(Science, Engineering, Art) experiences, guided play, and social-emotional growth for every child. Schedule a visit About The Montana Preschool is a Vibrant International Community known for its warm, nurturing, and thoughtfully guided approach. We support young children who thrive with intention, routine, and purpose — children who are ready for meaningful exploration, deeper engagement, and joyful, purposeful learning. Founded in 2006 North of Montana in Santa Monica, The Montana Preschool is now proudly located at 2621 Wilshire Blvd. in a newly designed space inspired by the comfort of a modern home and the openness of a welcoming backyard environment — a setting where children feel safe, inspired, and ready to grow. Our Philosophy At Montana Preschool, we believe play is essential — but play alone is not enough. Children learn best when curiosity is met with intentional guidance, meaningful experiences, and strong, nurturing relationships. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that learning should be joyful, purposeful, and connected to real life. Through a thoughtfully blended, domain-specific approach, we guide children as they explore Science, Engineering through Construction, Art, Early Academics, Language Development, and Social-Emotional Growth. By rotating through dedicated learning environments and engaging in real-world and global experiences, children deepen their understanding, strengthen their confidence, build lasting friendships, and develop the skills they need to thrive — not only in school, but in life. Our Programs At Montana Preschool, we see children as capable, curious learners from the very beginning. Serving ages 18 months through 5 years, our programs balance purposeful play, meaningful exploration, and intentionally designed learning experiences — including daily enrichment classes that spark creativity, critical thinking, and global awareness, weekly cooking activities that nurture practical skills and curiosity, and weekly private piano lessons for every child to inspire musical growth and self-expression. In our warm and nurturing environment, children build confidence, develop friendships, and establish strong foundations for future learning — all while experiencing joy every day. Our toddler program honors young children as capable explorers who learn through hands-on discovery, rich sensory experiences, and secure relationships. As children grow into our 2s, 3s, 4s, and TK programs, learning expands beyond play alone into thoughtfully guided, domain-specific experiences that support deeper engagement and sustained focus. Through a developmentally responsive, blended approach, we lay the groundwork for lifelong social, emotional, and academic success. We also offer a gentle, supportive transition process to ensure each child feels safe, confident, and excited about beginning their school journey. Explore Programs Why Choose Us? Learn More The Montana Preschool continues to get great reviews from happy parents I can not recommend Montana Preschool highly enough. My daughter found a second home. The preschool is a product of pure love – genuine care, dedication, kindness, and warmth. This is the happy place!! For kids, it is a fun, safe, and nourishing haven to grow and learn with peers. The program is well thought out and has so much more to offer with enrichments. The teachers are loving and supportive. My daughter is an alumnus of Montana Preschool. We have such fond memories of growing up in this preschool. We had our choice of many others at the time. Looking back, I can only reflect on how happy I am we chose to grow up at Montana Preschool. In the mornings at drop off, I knew my daughter is left in a happy place where she was loved, well cared for and is and engaged in learning. Nutrition was very important to me. Knowing she had access to healthy organic nutritious meals and snacks was a blessing. I knew she was happy. When I’d show up for pickup, she never wanted to leave. These early formative years are the building blocks to a happy healthy well-balanced childhood. I am incredibly grateful to the founder for providing such a healthy start in life for my daughter. Evie G. We have been taking our 2.5-year-old son to this preschool for a while now, and our experience has been nothing short of fantastic. The new location is a standout, offering a bright, airy, and welcoming space that our son is always excited to explore. The commitment of the teachers to the students is palpable; they genuinely care for the well-being and development of each child, engaging them in activities that are both fun and educational. The management team is exceptional in their efforts to support parents, always making us feel valued and heard. They are readily available to discuss our son’s progress and have been incredibly accommodating to our family’s needs. The sense of community they’ve nurtured among parents and staff has provided us with great comfort and reassurance. Having our son in this preschool for the past year has been a joyous journey. We’ve watched him grow, learn, and thrive in an environment that is both loving and stimulating. We are deeply appreciative of being part of this preschool community and wholeheartedly recommend it to any parent seeking a nurturing place for their child to flourish. Brian F. We absolutely love Montana School. There is a warm, family-like atmosphere, and our child genuinely enjoys going every day. We moved to Montana when our son was 3 years old, after a difficult experience at another local preschool where he cried every morning and didn’t want to go. We stumbled upon Montana by chance and met Sigali, who welcomed us with open arms and offered so much support and understanding. We appreciated the school’s policy of allowing a month-long adaptation period, during which we could stay with our child. It made all the difference. We saw him fall in love with the place. Now, a year later, he wakes up excited and asks to go to school in the morning—there’s nothing more heartwarming for a parent. The staff was also incredibly considerate of our vegan lifestyle, which made us feel even more included and supported. We’re so grateful to be part of the Montana family and have truly enjoyed every moment there. Dana M. I have a three year old daughter and we’ve tried several preschools in the LA area and Montana Preschool is my absolute favorite. Not just that, because we travel a ton, I’ve put her in schools all over the world and Montana REALLY impressed us. It’s actually the first school I’ve had her stay for more than 4 hours. Sigali is incredibly thoughtful and accommodating, the teachers are SUPER creative and caring, I love the variety the space offers and the curriculum feels intentional and appropriate to their age. Every day is a new lesson about the world, about science, about nature, you name it. The teachers are always coming up with unique activities that I haven’t seen before. They put SO much care into their lessons, you really feel it. The other day, my daughter told me about a genius music composer named Wolfy Mozart 😆. I also love the outdoor space and the fact that there’s so much variety and intention built into the facility. Also a big fan of the lunch/snacks. I’m not usually one to participate as I’m a bit picky but I felt comfortable here that the meals provided were healthy, varied and home cooked. Super happy with this experience, I truly feel like they nurtured my daughter’s curiosity and they make a huge effort to know and support the kids’ individual interests. I think that’s part of the reason why my daughter settled in so well. Within the first few days, she was waving goodbye like it was no big deal. Can’t recommend it enough. Vanessa S. We love Montana preschool. My child has settled in wonderfully here. We love that they provide a warm, play based environment that allows our child to develop social skills. The teachers are lovely and I can tell our child thinks so too because whenever we go to do other lessons (swim etc.) she trusts teachers quickly because she’s had such a good experience with the teachers in preschool. It’s also great that they provide healthy snacks and meals, so no having to pack food each morning. We also like the ability to attend part-time and add more hours/days as our child got older and more comfortable if there is availability. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a preschool. Kathleen O’ C. We’ve been part of Montana Preschool since it relocated to the Wilshire location in January 2021. Our son loves going to school each day and he often doesn’t want to leave at pick-up! The staff is warm, compassionate, and engaged. They do a fantastic job catering to each child’s individual interests, which has made such a difference in our son’s confidence and growth. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully organized. They provide two nutritious meals and two snacks daily, which we really appreciate. The enrichment programs are another major plus, with offerings like music, hip hop, gymnastics, yoga, and soccer built into the weekly schedule. Sara A. We love Montana Preschool! It is walking distance from our home, we have met so many wonderful children and families, Sigali the Director is very creative and welcoming, she created a beautiful space for the kids to enjoy and explore every day. Our little one is excited and happy to go to school which is such a relief! The extracurriculars are so wonderful from soccer to yoga to theatre. A huge benefit is meals are provided and cooked in house. One major hook for us being that we don’t have family nearby is they offer parents night out 1x/month on a Saturday so we can have some us time!! There is certainly always room for growth and improvement as evolution takes place, but overall we are super happy and have enjoyed our experience! Rachel H. Everything I ever wanted in a preschool. Clean, tremendously organized, beautiful curriculum focusing on daily crafts, learning rhythm and music, learning about cultures and all holidays, body awareness and balance, and positive affirmations wellness and yoga. Special recognition to Sigali who has designed and constructed this school from the ground up and made her dream into a reality. I immediately felt trust, confidence, and excitement and joy for my daughter’s preschool journey, from the moment we toured the school I knew it was the one. We love Nicholas the theater teacher, Teacher Erika of course. My child has matured so much and built great social skills and vocabulary. She has surprised us with so many new talents because of all of the opportunities she has had to explore her creative interests at montana preschool. I am strongly considering defering enrollment into TK so she can continue to thrive there as a 4 year old. Miyako I. Montana Pre-School has been an absolutely wonderful place for my son, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care and attention he receives every day. From the very first visit, we felt welcomed by the friendly and professional staff. They truly go above and beyond to create a warm, nurturing, and safe environment where children can grow, learn, and have fun. One of the things I appreciate most is the sense of responsibility the team shows. Whether it’s drop-off, pick-up, or daily communication, everything is handled with care and professionalism. I always feel confident that my child is in good hands. The activities offered are creative, educational, and engaging. My son comes home excited to share what he did each day — from story time and crafts to group games and music. It’s clear that the curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support social, emotional, and cognitive development in a fun and age-appropriate way. Overall, Montana Pre-School has exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s a place where children thrive, and parents feel at ease. I highly recommend it to any family looking for a high-quality early education experience. Truly 5 stars for a 5-star school! Kamran K. My son started attending Montana Preschool a couple of months ago, and we absolutely love the experience! From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. The teachers are incredibly kind and sweet, always greeting us with smiles and genuine care. The owner, Sigali, is nothing short of amazing—a truly caring and dedicated person who goes above and beyond to create a nurturing environment for the children. The variety of activities offered at Montana Preschool is impressive and engaging. Each day, my son looks forward to participating in yoga, gymnastics, theater, dance, soccer, and many other exciting classes. It’s clear that the school places a strong emphasis on providing a well-rounded and enriching experience for the kids. One of the most heartwarming aspects of Montana Preschool is seeing how much the children love coming here. The environment is genuinely nurturing, positive, and fun. I’m so grateful to have found such a wonderful place for my son to learn and grow. If you’re looking for a preschool that combines compassionate care with a diverse range of activities, I highly recommend Montana Preschool! Tatiana S. Absolutely thrilled with our experience at this preschool in Santa Monica! The space, both indoors and outdoors, is expansive and well-utilized with a garden, sandbox, swings, slides, drawing, and music areas, etc. that keep the kids engaged and happy. The curriculum is impressive, teaching kids to count, learn the alphabet, play instruments, and even yoga and soccer. There’s even a small basketball court! The staff are wonderfully caring and attentive, making us feel secure in our choice. Additionally, the daycare offers homemade food prepared daily, featuring a very varied and healthy menu that shows how much our children’s well-being is a top priority for the staff, and it’s a relief not having to worry about packing a lunch box anymore. Plus, the opening hours are perfect for working parents, and the fees are very reasonable. Highly recommend! Gary S. I can not recommend Montana Preschool highly enough. They put SO much care into their lessons, you really feel it. The other day, my daughter told me about a genius music composer named Wolfy Mozart 😆. I also love the outdoor space and the fact that there’s so much variety and intention built into the facility. Also a big fan of the lunch/snacks. Vanessa S. Toddlers learn through hands-on exploration, strong relationships, and meaningful experiences that grow from their interests. Teachers carefully observe, listen, and respond to each child, creating an environment rich in sensory materials, open-ended play, and opportunities for communication and discovery. Learning unfolds through daily experiences where toddlers express themselves through movement, play, art, music, and early language. Our goal is to help each child feel secure, confident, and excited to explore their surroundings while building early social and communication skills. Preschool program (2-5 years) We believe that play alone is not enough — children benefit from experiences that are both joyful and intentionally designed for growth. Our curriculum blends academics with S.E.A. (Science, Engineering, and Art) activities that spark creativity, hands-on experimentation, and problem-solving alongside play-based learning. Children rotate through dedicated learning spaces, allowing them to fully engage in each area while experiencing variety and focus throughout the day. We also integrate real-life and global perspectives, connecting lessons to meaningful experiences from around the world. Each activity is thoughtfully guided to support cognitive development, language growth, social-emotional skills, and strong friendships. Our Curriculum At Montana Preschool, our curriculum is rooted in real-life experiences and global awareness, helping children form meaningful connections to the world around them. Learning is inspired by everyday events, seasonal changes, and world holidays and cultural celebrations explored throughout the year, with thoughtfully introduced monthly themes that bring depth and continuity to each experience. Through age-appropriate discussions, literature, music, art, cooking, hands-on exploration, and meaningful conversation, children are introduced to diverse traditions, values, and perspectives in an inclusive and respectful way. These experiences are intentionally woven into Science, Engineering through Construction, Art, Language Development, Early Academics, and Social-Emotional Learning — allowing children to connect new knowledge to real-life situations they recognize and care about. Our blended approach extends beyond the classroom. Children participate in daily enrichment classes, weekly cooking experiences that build practical life skills and confidence, and weekly private piano lessons that nurture focus, creativity, and self-expression. Field trips and real-world explorations further deepen learning, transforming concepts into lived experiences and strengthening children’s understanding of their community and the broader world. Guided by intentional teaching and strong relationships, children develop empathy, curiosity, independence, and critical thinking skills. More than learning facts, they build a strong academic and social foundation — preparing them not only for kindergarten, but for life. Enrichment Classes Our enrichment program is an integral part of the Montana Preschool experience, designed to expand learning beyond the core curriculum and nurture the whole child. Children participate in daily enrichment classes that deepen their exploration through thoughtfully guided experiences build creativity, focus, confidence, and critical thinking skills while exposing children to new ideas and talents.
