Dial-A-Ride vehicles travel to areas within three-quarters of a mile of an RTA local fixed route. These areas are called the "Dial-A-Ride service area" and trips must begin and end in that service area. If your trip starts or ends outside the service area, you will need to find a safe place within the service area to be picked up and dropped off to use the service. Dial-A-Ride service is provided at times equivalent to local fixed-route bus service in that area.  Please note that all RTA fixed route buses are accessible to persons with disabilities. All buses are equipped with wheelchair ramps or wheelchair lifts. Audible announcements of all bus stops are made on all buses. ADA Priority Dial-A-Ride service is available to those individuals who are unable to use fixed-route bus service due to their disability. Download the Dial-A-Ride Service Guide: ENGLISH ESPAÑOL 简体中文 RTA has three types of Dial-A-Ride service: ADA PRIORITY DIAL-A-RIDE SERVICE RTA provides Dial-A-Ride service to individuals who are certified under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Persons who are ADA-certified are eligible for trips throughout the RTA service area that are within three-quarters of a mile of local fixed-route bus service and during the hours of bus service operation. Individuals who are ADA certified are eligible to bring a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) at no cost if your ADA card permits. A companion or child may come along and will be required to pay a fare. Before you can schedule a trip on ADA priority service you must first apply and be certified for the service.  Complete an application and have your physician or licensed professional complete a Healthcare Professional Verification Form. Click here for information on how to apply for ADA priority Dial-A-Ride service. SENIOR/DISABLED DIAL-A-RIDE SERVICE Seniors age 65 and above and persons with disabilities are eligible for local Dial-A-Ride service within a single city and within three-quarters of a mile of local fixed-route bus service during the hours of bus service operation. Transportation is provided only within the city in which your trip begins.  To schedule a ride on local Senior/Disabled Dial-A-Ride service, simply call 1-800-795-7887 to establish a local record and book your trip. No application is required. On your first trip you will be required to present proof of disability or age eligibility (65+) at the pick-up location. Photo identification will also be required for each trip. DIAL-A-RIDE PLUS LIFELINE SERVICE This program provides access to lifeline services for those who are outside the three-quarter mile boundary and have no other transportation options. Trips are restricted to life-sustaining services and provide an additional two-mile radius of the fixed-route boundary. Passenger fares will be identical to those charged for traditional Dial-A-Ride service. Eligible participants must be 65 or older or must have a disability that creates a need for specialized transportation. Service will be provided using wheelchair accessible taxis, currently being utilized under the Agency’s taxi overflow services contract. These trips will be coordinated using the existing Dial-A-Ride trip process. To check your eligibility for the Dial-A-Ride Plus Lifeline Service, call the RTA Customer Information Center at (951) 565-5002. OTHER DIAL-A-RIDE SERVICES RTA provides Dial-A-Ride service in the following cities: Banning*, Beaumont*, Canyon Lake, Corona*, Eastvale, Hemet, Jurupa Valley, Lake Elsinore, Moreno Valley, Menifee, Murrieta, Norco, Perris, Riverside*, San Jacinto, Temecula, Wildomar and the unincorporated areas of Riverside County Supervisorial Districts I, II, III and V. *Please note that your city may be served by another transit provider. Banning, Beaumont, Corona and Riverside operate their own Dial-A-Ride service. Banning Dial-A-Ride: (951) 922-3252 Beaumont Dial-A-Ride: (951) 769-8532 Corona Dial-A-Ride: (951) 734-7220 Riverside Special Transportation: (951) 687-8080 FARES The base fare for Dial-A-Ride service is $3.50 per passenger, per boarding. The maximum fare is $10.50 per one-way trip and will be based on the number of city zones you travel. Depending on where your trip begins and ends, you may be required to transfer. Exact fare for the entire trip is required and must be paid upon boarding your first bus. Drivers cannot give change. When you schedule your trip, the reservationist will tell you the fare required for that trip. If you are ADA certified and require assistance with your trip, you may travel with a personal Care Attendant (PCA). If eligible, your PCA may accompany you at no charge and an additional companion may ride for $3.50 per fare zone. Additional companions may travel with you if space is available. All companions must pay the full fare. If you plan to bring a child as a companion, and the child is under 46 inches tall, they may ride for 75 cents per fare zone. The PCA or companions must board and exit the vehicle at the same locations as the rider being assisted. BUDDY FARE The Buddy Fare is a great way to save money on Dial-A-Ride. With this special program, two to 10 eligible customers can share the fare for each fare zone. The entire group must be picked up within a half-mile radius of each other and travel to the same destination. Contact Us RIVERSIDE TRANSIT AGENCY OFFICES 1825 Third Street P.O. The fareboxes will accept coins, cash and passes. Passes are the size of a credit card, printed on sturdy paper with a magnetic stripe on the back. Rather than showing your pass to the driver, you will swipe your pass in the farebox similar to using an ATM card. For cash fares, please use exact fare only. No change will be issued from either the fareboxes or the drivers. To avoid delays, use quarters instead of smaller coins. Dial-A-Ride buses use standard fareboxes and only accept cash, coins and paper tickets. 1-Day passes may be purchased on the bus. 7-Day and 30-Day passes are not sold on the bus but may be ordered online, through the mail or from one of our several pass sales outlets.
