At Seropian Law, we have recovered over $50 million on behalf of our clients and their families.   Below are some of our latest verdicts and settlements, along with a short description of the case: $8,500,000 Personal Injury - Confidential We are pleased to have resolved this personal injury matter under confidentiality. Although we cannot share any specifics, we are proud of the result for all involved parties. $6,000,000 Wrongful Death - Truck Accident Settlement on a wrongful death case involving a truck accident, wherein our clients received moneys to compensate them for the loss of love, companionship, society, comfort, protection, care and guidance of their loved one. The moneys received by our clients have allowed them to rebuild after their terrible loss. $4,500,000 Automobile v. Pedestrian - Catastrophic Injury Settlement for an elderly man who suffered catastrophic injuries when a vehicle collided into him in a crosswalk. Liability was initially disputed, and the policy was opened. $4,200,000 Van v. Automobile - Orthopedic Injuries Settlement for a young man involved in a violent collision that resulted in several orthopedic injuries and a concussion. Past medical expenses were around $350,000, making much of this excellent result the value added for our client's pain and suffering damages. $2,500,000 Personal Injury - Confidential We are pleased to have resolved this personal injury matter under confidentiality. Although we cannot share any specifics, we are proud of the result for all involved parties. $2,000,000 Premises Liability - Broken Arm Settlement for an elderly woman who sustained a compound fracture as she was leaving a department store. The case was grounded in a California Disabled Persons Act violation, allowing for threat of treble damages (and attorneys fees) should the matter have proceeded to trial and prevailed. Our office represented the cross-defendant, whose interests were aligned with the plaintiff. The result is an outlier broken arm settlement. $2,000,000 Auto v. Auto - Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Settlement on an open $15,000 policy for a woman who struck her head on the driver’s side window when T-boned. She suffered a concussion with no brain bleed. Virtually all medical care was through health insurance. With only a $15,000 policy limit, this open policy settlement represents over 133 times the policy limit, a huge multiplier. $1,500,000 Slip and Fall - Alleged CRPS of Left Foot Settlement on an alleged CRPS case for a woman who slipped and fell at a business and began experiencing CRPS-like symptoms in her left foot. $1,017,500 Premises Liability - Driveway Gate Trial verdict for an elderly man who broke his arm while trying to turn off a defective gate. The defense blamed our client and offered $175,000. $1,000,000 Premises Liability - Cervical Fusion Settlement for an elderly woman who tripped and fell coming out of a storage unit at her apartment complex. Liability was contested, and our client had serious pre-existing injuries and symptoms in her neck. $1,000,000 Automobile v. Automobile - Back Surgery without Early Complaints Settlement for a man involved in a rear end auto accident, resulting in a L4-5 disc replacement. Injuries were focused on the low back, despite our client making no initial complaints of low back pain at the emergency room (the closest complaint was some abdominal pain). This case settled in litigation. $1,000,000 Automobile vs. Automobile - Orthopedic Injuries Global settlement for multiple claimants in a contested liability automobile collision, where our office helped our client acquire a fantastic settlement for his various orthopedic injuries. This case was a group effort by three aggressive firms! $875,000 Truck vs. Automobile - Cervical Spine Injury Settlement for a woman who was involved in a rear end accident. She underwent two epidural injections and multiple rounds of surgical consultations for a two-level cervical disc replacement (with possible fusion), but she never scheduled a surgery. The defense argued that plaintiff would never get the surgery, as 6 years had passed. Total medical expenses were around $60,000. $700,000 Automobile Collision - Cervical Spine Herniation Settlement for a young woman who sustained an injury to her neck in a head-on collision, resulting in an acute, albeit slight, cervical spine disc herniation. The injury correlated to the radicular symptoms down her arm. Though surgery was recommended, she only participated in a brief portion of her pain management (2 injections), with medical billings hovering around $65,000. $550,000 Automobile vs. Automobile - C-Spine Injury Settlement for a woman who had two epidural injections for a single-level cervical disc herniation. Although surgery was recommended, our client stated she was not interested in any additional treatments, including surgery. Her total billings were under $30,000. $500,000 Spine Injury - 2 Mile Per Hour Delta-V Settlement for a woman who was involved in a 2 mph Delta-v (change in velocity) collision, but who alleged extensive spinal injuries as a result. She had 3 pre-incident and 2-post incident accidents other than this subject incident, all of which occurred within a three year period. $500,000 Products Liability - Foot Injury Settlement for a young girl who injured herself on an RV step. The settlement allowed for payment of our client's injuries to her foot, and also allowed for a buy back of the vehicle pursuant to lemon law allegations. $500,000 Automobile Collision - Lumbar Microdiscectomy Trial verdict for a man injured when his work truck collided into a left turning passenger vehicle. Our client underwent a lumbar microdiscectomy. The defense offered just $85,000. $450,000 Trip and Fall - Apartment Complex Settlement for an elderly woman who broke her hip when she tripped and fell on a hose at her residential apartment complex. Initial offer was just $50,000, and naturally, the defense blamed our client. $408,300 Slip and Fall - Hotel Trial verdict for a woman who slipped and fell at a major hotel chain. She broke her arm and had a surgery on her shoulder. The defense offered just $100,000. $400,000 Automobile vs. Pedestrian Settlement for a man who suffered a non-dominant shoulder dislocation and greater tuberosity non-displaced fracture. His Howell billings (totaling $5,398.03) were paid by Medicare. This settlement represented entirely general damages. $400,000 Trip and Fall - Skateboard Settlement for a young man who fell off his skateboard while riding on a City sidewalk. He broke his ankle and had an ORIF. The City and adjacent private property owner/operator settled the case 2 weeks before trial. $395,000 Trip and Fall - Grocery Store Settlement for a woman who tripped on an item left out on the floor of a grocery store aisle. She sustained a fracture to her shoulder, and needed a surgical repair. Liability was heavily disputed. $387,500 Dangerous Roadway Condition - Loose Material Settlement for a motorcyclist whose bike skid out from under him when he rode over a highway entrance covered in “ravel,” the natural byproduct of a specific type of roadway preservation work done the prior day. He suffered a torn shoulder labrum, which was arthroscopically repaired. $300,000 Automobile vs. Motorcycle - Questionable Toe Fracture Settlement for a motorcyclist who fractured his toe, resulting in a surgery to fuse the outer most joint. Litigation was focused in part on the absence of physical evidence for the toe fracture (x-ray would not show the fracture, and CT was questionable). Total medical expenses were just under $30,000. The case settled after years of litigation. $300,000 Automobile Collision - Physical Therapy Treatment Settlement for a woman who sat passenger in a vehicle impacted by a semi-truck. She sustained pain in her ankle, n --> Injury Attorney | California | Seropian Law, A PC | Contact Us top of page HOME ABOUT US PRACTICES RESULTS CONTACT More Use tab to navigate through the menu items. We have handled a wide range of civil matters, specializing in high-value personal injury, wrongful death, employment, and general litigation cases. Personal Injury Our office handles almost every type of personal injury matter, and offers free consultations to discuss the specifics of any case.  Unfortunately, many of our clients have been the victim devastating motor vehicle collisions, falls, dog bites, and other incidents, and have come out of them with catastrophic injuries, including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, burns, amputations, bone fractures, and more. Not all personal injury cases start the same, but they all involve people who have been hurt due to the negligent or intentional conduct of others.  As the victim of someone else’s wrongful conduct, are entitled to compensation of your medical bills, property damage expenses, lost wages, impaired earning capacity, and pain and suffering damages.  And in instances of intentional misconduct, you may be entitled to punitive damages as well. If you or a loved one has been the victim of a personal injury matter, we are here to help and welcome your call. Wrongful Death The untimely death of a loved one is always tragic, but particularly so when it is wrongfully caused.  Wrongful death cases are brought by the families of deceased individuals whose deaths were caused by another, whether negligently or intentionally.  In these cases, the law mandates that the surviving family members be entitled to compensation for the loss of the decedent’s love, companionship, comfort, care, assistance, protection, affection, society, and moral support.   More so than in any other practice area, it has been our office’s experience that during the aftermath of a wrongful death, families need help as they navigate the difficult and harsh realities of their lives after these tragic incidents. If someone close to you has recently been the victim of a wrongful death, we are here to consult with you and your family. Employment Litigation Whether you have been discriminated against, unfairly laid off, terminated, harassed, underpaid, or otherwise wrongfully treated in your workplace, it is important to consult with an attorney regarding your legal rights.  Employment law is much different than other practice areas, in that the the causes of action and substantive legal right vary substantially from case to case. Both federal and state law provide remedies for the various causes of action in employment litigation.  A competent employment attorney will help you enforce those rights and see that you are fairly compensated when you have been wronged. If you think you have been the victim of unlawful workplace conduct, we are here to help.  Call us today and tell us your story. Insurance Coverage When you purchase insurance, you agree to pay premiums in exchange for coverage.  And when the unthinkable happens, you expect your insurance company to reimburse you for that exposure. Unfortunately, and more so than ever, insurance policies are written with complicated and subtle provisions that result in denials of coverage, and lead to devastating financial losses for policyholders.  You should not let your insurance company deny coverage in bad faith or because of an unfair business practices.   If you have received a denial from your insurance company for a legitimate claim, or if your insurance company has refused to offer you a defense, our office can help you pursue action against your insurance company to challenge the denied coverage and make you whole. General Litigation Sometimes, your case will call for a wider range of specialties for which you will need an attorney with broad litigation experience.  Our firm has handled various civil cases beyond the above practices, and offer services in numerous other areas including contract, landlord-tenant, real-estate, and other litigation. However general, litigation can be expensive.  That is why our firm is dedicated to offering contingency fee options not only for consumers, but also for businesses that have been wronged or cheated.  This means that our clients do not pay us legal fees based on the hours we work, but instead, on a percentage of any financial recovery.  We do this so the legal system is never out of reach, not for consumers and not for businesses. If you believe you need an attorney with a broad range of general litigation experience, we welcome your call to discuss the specifics of your matter. Mediation Mediation is a fast and effective means to informally resolve cases.  When adverse parties come together to discuss their matter with an independent third-party facilitator, more often than not, people tend to come to an agreement without the need to go to court. Our firm offers select neutral services to parties in conflict, whether or not the parties have already filed a case.  We are frequently called upon by members of the community to mediate cases. 150 years ago, Abraham Lincoln spoke the following words from his lectern: "Discourage litigation.  Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can.  Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser — in fees, expenses, and waste of time.  As a peacemaker the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man.  There will still be business enough." In a world full of litigation, our firm aims to help those who wish to resolve their differences outside of court.  If you are interested in obtaining our services as a neutral mediator, please do not hesitate to contact us.
