At the end of the term, students will receive email reminders to return rented physical course materials to the bookstore. Who is eligible to participate? If your preferred format is not the one that is provided, you can rent or purchase the format you would like from the bookstore. How do I enroll in the program? All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the SMU Books+ program. Can I opt-out of the program? No. Students cannot opt-out of the program. When are my textbook rentals due back to the bookstore? The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of final exams for the semester. Students will receive reminders ahead of the rental deadline to their SMU email address. Can I buy my rented textbook? Yes, the program provides you with the option to purchase any rental textbooks at a reduced rate during the semester. Do I need to return books if they are for a continuation course? Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks. You will be issued the same title for the next semester of the continuation course. What happens if I never verify my order? Students will receive email notifications from the Campus Store reminding them to verify their order and choose their fulfillment preference. What if I drop a class? If course materials have been picked up or delivered for the dropped class, those materials should be returned to the bookstore within 48 hours. If you drop a class and enroll in a different class, the Campus Store will exchange the required course materials so that you have what you need. We prepare students, in part, through technology-enhanced, transformative learning. Our goal is to graduate digitally knowledgeable citizens who are career-ready healthcare professionals.  Rooted in the University’s Student Framework for Success —Habits of Mind, Hands, Heart; Transformative Learning; and Success Measures—SMU prepares graduates to be agents of change in an ever-changing healthcare environment. Formerly Connect to Success, iLearn is a learning movement catalyzed and powered by the Center for Innovation and Excellence in Learning (CIEL).  Launched in May 2021 as a pilot program, iLearn provides students and faculty in selected SMU academic programs with an iPad technology package as well as robust resources to support active and effective use of the iPads. Our ultimate goal is to provide an iPad for every university student. Digital apps on a mobile tablet connect students to the people, resources, and systems that will facilitate learning from many, at any time, from anywhere. A major impetus for iLearn is to promote digital equity among students by placing a powerful digital device and technology platform in the hands of each student. Recognizing that students enter the University with variable digital literacy levels, we provide training and individualized support throughout each person’s educational journey. We also provide instructional guidance for faculty and collaborative communities to enhance learning and the adoption of pedagogical best practices.   Related Links RELATED LINKS About iLearn iLearn Institute Related Links Supporting Student Success Pilot Program What Students Say FAQs about the iPad Supporting Student Success A major impetus for establishing iLearn was the goal of ensuring digital equity among students.
