Once people feel good about this, the number two question is: all right, how does the switching actually work? That's a different discussion (and we've written about it in detail ). For this one, I want to focus on the decision itself: what makes it worth it. We did an analysis of stores that switched to Rundoo. We took their go-live date, looked at the year before and the year after, and measured what changed. On average, we saw: 17% increase in revenue 25% reduction in receivables 2% increase in gross margin I want to have a caveat up front: I'm not going to sit here and say you're going to grow 17%. There is definitely some selection bias in this metric. People who invest in growth tend to see more of it. We have one client that's gone from one to five locations, and they're going to pull that average up. But even looking at the median, the numbers are still well above inflation. The other two, especially the receivables reduction, I actually do think we're consistently driving. So let's dig into each. ROI: Revenue, Outstanding, Improve Margin I'm a sucker for a memorable acronym, so I turned these three into ROI : return on investment. 📈 Revenue (+17%): Grow your top line 💳 Outstanding (-25%): Get paid faster ✏️ Improve Margin (+2%): Keep more of what you make For each of these, there's a how and a feature that drives it. Revenue (+17%) We typically see revenue growth driven by increased share of wallet with existing large customers. Revenue can grow in a whole bunch of ways: higher base prices, new customers from a great Facebook campaign. But what we usually see as the primary cause is your largest customers, the top 50, spending more with you. Why? A lot of it comes down to a better customer experience. They walk into the store, there's a nice card reader, they've got better insight into everything they're doing. And in particular, we hear very positive feedback on the customer app . Contractors can see their quotes, will calls, pay down their bills, and check their prices all in one place. At this point, we have over 5,000 users on the app. The key with any app is that it's useless if no one's using it. So how do they get on? If they have a phone number in your system, they put in that number, get a text, and they're logged on. How do they learn it exists? There's a QR code on all your receipts. When you send out statements, that's usually when we see people convert: "hey, if you want to pay your bill, scan it here and pay in the app." Outstanding (-25%) The thing I tell people all the time: 90% of your customers want to pay you. The 10% that don't, you can't do anything about. Those are going to be an absolute pain regardless. But for that 90%, just make it really easy to get paid. With Rundoo, when customers get their statements, they can go in the app, hook up a credit card or a bank account for ACH with lower fees, and set up autopay . Sometimes on go-live day, the owner is in the store saying "hey, you should check out this app, want to set up autopay?" And they're just getting everyone enrolled. If you have a back office person who's calling people to collect anyway, part of their routine becomes: every time you call someone, ask them to set up autopay. We see a spike in payments on the first of every month at 2 AM. That's all the autopays running. Card saving is fully PCI compliant. You can't see the details. We actually can't even see the details. Improve Margin (+2%) This is where I've actually seen AI operate best. You can ask it things like: where can I improve my margin? What am I selling too high or too low? What special prices do I have that I set up with a contractor three years ago and haven't updated? Oftentimes with margin, you can have five conversations with AI in 30 minutes and come out with ideas to change pricing. It can work the price side or the cost side. If you get the same product from two vendors, you can tell it to always order from the lower-cost source. One of our clients discovered through the Daily AI Summary that a contractor had been buying a product at cost for ten weeks because of a mis-entered custom price. The contractor acknowledged the mistake, and the store recovered over $4,200 in lost margin. These are the quiet leaks that are nearly impossible to find in reports but exactly the kind of thing AI surfaces. What next? The framing is simple: switching to a modern POS should deliver real ROI. R evenue growth, O utstanding reduction, and I mproved margins. Find out what Rundoo can do for your business Learn how Rundoo can help you save time, money and hassle running your business. (BCI), one of the most respected wholesale distributors in the independent retail space, serving farm, ranch, hardware, and pet supply dealers across the Northeast and Midwest from their headquarters in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1930, Bradley Caldwell has spent nearly a century building a distribution network that independent retailers actually trust, the kind of distributor where store owners know their rep by name and the warehouse team understands the difference between a customer who needs fifty pounds of wild bird seed and one who needs fifty pounds of horse feed. BCI distributes over 23,000 products across four core categories: Pet, Equine and Livestock, Lawn and Garden, and Farm and Home, with coverage stretching from Maine through the Mid-Atlantic and into parts of the Midwest. Why this matters The independent retailers in BCI's network are a special breed of store owner. They're running operations where a customer might walk in for chicken feed, leave with a new garden hose, and stop to ask about the best way to keep deer out of a vegetable patch on the way to the register. These stores win on knowledge, trust, and the kind of hands-on service that no online retailer can replicate, but managing inventory across pet, farm, garden, and home categories with the tools most of these stores are running today is like trying to organize a barn with a filing cabinet. Rundoo gives BCI retailers a single, modern platform for POS, inventory, and vendor management that's built for the way supply stores actually operate. Instead of juggling disconnected systems or wrestling with software designed for a restaurant or a boutique, BCI store owners get a system that understands mixed product categories, complex supplier relationships, and seasonal buying patterns. Trade Shows Bradley Caldwell hosts two dealer shows each year out of their home base in Pennsylvania, bringing together independent retailers from across their distribution footprint for product previews, vendor meetings, and the kind of hallway conversations that only happen when you put a few hundred farm-and-feed store owners in the same room. Show floor space is in high demand, with warehouse vendors getting first pick and recent shows selling out entirely, which tells you something about how seriously BCI's dealer community takes their buying events. Rundoo is working to expand our presence at BCI shows, and we'd love to connect with BCI retailers at upcoming events. If you're heading to the next Bradley Caldwell show, keep an eye out for us and come say hello. We'll walk you through what an AI-powered POS looks like for a store that carries everything from horse feed to garden hose, and we promise not to make too many pet puns (no guarantees on the garden ones). Rundoo gives Lancaster dealers a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management, all connected to Lancaster's systems so the data moves where it needs to go and the store owner doesn't have to play middleman between their distributor and their point of sale. Why this matters Lancaster has built its reputation as one of the industry's go-to distributors for paint sundries, and the independent retailers they serve are exactly the kind of stores that make communities better: locally owned, deeply knowledgeable, and run by people who can tell you which brush to use before you even finish describing the project. Those stores win on expertise, relationships, and personalized service, but keeping that edge gets harder when the owner is spending their morning re-keying purchase orders or trying to figure out whether the cost on that new roller line is from last month's price list or the updated one. Rundoo fills that gap with a single system that connects to Lancaster natively. EDI ordering already flows between Rundoo and Lancaster automatically, with catalog loads, receiving, and price updates on the way. Integrations Rundoo connects directly with Lancaster's EDI systems so store owners can spend less time toggling between portals and more time helping customers pick the perfect roller cover, or at least convincing them that yes, they really do need painter's tape. Live Ordering Place purchase orders from Rundoo directly to Lancaster over a secure EDI connection. Orders transmit automatically as 850 documents, so nobody has to re-key anything into a separate system or wonder whether that PO actually made it through. In Progress Catalog Lancaster's product catalog loaded directly into Rundoo with UPCs, descriptions, and cost information, giving your team a single source of truth for everything Lancaster distributes without maintaining a separate spreadsheet that somehow always has last quarter's prices. Receiving When Lancaster ships an order, the advance ship notice and invoice details will load automatically into Rundoo so you can receive against what was actually sent, confirm quantities, and get back to your day. Price Updates Automatic price and catalog updates from Lancaster so your retail and cost prices stay current without anyone manually cross-referencing a PDF that arrived three weeks ago. Trade Shows Lancaster hosts buying shows throughout the year, including their flagship show in Orlando, where independent retailers from across their network gather to discover new products, meet vendors, and talk shop with the kind of people who actually understand what it's like to run an independent store. Rundoo is there on the show floor, demoing the platform, swapping stories with store owners, and generally having a better time than anyone has a right to at a trade show. At the 2026 Lancaster Show in Orlando, the Rundoo team was out in full force, connecting with Lancaster dealers, presenting the platform, and hosting a happy hour because nothing pairs better with a good software demo than a cold drink and a conversation about paint sundries. Lancaster's own territory managers have been recommending Rundoo to their dealer networks as a POS partner for paint, hardware, feed, and supply stores, which is about the best endorsement you can get in this industry. Heading to the next Lancaster show? Come find us. We'll walk you through what AI-powered ordering looks like when it's connected directly to Lancaster's systems, and we promise to keep the puns to a reasonable minimum. This partnership connects Rundoo's all-in-one ERP, CRM, POS, and general ledger platform directly with Benjamin Moore's systems, giving store owners a seamless way to manage inventory, sales, customers, and financial data from a single, AI-powered interface. Why this matters Independent paint and supply stores are the backbone of Benjamin Moore's distribution model. Unlike big-box retailers, these stores rely on personal relationships and local expertise, but all too often, their business needs aren't met by decades-old technology. Currently, busy store owners juggle disconnected systems for POS, inventory, ordering, and accounting, wasting hours on manual work that should take seconds. By leveraging AI-first tools, Rundoo is making a change here. Our platform replaces the patchwork of legacy tools with a single, unified system. From generating smarter purchase orders based on historical data to surfacing customers with late balances, Rundoo gives store owners back the time to do what they do best: serve their customers. What this partnership delivers Seamless Benjamin Moore integration: Connect directly to Benjamin Moore's product catalog and ordering system. Unified operations: POS, inventory, CRM, payments, and general ledger in one platform; no more toggling between systems. AI-powered ordering: Generate optimized purchase orders using historical sales data and seasonal trends. Real-time reporting: Ask Rundoo AI about your business performance and get instant, actionable answers on how your Benjamin Moore products are performing. New Entrepreneur Program (NEP) Opening a paint store is exciting, terrifying, and filled with a truly impressive number of decisions to make before the doors even open. Benjamin Moore's New Entrepreneur Program helps aspiring store owners navigate that journey, and Rundoo is right there alongside it. If you're part of the NEP, you'll get a platform that's fully integrated with Benjamin Moore from the start, complete with catalog syncing, electronic ordering, tint system connections, and all the AI-powered tools that make running a store feel less like wrestling a spreadsheet and more like, well, running a store. Whether you're a first-time business owner or a seasoned retailer launching a new location, Rundoo's onboarding team works directly with NEP participants to get everything connected and configured before your grand opening. Because nobody wants to spend their first week in business debugging an EDI connection when there are paint chips to fan out and contractors to charm. "I'm super excited about this partnership, taking a premium paint company like Benjamin Moore, 142 years in the business, and partnering with such a great point of sale company in Rundoo; the sky is the limit." Glenn Pinnel, Chief Information Officer, Benjamin Moore Integrations Rundoo connects directly with Benjamin Moore's systems so store owners can spend less time wrestling with data entry and more time helping customers pick the perfect shade of Decorator's White (yes, there are several). Trade Shows Benjamin Moore doesn't host their own trade shows, but you'll regularly find Rundoo and Benjamin Moore side by side at industry events. We're regulars at the biannual AllPro shows, the annual Lancaster shows, and a handful of other conferences throughout the year where paint store owners, reps, and the people who keep this industry running all end up in the same room (usually near the coffee). If you're heading to one of these shows, swing by the Rundoo booth and say hello. We'll be the ones demoing AI-powered purchase orders while making terrible paint puns. Rundoo gives Do it Best members a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management, all connected to Do it Best's systems so the data moves itself and the owner can get back to the floor. Why this matters Do it Best is a member-owned cooperative, which means the stores in its network are independent businesses run by real owners with real stakes in their communities. These stores win on service, expertise, and relationships, but that edge is hard to sustain when the owner is manually re-entering purchase orders, reconciling price files by hand, or trying to figure out why their POS costs don't match what Do it Best just invoiced them. Rundoo fills that gap with a single platform that speaks Do it Best's language natively. The integration handles catalog loads, order transmission, shipment confirmation, price changes, and warehouse inventory automatically, so store owners spend less time moving data between systems and more time running their business. Integrations Rundoo connects directly with Do it Best's systems so store owners can spend less time chasing down price files and more time helping customers find whatever obscure fastener or mystery lumber size they're convinced exists. Live Catalog Do it Best's full product catalog loads directly into Rundoo via POSLOADS files, including UPCs, descriptions, costs, retail pricing tiers, department codes, and order multiples. Your inventory is always working from the same data Do it Best sends you. Ordering Place purchase orders from Rundoo directly to Do it Best over a secure EDI connection. Rundoo generates the fixed-width purchase order file and transmits it automatically, so you never have to log into a separate portal or retype an order by hand. Receiving When Do it Best ships an order, the order confirmation and shipment details load automatically into Rundoo. Line items, quantities shipped, and member cost come in ready to receive, with no manual entry required. Price Changes Do it Best price change files flow into Rundoo automatically, keeping your member costs and retail prices accurate without anyone having to touch a spreadsheet. Promotional price changes are tracked separately so temporary pricing never accidentally becomes permanent. RSC On Hand Daily warehouse inventory files from Do it Best's Regional Service Centers give you visibility into what's actually in stock before you place an order, so you can order smarter and set better expectations with customers. Item Maintenance When Do it Best discontinues a product, updates a UPC, or changes item details, Rundoo picks it up automatically from the FILEMNT files so your catalog stays clean without manual cleanup. Rundoo gives Florida Hardware dealers a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management. Integrations with Florida Hardware's distribution systems are on our roadmap; once complete, the data will move itself and the owner can stop playing middleman between their point of sale and their distributor's portal. Why this matters Florida Hardware has been serving independent retailers from their home base in Jacksonville, Florida, with the kind of personal service and deep product knowledge that only an independent distributor can deliver. Their network spans the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, supported by distribution centers in both Florida and Virginia, so whether you're running a hardware store in the panhandle or a supply shop in the Shenandoah Valley, your orders are shipping from a warehouse that's actually in your region. The independent stores in Florida Hardware's network win on relationships, local expertise, and the willingness to stock exactly what their community needs, but maintaining that edge gets harder when the owner is spending their evenings reconciling purchase orders between disconnected systems. Florida Hardware's own delivery trucks run weekly routes to their dealers, and integrations are planned to help stores keep pace with that rhythm. Rundoo fills the gap with a single system that will speak Florida Hardware natively once integrations are built. Catalog data, FTP-based order transmission, automated receiving, and price change processing are all on our roadmap. Trade Shows Florida Hardware hosts Dealer Markets for their independent retail network, bringing together store owners from across the Southeast for product buying, vendor introductions, and the kind of hallway conversations that turn into lasting business relationships. Rundoo is there on the show floor (booths 916 through 918 at the Spring 2026 show, if you were wondering), demoing the platform and talking shop with store owners who are ready for software that works the way they do. Florida Hardware's reps are also out in the field every week visiting stores, and they've been known to make introductions between Rundoo and retailers who are looking for something better than what they're running today. If your Florida Hardware rep mentions us, they're not just making small talk; they've seen the platform in action and thought of you. Come say hello at the next Dealer Market, or just ask your rep to connect us. Either way, we'll have stickers. Referral Program Florida Hardware participates in the Rundoo Referral Program . When Florida Hardware's reps refer an independent supply store that goes live with Rundoo, the rep receives a $500 thank-you, and the store gets 25% off their one-time implementation fee. What are your long-term plans? Do you want to sell Rundoo? The first time a retailer asked me these questions, I was a little taken aback. Most questions we get are about ROI , the switching process , or specific features. But over time, I've come to learn that these are very reasonable questions, and that some prospects actually feel sheepish asking them. It feels too personal, so even though it's on their mind, they won't bring it up. I want to start by validating the question: I get it. Why it's a fair question Your POS is the technological bloodstream of your business. It captures information and gets it to the right place. You need to know that the company behind it is stable, that it isn't going to suddenly disappear and leave you in the lurch. This is true of any key vendor: you should make sure your biggest suppliers aren't going anywhere and that their strategy aligns with yours. The second reason is unfortunately specific to the industries we play in. Almost all of our competitors have been acquired by conglomerates, and when they acquire, the same playbook runs: support moves overseas, product innovation stops, prices go up, and the service starts deteriorating. It has happened again and again and again. So if you're a little guarded when a new software company shows up and asks for your trust, I completely understand. You've been burned before. Though we're still asking for a leap of faith, my hope is that this article eases that anxiety. We have no intention of selling First and foremost, Andrew and I have no intention of selling the company. We have received multiple acquisition offers in recent years. Though flattered, we didn't entertain them and don't plan to entertain any. We both love doing this and are grateful to see many working years ahead of us. We want to keep growing our impact during our limited time on earth, and Rundoo feels like the best way to do it. Importantly, as we have raised capital from investors, we have maintained veto rights on any acquisition, and we plan to only accept capital that lets us maintain those rights. Your businesses inspire us If I had tons of money, this is still what I'd want to do. We help hundreds of families of entrepreneurs grow their businesses as their key technology partner. These businesses in turn employ thousands of people and support millions more in their communities. It is a responsibility and opportunity we adore, and we don't want to stop. What makes it even more meaningful is the durability of the businesses we serve. We work with stores that have been in the same family for two and three generations, stores that survived recessions, big-box expansion, supply chain disruptions, and natural disasters. That kind of longevity doesn't happen by accident. It happens because you care deeply about what you do and the people you serve, and because you make decisions with a long time horizon in mind. We want to build something like that. The supply store industry thinks in decades, and we think that's the right way to think. We're in good financial shape Second, we are in good financial shape. We have raised venture funding (and may continue to do so!) specifically because we see a large opportunity ahead of us. However, our core business model makes money, so we can switch to profitability whenever we want. We aren't selling $1 for $0.99. It comes down to trust So many business relationships come down to trust. When a customer buys a product at your store, they trust it'll help them with their project. When you hire an employee, you trust that they can do some independent work; otherwise, what are they really doing for you? I know that you are taking a leap of faith in putting your trust in us. You aren't an expert in technology, and you want a partner that is committed to your success for the long term. Andrew and I feel that way. We're not going anywhere. Rundoo gives True Value dealers a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management, all integrated directly with True Value so the data moves itself and the owner doesn't have to. Why this matters True Value's network of approximately 5,000 independently owned hardware stores wins on service, relationships, and deep product knowledge. But that edge gets harder to maintain when the owner is buried in manual data entry, reconciling invoices across three systems, or placing warehouse orders through a separate portal because the POS doesn't talk to the distributor. Rundoo fills that gap with a single system that has True Value's product catalog, pricing, and ordering built right in. Integrations Rundoo connects directly with True Value's systems so store owners can spend less time on manual data entry and more time helping customers find exactly what they need, even when that thing is a 3/8" left-hand thread bolt. Live Catalog True Value's full product catalog, including UPCs, descriptions, costs, retail pricing tiers, and fineline hierarchy, loads directly into Rundoo and stays current with weekly automatic updates. Ordering Place purchase orders from Rundoo directly to True Value with suggestions and warnings for minimum quantities and pack sizes. No more logging into a separate portal or re-keying orders by hand. Receiving When True Value ships an order, the invoice and shipment details load automatically into Rundoo for a seamless receiving workflow. Price Updates True Value price changes flow into Rundoo automatically on a weekly basis, so your retail and cost prices stay accurate without anyone lifting a finger. RDC Balance Daily updates from True Value's Regional Distribution Centers give you real-time visibility into your account balance and available inventory. Item Maintenance When True Value discontinues a product, changes a UPC, or updates item details, Rundoo picks it up automatically so your catalog stays accurate without manual cleanup. AllPro has spent more than 60 years building a cooperative network of roughly 500 independent paint retailers across the United States, and Rundoo is proud to be part of the vendor program that supports them. For AllPro members, Rundoo provides a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, accounting, and vendor management, all connected to the manufacturers and distributors that paint stores already work with. The AllPro partnership means members get exclusive pricing, streamlined billing, and a direct line to Rundoo's team at every AllPro show. Why this matters Independent paint retailers are in a tough spot. National chains keep opening locations, big-box stores keep expanding their paint aisles, and the local store owner who actually knows the difference between eggshell and satin is left competing on service while managing disconnected software systems that were never designed to talk to each other. AllPro exists to give those independents collective strength, and Rundoo exists to give them technology that's finally built for how they actually run their businesses. Together, the partnership means AllPro members don't have to choose between modern technology and the buying group benefits they rely on. Rundoo's integrations with major paint manufacturers like Benjamin Moore and Pittsburgh Paints are already live, so members who adopt Rundoo get a platform that connects directly to the suppliers they're already ordering from, along with AI-powered tools for smarter purchasing, customer management, and financial reporting. Integrations Rundoo is an approved AllPro supplier, which means AllPro members get exclusive pricing, consolidated billing through AllPro, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing your buying group has already vetted the software running your store. Live Ordering (EDI 850) Place purchase orders from Rundoo directly to AllPro over a secure EDI 850 connection. No separate portal, no re-keying line items, no crossing your fingers that the price you sent matches the price they received. Trade Shows AllPro hosts two shows a year, a spring show and a fall stockholder meeting, and Rundoo is there for both. These are the events where independent paint store owners come together to meet vendors, talk strategy, and compare notes on what's working in their businesses (and what isn't). Rundoo is on the show floor demoing the platform, answering questions, and occasionally winning people over with purchase order automation that's far more exciting than it has any right to be. AllPro members who sign up with Rundoo during a show receive a 25% discount on their one-time implementation fee, because good decisions made at trade shows should come with a reward that outlasts the complimentary tote bag. Find yours below to see exactly what data we bring over, hear from stores who've made the move, and learn what to expect. Want the full story? Read our deep dive on what happens when you switch . Epicor Eagle Epicor Eagle is the most common system we migrate hardware and farm stores from. We've built deep tooling around Eagle's data export format, and your implementation manager has done this one many times. → Decor Fusion Decor Fusion is the most common system we migrate paint stores from. We know the Decor data model inside and out, and our implementation team has refined this migration path across dozens of stores. → Paladin A staple in hardware stores for decades, Paladin is one of the most common systems we see clients switching from. Our parser covers nearly every data type Paladin exports. → QuickBooks POS Intuit discontinued QuickBooks Point of Sale in October 2023, and many stores have come to Rundoo since. We bring over your products, customers, pricing, sales history, and more. → RockSolid Whether you're on RockSolid MAX or the original RockSolid, we've migrated hardware stores off both versions for years. Our parser covers custom pricing, jobs, and detailed aging. → Clover Clover works well for restaurants and coffee shops, but supply stores need charge accounts, contractor pricing, and real inventory management. That's where Rundoo comes in. → Square Square gets stores off paper fast, but supply stores outgrow it just as fast. Charge accounts, contractor billing, and real inventory management aren't Square's thing. They're ours. → QuickBooks Desktop A lot of stores use QuickBooks Desktop as their de facto POS, but it was never really built for the counter. Rundoo brings over your data and gives you a system designed for how supply stores actually sell. → Lightspeed Lightspeed is a polished retail platform, but supply stores consistently hit its ceiling on charge accounts, contractor billing, and industry-specific workflows. Rundoo picks up where Lightspeed leaves off. → Shopify Shopify is a strong ecommerce platform, and a lot of supply stores use it well for that. Where it tends to fall short is at the counter, where decimal quantities, charge accounts, and contractor pricing are non-negotiable. Rundoo handles the counter so your Shopify store can stay focused on online. → No POS If your store still runs on handwritten invoices and a stack of carbon copies, you're not behind, you've just been waiting for a system worth switching to. Rundoo is built for stores making the leap from paper to POS for the first time. → Don't see your system? We've probably done it anyway. We regularly add new parsers, and our implementation team has a knack for figuring out creative data migrations. Reach out and we'll tell you exactly what we can do. In this article, I want to answer two questions: Why we changed to AI-first? How have we seen clients use Rundoo AI? Why we changed to AI-first As I have leveraged large language models since the November 2022 launch of ChatGPT, I have been struck at both how good they are and how rapidly they are improving. In particular, Opus 4.5 released in November 2025 seemed to be a step-change improvement in how well LLMs can leverage tools and take action in the world. At their current state, the opportunities these tools unlock are tremendous. And if progress continues on this path, the opportunities are nearly overwhelming. We decided a rebrand was in place to emphasize our confidence in the impact of AI to the operations of supply stores. We realized that the ramifications of AI were so wide-reaching that they impacted almost everything we did. As such, we chose the phrase AI-first , which has a simple action: try AI first. We have taken this approach internally: any time we need to do something (write code, announce a new feature, take notes in a meeting, strategize markets, or anything else), we try to use AI first. It works frequently enough that the overhead to always try to incorporate AI is worth it. We implore our clients to do the same: for each process in your business, try to use AI. The results have been somewhat mind-blowing. (If you're not sure where to start, our practical guide to AI for store owners walks you through a three-week plan to build real habits.) How have we seen clients use Rundoo AI? As I have watched clients use Rundoo AI, I would roughly classify how clients use it into three levels. I'm a sucker for a memorable acronym, so these all start with an A: Analyze : these are questions. Any given week, we see 70-90% of clients use Rundoo AI for some question they would have previously used reports for (or simply not checked) Act : these are requests. Rundoo AI modifies data, sends information. The buzz word here would be agentic, and though it starts with an A, the word is a little unclear so I'll avoid it. Automate : these are tasks independent of people. Rundoo AI acts on some cadence or trigger. I think these are best illustrated with examples. Three very important parts of running a supply store are: Relationship : Maintaining relationships with the consumers/homeowners and contractors/businesses that shop at your store. Pricing : Pricing goods at the right level to maximize profit by balancing margin and volume. Inventory : Keeping the right quantity on hand to minimize stock outs without tying up too much in inventory. For each of these use cases, you can graduate from analyze (questions) to act (requests) to automation (tasks). What next? Rather than give you a specific use case, I implore you to follow the same mantra we have adopted internally: try AI first . For each part of your business, try using AI. To see what this looks like in practice, read how one store owner's Daily AI Summary uncovered $4,200 in lost margin that had been hiding in his reports for ten weeks, or how AllPro Paint used Rundoo AI to win back customers who had quietly drifted to national chains. As a subsidiary of Ace Hardware, Emery Jensen serves as a wholesale distribution channel for independent retailers who want access to Ace's product assortment and buying power without converting to an Ace-branded store, and Rundoo connects the data between distributor and store automatically. Why this matters Emery Jensen gives independent hardware retailers access to one of the most recognized brands in the industry through a flexible wholesale model that lets them keep their own name on the building. But that flexibility comes with operational complexity, and store owners who are already juggling multiple vendor relationships don't need another disconnected system sitting between them and their distributor. Rundoo fills that gap with a single platform that speaks Emery Jensen natively. The integration handles catalog loads from EJD's ElecCom system, EDI order transmission with accurate pricing, automated receiving, and price change updates. As one of 23 approved ERP systems in the Emery Jensen network, Rundoo is built to work the way EJD's systems expect. Integrations Rundoo connects directly with Emery Jensen's ElecCom systems so store owners can manage catalog, ordering, and pricing from one platform instead of bouncing between portals like a pinball with a purchase order. Live Catalog Emery Jensen's full product catalog loads directly into Rundoo from ElecCom item files, including UPCs, descriptions, dealer costs, retail pricing, and order multiples. Your inventory reflects what EJD actually stocks, updated automatically so you're never selling something that quietly disappeared from the warehouse. Ordering Place purchase orders from Rundoo directly to Emery Jensen over a secure EDI connection with your store's pricing included on the order. No separate portal, no re-keying line items, no crossing your fingers that the price you sent matches the price they received. Receiving When Emery Jensen ships an order, the invoice and shipment details load automatically into Rundoo so you can receive against accurate line items, quantities, and costs. Select the shipment, confirm what showed up, and get back to your customers. Price Changes Emery Jensen cost and retail price updates flow into Rundoo automatically, keeping your margins accurate without anyone manually updating a spreadsheet or discovering a cost change three weeks after it happened. Discounts Emery Jensen retailers who switch to Rundoo get a meaningful break on the cost of getting started, because moving to a new platform should feel like an upgrade and not a tax. Half Off Conversion Emery Jensen retailers receive 50% off Rundoo's one-time implementation fee, which covers data migration, on-site training, and the careful work of moving your store from its old system without losing a beat. Cutting the conversion cost in half makes the decision to modernize a much shorter conversation with your business partner. Three Months Free New Emery Jensen stores that go live with Rundoo get their first three months of monthly software fees on the house, giving the team time to settle into the platform before the recurring bill kicks in. Three months is plenty of runway to finish onboarding, train every employee, and confirm that the numbers in Rundoo match the numbers in real life. Rundoo gives Orgill dealers a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management, all connected to Orgill's systems so the data moves itself and the owner can get back to helping customers instead of wrestling with file transfers. Why this matters Orgill serves thousands of independent retailers across hardware, home improvement, lumber, and building materials, and the company's reputation for dealer support and product breadth is well-earned. But the stores in its network are independently owned businesses run by real people with real operational headaches, and too many of them are still toggling between disconnected systems to place a warehouse order, reconcile a shipment, or figure out why their costs don't match what Orgill sent them last week. Rundoo fills that gap with a single system that speaks Orgill natively. The integration handles catalog loads, EDI order transmission with accurate pricing, shipment receiving, price changes, and warehouse inventory automatically, so store owners spend less time managing data between systems and more time running their store. Integrations Rundoo connects directly with Orgill's systems so store owners can spend less time navigating FTP folders and fixed-width files and more time helping customers find the right product, even when they describe it as 'that metal thingy with the twisty bit.' Live Catalog Orgill's full product catalog loads directly into Rundoo from item master files, including UPCs, descriptions, costs, retail pricing, and warehouse availability. Your inventory always reflects what Orgill actually stocks, not what you remember from the last time someone checked. Ordering Place purchase orders from Rundoo directly to Orgill over a secure EDI connection, with your store's pricing transmitted on the order so price labels come back correct. No logging into a separate portal, no re-keying orders by hand, no wondering if the price you sent matches the price they received. Receiving When Orgill ships an order, the shipment notification loads automatically into Rundoo with line items, quantities, and costs ready to receive. Select the shipment, confirm the quantities, and you're done. Price Changes Orgill price changes flow into Rundoo automatically, keeping your member costs and retail prices accurate without anyone touching a spreadsheet. Review and apply updates from the price changes page whenever you're ready. Warehouse Inventory Inventory files from Orgill's distribution centers give you visibility into what's in stock at your assigned warehouse before you place an order, including discontinuation flags so you're not ordering something that's already on its way out. Item Maintenance When Orgill updates a product, changes a UPC, or discontinues an item, Rundoo picks it up automatically so your catalog stays clean without manual cleanup. FanBuilder Orgill's FanBuilder loyalty program is integrated directly into point-of-sale so your customers can earn and redeem rewards without a separate system or extra steps at checkout. Trade Shows Orgill hosts dealer markets twice a year, bringing together thousands of independent hardware retailers for buying, education, and enough vendor conversations to fill a week. Rundoo is there, on the show floor, demoing the platform and talking shop with store owners who are ready for software that actually talks to their distributor. We also attend Orgill's Tech Symposium and other events throughout the year where Orgill dealers gather to learn about the tools and technology shaping how independent stores operate. If you're heading to an Orgill event, come find us. We'll show you what AI-powered ordering looks like when it's connected directly to Orgill's systems, and we promise the demo is more fun than it sounds. Referral Program Orgill participates in the Rundoo Referral Program . The nursery is one of three companies the Mounteer family operates in Wasatch County, alongside a landscaping company and an excavation business that McKenzie also runs, because apparently one seasonal business wasn't enough of an adventure. The transition wasn't planned as a dramatic pivot. McKenzie's sister, who had been involved in the family businesses, decided to step away and start a family of her own. McKenzie saw the gap and filled it, bringing an energy and directness that comes from someone who has already held every role in the building: waterer, cashier, inventory person, order placer, and now the one whose name is on the line when the numbers don't add up. When people ask her why she took on the nursery when her real passion is excavation, her answer is simple and telling: "My dream is to have all the family companies succeed, not just one specific. If I'm needed in any of them, that's where I'll jump." The Problem Nobody Hands You a Manual For The hardest part of taking over a business, McKenzie discovered, is that nobody gives you a manual. There's no checklist that says "order the perennials by this date" or "have bulk soil ready by this week." Miss a seasonal window and the products don't sell, the revenue doesn't come in, and the person who absorbs that loss is the one sitting at the top of the food chain. For a new owner still learning the rhythms of a nursery's calendar, that pressure is real and constant, and leaning on her mom for timing advice only goes so far when the business needs systems, not just institutional memory. The system McKenzie inherited was Comcash, and it wasn't making any of this easier. The software wasn't intuitive and learning it felt like memorizing a sequence of steps rather than using something that made sense on its own. McKenzie tried to learn it and couldn't get it to click. The bigger problem was the cost, which kept climbing with unexplained fees that seemed to grow like weeds. New charges would appear on the bill without warning, and when McKenzie called to ask why, she'd get transferred from person to person until she was eventually disconnected. For a business owner already stretched thin across three companies, that kind of runaround isn't just frustrating; it's expensive in time you'll never get back. "They would just send me to a different person, send me to a different person, or they just wouldn't even answer. I would end up being hung up on." The Five-Minute Demo McKenzie doesn't give salespeople a lot of her time. She's busy, she's direct about it, and most POS systems she'd seen felt generic and unlikely to make her life easier. So when Alex from Rundoo walked into the nursery one day, the odds were not in his favor. But Alex didn't push. He asked for five minutes, said he didn't want it to feel like pressure, and suggested that if she liked what she saw, they could talk further. McKenzie sat down, watched the demo, and something clicked immediately. The interface was intuitive in the way Comcash never was, the kind of software where you think "how do I do this?" and the answer is already right in front of you. Five minutes turned into a conversation, and the conversation turned into a decision. "It's easy. You don't really need to look up how to do something because it's just there. You're thinking of it and it's right here." The Go-Live Country Gardens went live on Rundoo in late March 2026. Within the first week, McKenzie's team was already running reports and navigating the system without hand-holding. The staff, in McKenzie's words, was "ecstatic," which is not a word people typically use to describe their feelings about point-of-sale software, but then again, most point-of-sale software doesn't deserve it. The pricing alone was a relief. Rundoo's straightforward cost structure replaced the unpredictable bills McKenzie had been dealing with, saving the nursery an estimated $11,000 per year that can go back into inventory and staffing instead of mystery fees. But the savings McKenzie is most excited about are the ones that compound over time. Before Rundoo, inventory was a black box. Products were "just flying out the doors" with no clear picture of what was selling, what was sitting, or where the margins actually lived. McKenzie estimates that better inventory tracking alone could save the business around $20,000 , and given that she's only been live for a week, the picture is just starting to come into focus. The Bigger Picture What makes McKenzie's story worth telling isn't just the cost savings or the five-minute demo that won her over. It's that Rundoo arrived at exactly the moment a new generation of owner needed it most. McKenzie took over a thirteen-year-old family business without a playbook, running it alongside two other companies, trying to learn seasonal timing on the fly, and fighting a POS system that charged a premium for the privilege of being put on hold. She needed a system that could think the way she thinks, that could surface the information she didn't know she was missing, and that could grow with a business that's about to hit its busiest season with a full greenhouse and a new owner who is very clearly not messing around. "I think every garden store should have your guys' system. It is like, your system's fantastic." McKenzie has already started referring other nurseries and greenhouses in Wasatch County to Rundoo, offering her own phone number as a reference. For a family whose dream is to see all their businesses succeed, Country Gardens just got the kind of root system that makes that possible. It makes sense. You're running a business, you don't have time to shut down for two weeks while someone installs software, and you've probably heard a horror story or two from a friend who switched to something and regretted it. So let me walk you through exactly what happens, because we've done this hundreds of times now, and it's not nearly as scary as you're thinking. 🤝 You Get a Person As soon as you sign, you're assigned a dedicated implementation manager who holds your hand through the entire process. Not a chatbot, not a help article, a real person. Almost all of our implementation managers have prior experience working at a supply store: paint, hardware, farm and feed. They've stood behind the counter and they know what it's like when a contractor is tapping their foot while you're trying to figure out a new system. That context matters, and it shows up in the way they run your implementation. 📋 Three Things Happen Once you're paired up with your implementation manager, there are three things to get done before go-live: data, hardware, and training. 1. Data Data is the lifeline of your business, and we treat it that way. As soon as you sign, we ask for access to your current system and start pulling everything over: products, customers, vendors, historical sales, inventory balances, and customer balances. We can't guarantee we can extract data from every system out there, but we're able to do this over 90% of the time. Once your data is in, you get a test environment to start playing around with. Poke at it, break things, click every button you can find. That's exactly what it's for. All of that test data gets deleted and re-pulled the night before go-live, so you're starting fresh with up-to-date numbers on day one. 2. Hardware Good news: most of your existing hardware will work with Rundoo: keyboards, mice, full-page printers, cash boxes. For computers, barcode scanners, and thermal printers, your implementation manager will help you confirm compatibility with Rundoo. Some stores choose to upgrade equipment during the switch, but that's a want, not a need. The one requirement is new card readers. We use Stripe S710 readers , and they need to be ours. Other than that, you're probably good to go with what you already have. 3. Training We find it works best to designate one admin at your store who will be the point person for the whole implementation, and then we train the trainer. Training is tailored to what you're trying to achieve. The full flow runs four sessions: system unveil, daily fundamentals, admin side, and hardware setup. Each session is supported by videos to watch in advance, a sandbox to practice in, and a document you can share with your team, so when you meet with your Implementation Manager, you're having a real conversation about your specific processes rather than covering basics. ⏱️ The Timeline Our typical timeline is one month, with four preparation meetings (one per week) in the lead-up. That said, we've had clients go as fast as one week, and our largest clients with 30+ locations can take up to a year to fully roll out. Most stores land right around that four-week mark. 🏁 Go-Live Day is the Starting Line Here's something that surprises people: go-live day is the starting line, not the finish line. We don't just set you up and drop you off a cliff. Your implementation manager stays with you until you're steady, which is usually about two weeks or until you've completed an end-of-month statement run if you do B2B with charge accounts, whichever comes later. And even after that handoff, you're not done with us. You can call, text, or email our support team any time, and we resolve 96% of cases within 24 hours. Our support team is all US-based and, like our implementation managers, they've got real store experience. If you don't reach out to us, we'll reach out to you. We aim to check in with every client at least once a quarter. So the full handoff looks like this: your account executive gets you in the door, your implementation manager gets you up and running, support is there whenever you need it, and your client success manager checks in regularly to make sure things are going well. 👕 The Shirt Tradition Go-live day is a big day, and we like to commemorate it. We ask you to sign a Rundoo t-shirt, and we take a photo together. Those shirts get hung up in our office as a reminder of every client we serve. They're always in the room while we're building. 🤷 So, How Bad Is It? Honestly? Four meetings beforehand, one stressful but kind of fun go-live day, and a couple weeks of getting your sea legs. That's the whole thing. We've done this hundreds of times, and the answer to "what's the switch like?" is always the same: a lot less painful than you expected. Data, hardware, training, boom. If you're weighing whether the switch is worth it, we broke down the numbers in How Rundoo Delivers ROI , covering the revenue growth, receivables reduction, and margin improvement stores see after going live. And once you're up and running, our practical guide to AI for store owners walks through what's possible from day one. Rundoo gives PPC dealers a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management. Integrations with Pittsburgh Paints' systems are on our roadmap; once complete, the data will move itself and the owner can get back to mixing colors instead of re-entering orders. Why this matters Pittsburgh Paints has been a cornerstone of the independent paint channel for decades, and the company's network of dealer-owned stores wins on personal service, local expertise, and the kind of product knowledge you can't get from a big-box associate reading the back of a can. But that edge is hard to sustain when the owner is toggling between disconnected systems to place a warehouse order, reconcile a shipment, or figure out why the product data in their POS doesn't match what PPC sent them last month. Rundoo fills that gap with a single system planned to speak Pittsburgh Paints natively. Ordering, catalog loads, and pricing sync are all on our roadmap so once integrations are built, orders will get processed faster, with fewer errors, and without anyone having to pick up a phone or copy numbers between screens. Integrations Rundoo connects directly with Pittsburgh Paints so store owners can spend less time juggling portals and phone calls and more time helping customers pick the perfect shade of something that is definitely not just 'white.' Live Ordering Place purchase orders from Rundoo directly to Pittsburgh Paints through a secure digital connection. Rundoo generates the order file and transmits it automatically, so you never have to log into a separate portal, call your rep, or re-key an order by hand. Catalog Load Pittsburgh Paints' full product catalog into Rundoo with UPCs, descriptions, and product details so your inventory reflects what PPC actually stocks, not what you remember from the last time someone checked. Trade Shows Pittsburgh Paints participates in roughly 55 trade shows a year, which is a lot of convention center coffee and a lot of handshakes. Rundoo shows up alongside PPC at industry events including the biannual AllPro shows and the annual Lancaster shows, where paint store owners, reps, and the people who keep this industry running all end up in the same room. If you're heading to one of these shows, come find us. We'll be the ones demoing AI-powered purchase orders and making paint puns that are, at best, semi-gloss. Rundoo gives Wallace Hardware dealers a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management, all integrated with Wallace so the data flows where it needs to go and the owner doesn't have to be the middleman between their systems. Why this matters Wallace Hardware has been a trusted name in Southeast hardware distribution for decades, and the independent retailers they serve are the kinds of stores that know every regular customer by name. Those stores win on relationships, product knowledge, and the kind of service you can't get at a big-box chain. But maintaining that edge gets harder when the owner is spending half their morning re-keying purchase orders into a separate distributor portal or manually reconciling shipments against invoices. Rundoo fills that gap with a single system that connects to Wallace natively. Catalog data, ordering, and receiving all flow between Rundoo and Wallace automatically, so store owners spend less time managing data between disconnected systems and more time on the floor. Integrations Rundoo connects directly with Wallace Hardware's distribution systems so store owners can spend less time chasing down order confirmations and more time helping customers pick out the perfect porch rocker, or at least the right screws to keep the old one from squeaking. Live Catalog Wallace's product catalog loads directly into Rundoo with UPCs, descriptions, and cost information, giving your team a single source of truth for everything Wallace distributes without toggling between systems. Ordering Place purchase orders from Rundoo directly to Wallace over a secure EDI connection. No more logging into a separate portal, re-keying orders by hand, or wondering whether that fax actually went through. Receiving When Wallace ships an order, the invoice and shipment details load automatically into Rundoo so you can receive against what was actually sent, confirm quantities, and move on with your day. Trade Shows Wallace Hardware hosts dealer markets in Sevierville, Tennessee, including their flagship "Frame the Future" fall show, where independent retailers from across the Southeast gather to discover new products, meet vendors, and talk about what's working in their stores. Rundoo is there on the show floor, demoing the platform and swapping stories with store owners who are ready for software that actually connects to their distributor. Swing by the Rundoo booth at the next Wallace show and let us walk you through what AI-powered ordering looks like when it's connected directly to Wallace's systems. We'll even throw in some hardware puns at no extra charge. Referral Program Wallace Hardware participates in the Rundoo Referral Program . When Wallace Hardware's reps refer an independent supply store that goes live with Rundoo, the rep receives a $500 thank-you, and the store gets 25% off their one-time implementation fee. Tammy and Jason Kinsinger took the keys seven years ago, inheriting a crew where many team members have spent decades behind the counter, in the yard, and on the delivery routes, which means they tend to know their customers' projects, preferences, and pet peeves better than most people know their own families. The Eagle Has Flown When the Kinsingers acquired Vetter, the store was running on Epicor Eagle, and the relationship with that system steadily soured over the years. The inventory interface had a distinctly dial-up vibe, the on-premise server was a recurring expense that never quite earned its keep, and every time the team wanted to switch on a feature that probably should have come standard, the price tag arrived at the door with its hat in its hand. "They like to charge you for every little thing. They were going to charge us two grand just to turn an option on." For a family operation already balancing two yards, dozens of contractor accounts, and the kind of thin lumber margins that don't leave room for software surcharges, the math eventually stopped mathing. A Lumberyard's Wishlist Is a Long One Setting up a lumberyard on a new POS is not exactly a "click here, you're live" kind of project. Vetter sells items by the foot, by the roll, and by the bundle, and the pricing has to handle contractor tiers, quantity breaks, and the occasional handshake deal that has been honored across two decades of customer history. Inventory has to flow between Bluffton and Fort Jennings without losing the thread, customer accounts have to settle cleanly across both stores, electronic purchase orders have to land at Orgill without a hiccup, and at the end of the day every transaction has to land in QuickBooks Online without anyone reaching for a spreadsheet to clean up after it. The Rundoo team worked through every one of those requirements alongside Tammy and Jason, and the Kinsingers showed up to every implementation call themselves, which meant that by the time go-live arrived, they understood the system as well as anyone on our side did. Going Live, Together Vetter went live on Rundoo on April 28th, 2026. Tammy planted herself at the Bluffton store for go-live, and she made the call early in the process that she wanted dedicated support on the ground at Fort Jennings to "hold hands" with the team members there who were a little less comfortable with new software. That turned out to be exactly the right call. The Bluffton crew had Tammy walking the floor with them, the Fort Jennings crew had a teammate in the building when questions came up, and the customers walking through the door barely noticed that anything had changed besides the speed at which their accounts were being looked up. The standout moment came on day one at Fort Jennings, when Scott, a long-tenured team member, used Rundoo AI to put together a report that had previously taken hours to assemble by hand. The answer landed in his inbox in seconds, and the room got quiet in the way that rooms get quiet when a piece of software does something unexpected and useful. "Things are so much easier." What Stayed the Same For all the change underneath the hood, the part that mattered most about Vetter Lumber stayed exactly where it has always been. Customers who have been buying from the yard for years still walk in and get greeted by name, the team still asks about the project on the bench before they ring anything up, and the relationships that took decades to build are still doing the heavy lifting. The software just stopped getting in the way of the people doing the work. Recommended reading Our Mission, Word for Word That's our mission. Rundoo gives House-Hasson dealers a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management, all connected to House-Hasson's systems so the data moves itself and the owner can stop double-entering everything into two different screens that should have been talking to each other all along. Why this matters House-Hasson has been serving independent hardware retailers since 1906, when Sam House and C.S. Hasson decided that independently owned stores deserved a wholesale partner who actually understood their business. Four generations of the Hasson family later, that mission hasn't changed, and neither has the reality that most of those stores are still running on software that predates the smartphone in their pocket. House-Hasson's network wins on service, deep product knowledge, and the kind of customer relationships that make people drive past a big-box store to shop local, but that edge gets harder to maintain when the owner is spending their evening reconciling purchase orders instead of planning tomorrow's sales floor. Rundoo fills that gap with a single system that speaks House-Hasson natively. The integration handles catalog loads, EDI order transmission, and shipment receiving automatically, with price changes and discontinued product tracking on the way. Integrations Rundoo connects directly with House-Hasson's systems so store owners can spend less time wrangling EDI files and more time helping customers find exactly the right hinge, fastener, or inexplicably specific plumbing fitting they swore the store carried last time they were in. Live Catalog House-Hasson's full product catalog loads directly into Rundoo, including UPCs, descriptions, costs, and retail pricing. Your inventory always reflects what House-Hasson actually stocks across their four distribution centers, not what someone hand-entered six months ago. Ordering Place purchase orders from Rundoo directly to House-Hasson over a secure EDI connection. Rundoo generates the purchase order file and transmits it automatically, so you never have to log into a separate portal, re-key an order, or wonder whether it actually went through. Receiving When House-Hasson ships an order, the shipment notification loads automatically into Rundoo with line items, quantities, and costs ready to receive. Select the shipment, confirm what came off the truck, and you're done. Price Changes House-Hasson cost and retail price updates flow into Rundoo automatically, keeping your margins accurate without anyone manually updating a spreadsheet that somehow always has a formula error in row 347. Trade Shows House-Hasson hosts their dealer market annually, bringing together independent hardware retailers from across 26 states (and the Caribbean, because even island hardware stores need a solid wholesale partner) for buying, networking, and the kind of conversations that only happen when you put a few hundred hardware people in the same room. Rundoo is there, on the show floor and at the after-party, talking shop with store owners who are ready for software that actually talks to their distributor. At the 2026 House-Hasson Show in Nashville, Rundoo presented to House-Hasson's full sales team, demoed the platform, and hosted a happy hour at Ole Red because nothing seals a good partnership like live music and a round on the house. If you're heading to a House-Hasson event, come find us. We'll show you what ordering looks like when it's connected directly to House-Hasson's systems, and we'll probably have stickers. The store must be a new prospect, not already in our active pipeline or an existing Rundoo customer. What if my store has already been in contact with Rundoo? We handle these on a case-by-case basis, and we'll always try to lean in your favor. General rule of thumb: if a store is currently in a sales cycle with us, or was in the last three months, they likely won't qualify. But if the contact was further back and you think they're due for another look, submit it anyway. Past conversations don't automatically disqualify a referral. When do I get paid? Gift cards are issued within 5 business days of a qualifying event. We'll reach out directly when it hits. Can I refer more than one store? Absolutely, and you should. Entries stack with no cap. The math gets fun fast. What if two reps refer the same store? The first valid referral submitted gets the credit. Duplicate submissions for the same store will be disqualified, so don't sit on a warm lead. How is the winner drawn? On July 3, 2026, we'll run a randomized draw weighted by raffle entries. That's our mission. We have refined each word over the last few years, and in this post, I want to outline the reasoning behind each word. My hope is that you leave knowing what we're about so you can make the best decision for your business. Empower To empower is to leave someone feeling like they can do more . When an owner uses Rundoo AI to get insight into their business they previously couldn't, that's empowerment. When a contractor pays their bill at 11pm through the app because it was easy and convenient, that's empowerment. The goal is always the same: you should feel more capable because of us. We also recognize that software shapes action, and we view it as our responsibility to understand best practices and to set up defaults that nudge toward those best practices. Importantly, though we view it as our responsilibility to nudge to best practices, we want to offer flexibility to customize away from our defaults if it's a better fit for your business. As an example, we think building hundreds of pricing tiers and custom prices is generally a bad practice because it becomes unwieldy to manage; however, we have some clients that have built phenomenal systems to win deals by doing exactly that. Anyway, you get the point: Rundoo should make you feel like you can do more. Independent Independent means able to decide how your business operates . You decide what to stock, how to price, whom to hire, and what technology to use. Notably, we have no desire to sell software to Home Depot, Sherwin-Williams, Tractor Supply, or any other big box because they have a fundamentally different business model that requires different technology. They compete primarily on economies of scale and decisions are made in a central corporate office, rather than at each node. Their north star is standard processes rather than decentralized flexibilty. The independent model is substantively different, so it requires a different tech stack. Though both models work, independents compete by being nimble : independents adapt quickly to their local community in ways that a centralized chain simply can't. durable : independents build teams that have years of relevant knowledge and care deeply about the industry, versus the temporary and often inexperienced labor that big boxes hire. (Which again, makes sense for their model! They prioritize cheaper labor that will operate with less autonomy.) relationship-driven : independents invest in sales team and customer relationships. Staff know the names of people when they walk in, which builds loyalty. This is very hard to do at the scale the big boxes operate. What does independent look like? Variety. Above is a photo of our Redwood City office. When a client goes live, we put a signed t-shirt of theirs up on the wall. In this photo, there's an extreme variety of colors, and if you look closely, the logos, designs, and even the fabrics vary. This is independence in a photo: each client runs their own business, their own brand. This is who we serve. Supply Store A supply store is a retail business that serves both individual customers and organizations . Unlike a grocer or a souvenir store, you serve contractors, governments, farmers, and other businesses with the goods they need to do their work. These large buyers may need charge accounts, custom pricing, and other special attention. Best We want to be the best . Full stop. Our mission does not act in isolation; rather, it is in comparison with the other partners you could choose. To be blunt, we want to empower you better than anyone else can. We are under no illusions: competition drives progress. We encourage competition. In the same way that you need to serve your customers better than your competition, we need to serve you better than any other technology provider out there. That's the standard we hold ourselves to, and it's why we obsess over the product, the support, the onboarding, and every other part of the experience. If we aren't the best option for you, we haven't done our job. Technology Technology is intentionally broad: everything digital you do . Many prospects and clients call us a POS because it is how many of our competitors have historically branded themselves. As such, we are happy to call ourselves a POS to rapidly place Rundoo in your mental map. However, we think of ourselves as much, much broader: we want to be your full technology partner . We already offer ERP functionality for financial planning, CRM functionality that lets you track interactions, and general ledger capabilities for accounting. In the strict sense, this is much more than the software that lives only at the "point of sale"! We're launching e-commerce this year, and we plan to eventually offer payroll, time tracking, marketing tools, and anything else digital that can empower you. Why the broad approach? Because we have a deeply held belief that technology works best when everything is in concert . When your point of sale, accounting, customer management, and ordering all natively communicate, you gain insights and efficiency that you simply can't get from stitching different systems together. Our goal is to be your full technology partner. Because of how rapidly technology changes, we imagine this job will never be done: we'll get there iteratively by staying abreast of advancements in technology and spending a lot of time with you :) Thank you To every store owner who has put their trust in us: thank you. We wake up every day thinking about how to make your businesses better, and we don't take that responsibility lightly. We aren't going anywhere . Alright, back to work. Let's go empower independent supply stores with the best technology. Find out what Rundoo can do for your business Learn how Rundoo can help you save time, money and hassle running your business. Rundoo gives Horizon dealers a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management. Integrations with Horizon are on our roadmap; once complete, the data will flow where it needs to go and the store owner can stop being the unpaid middleware between their systems. Why this matters Horizon Distribution has been a cornerstone of independent retail in the Pacific Northwest for decades, supplying the kind of stores where the staff actually knows the difference between a Phillips and a Pozidriv (and will politely explain why it matters). Those stores compete on expertise, relationships, and personalized service, but keeping that edge gets harder when the owner is spending their morning re-entering purchase orders into a distributor portal or reconciling shipments by hand. Rundoo fills that gap with a single system planned to connect to Horizon natively. Catalog data, ordering, receiving, price updates, and item maintenance are all on our roadmap, so once integrations are built, store owners will spend less time shuffling data between disconnected tools and more time on the floor. Trade Shows Horizon Distribution hosts their flagship EXPO trade show, bringing together independent retailers from across the Pacific Northwest for product showcases, vendor meetings, and the kind of hallway conversations that turn into the best ideas for next season's merchandising plan. Rundoo is right there on the show floor, demoing the platform and talking shop with store owners who want their software to work as hard as they do. At the September 2025 EXPO, Rundoo presented to Horizon's full retail sales team ahead of the show, walking them through how the platform connects directly to Horizon's systems and how independent retailers can use it to run smarter, leaner operations. The next Horizon EXPO is September 15 through 17, 2026, so if you are heading out, come find the Rundoo booth. We will show you what AI-powered ordering looks like when it is plugged straight into your distributor, and we will probably have stickers (and at least one solid lumber pun). Referral Program Horizon Distribution participates in the Rundoo Referral Program . When Horizon Distribution's reps refer an independent supply store that goes live with Rundoo, the rep receives a $500 thank-you, and the store gets 25% off their one-time implementation fee. Rundoo gives PACOA dealers a single platform for POS, inventory, ordering, and vendor management. Integrations with PACOA's systems are on our roadmap; once complete, the data will move where it needs to go and the store owner can stop playing air traffic controller between their register and their distributor portal. Why this matters PACOA has been a family-owned operation for over 40 years, built on a simple idea: independent retail dealers in the Northeast deserve a wholesale partner who actually knows their business and picks up the phone when they call. Operating out of Port Washington, New York, PACOA distributes paint, hardware, lumber, janitorial supplies, and building materials to the kinds of stores where the owner greets you by name and somehow always knows which primer works best on old plaster walls. But maintaining that edge gets harder when the owner is spending their evening reconciling purchase orders instead of planning tomorrow's endcap, or when the one employee who knows how the old system works is on vacation and nobody else can pull up a receiving report. PACOA's dealers carry products across a wider range of categories than most hardware distributors, and managing all of that through disconnected systems is the kind of operational tax that eats into time that should be going toward customers. Rundoo fills that gap with a single system planned to speak PACOA natively once integrations are built. Catalog data, ordering, receiving, price changes, and item maintenance are all on our roadmap. Trade Shows PACOA hosts their Spring and Fall Dealer Markets at Queens College in Flushing, New York, bringing together independent paint, hardware, and building supply retailers from across the Northeast for buying, networking, and the kind of hallway conversations that only happen when you put a few hundred store owners and their favorite sales reps in the same gym. Rundoo is there on the show floor, demoing the platform, swapping stories with store owners, and occasionally learning more about paint color psychology than we ever expected to. At the PACOA Spring 2026 Dealer Market, Rundoo presented to PACOA's full sales team, ran demos for store owners across two days, and created over a dozen new opportunities from the show. PACOA's reps have become some of Rundoo's most enthusiastic advocates, actively connecting stores in their territories with the platform. If you're heading to a PACOA show, come find us at the booth, and we'll show you what ordering looks like when it's connected directly to PACOA's systems. We'll probably have stickers, and we'll definitely have opinions about paint. Referral Program PACOA participates in the Rundoo Referral Program .
