We engage Palo Altans, tell stories of community collaboration, and invest in programs and initiatives that are not financed in the city's annual budget, all to deepen appreciation and relationships. Join us as we embark on our 2022-23 activities including: Advocacy and Raising Funds  With your investment, we hope to support key activities including: Citizen Academy, the Parent Project, Police Explorers, officer wellness and training including communication and crisis training, beds for officers with long commutes, and youth scholarships.  Service Whether promoting the holiday toy drive, providing Thanksgiving dinner for officers on duty, or supporting the department’s annual family event, we volunteer to build morale and ensure members of the Palo Alto Police Department feel our appreciation. Connection Serving those who serve us We are a special community filled with people who have a common desire to sustain safe communities across all economic strata and cultures, no matter the political affiliation. We support our public safety staff in small and larger ways -- smiling or waving at a patrol officer, serving meals to the staff who work on holidays, providing useful gifts for family events, and partnering on Night Out each August. If you have the capacity to help others through time, talent, or treasure and want to join our efforts let us know! We are particularly working to develop a listing of founding members for this new foundation to announce in concert with the new Public Safety Building this fall. Please join us! One of the primary visions of the Palo Alto Police Foundation is supporting dialog between the Police Department and the public. Creating moments or occasions to allow thoughtful conversation in a safe setting because we think what bonds us together is greater than what drives us apart. PALO ALTO POLICE FOUNDATION P.O. We accomplish this by supporting projects and building partnerships with collaborating community and government organizations. The foundation will raise funds to invest in projects, programs, equipment and initiatives for which there are no current funding sources. “ The Palo Alto Police Department is excited to work with the Foundation to build and sustain relationships between those who serve and our community. Let’s build this bridge together! ” — Andrew Binder, Chief of Police Palo Alto Police Foundation does not fund: Salaries & benefits for Police Department officers and employees.
