Station during regular business hours. There is no charge for tree drop-off until January 31. Household Battery Recycling: Drop off household batteries in the Battery Recycling Containers inside the lobby of your local office during normal business hours. Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) CAN NOT go into your collection carts. When HHW ends up in the wrong place, it can cause truck or facility fires and severe threats to humans, wildlife, and the environment. Although Mt. Sharps + Pharmaceuticals Pharmaceuticals + Sharps: East County residents can drop off unwanted medications and sharps free of charge at the Delta Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility. Electronic Waste Electronic Waste (e-waste) such as TVs, computers, tablets, and cell phones cannot go into your containers. East County residents can drop off e-waste at no charge to Delta HHW .
