Students in Action All-Around Excellence Jenna Kim is an active member of our school community, thriving in her roles as part of the Associated Student Government, Diversity Council, and Pacifica Podcast. In addition, she is also a wonderful TaeKwonDo training instructor outside of school. “At Pacifica, I have realized how much the people I choose to be around influence who I am and my life. Being around people who want the best for me, love me, and whom I support and encourage in the same way has allowed me to form a healthy community within the school.” - Jenna Kim Creative by Design Peyton Gendall  came to Pacifica wanting to grow in art, athletics, leadership, and purpose — and she's done exactly that. A varsity volleyball player and student government member, she also curated an exhibition for the school's winter art gallery and founded Carry Kind Tote Bags, a line of handmade upcycled bags that raises funds for Cystic Fibrosis research.  “When I was choosing a high school I was looking for a place where I could pursue growth in a variety of disciplines like art, athletics, leadership and faith. My two older siblings had flourished at Pacifica, so that helped make it a natural choice for me.” - Peyton Gendall Making a Mark Dedication, passion, and skill — that’s what Langston Brown brings to the table with his various roles in the Pacifica community. At present, he is involved in STEM Scholars, managing the Varsity Basketball team, Track & Field, and the Mentor/Mentee Program. While he enjoys and flourishes in extracurriculars, Langston mentions that his favorite part of the student experience is the high-level academics and smaller class sizes. “One thing that I have discovered about myself while at Pacifica is that learning is not just about knowing the material; it's about expanding your mind, and I think that's amazing.” - Langston Brown READY TO EXPERIENCE PACIFICA? Families applying to more than one independent school may find the SAO to be convenient. The choice of platform has no bearing on admission decisions. The application fee is $75, and a GPA of 3.0 and above is recommended. Step 2: Request Official Transcripts Official transcripts from the first semester of the student’s current year and at least two prior full years are required. Transcripts are requested directly through your application portal and will be emailed to whom you specify. Step 3: Request Recommendations We require three recommendations: one from a school administrator, a current math teacher, and a current English teacher. Recommendations are requested directly through your application portal and will be emailed to whom you specify. You should make your requests approximately four weeks (or sooner) prior to the application due date. Step 4: Complete Questionnaires Both parents and students have several short questions which they need to answer. There is also a 300-500 word essay required of each student applicant. These items help us get a bigger picture of the applicant and a sense of why they are interested in Pacifica. OPTIONAL: Character Skills Snapshot In addition to recommendations, all applicants to Pacifica are strongly recommended to take the Character Skills Snapshot as part of our holistic evaluation of each child. Grades and test scores are only a partial representation of each candidate. The snapshot is a brief online assessment that lends us richer information and illuminates areas where Pacifica can help your child grow and thrive.
