Hydrated body means healthy skin and a lesser chance of getting ingrown hairs. It is always best before you get wax to wash your skin with a washcloth soap and warm water, then dry thoroughly but be gentle or you could end up with irritated skin. If you just came from the gym and you are perspiring, it’s a good idea to lightly dust your skin with powder. If your skin is moist most wax simply won’t adhere properly for a clean waxing service. Waxing removes hair from the root, so it can last for up to six weeks or more depending on how frequently you wax. Of course, genetics, age, and other factors will depend on how long it personally lasts for you.     With any waxing service, make sure to tell your esthetician if you're taking an oral acne medication, using topical treatments (Like Retin-A), or scrub your skin with strong exfoliating products that contain salicylic acid, white willow bark, or glycolic acid.    The best time to wax is when your hairs are no longer than ½” and no shorter than 3 mm. If it’s too long we can trim it for you but if it’s to short we will have to let it grow some more. If you have cuts or sunburn we recommend you hold off on waxing until your skin has healed.  Many women also find they’re more sensitive to pain right before their period, so you may have a better experience if you wait till after. Massage is the practice of rubbing and kneading the body using the hands. During a massage, a certified  massage therapist (C.M.T.) will apply gentle or strong pressure to the muscles and joints of the body to ease pain and tension. A C.M.T. is a person trained in giving massages.  In a full-body massage , a C.M.T. will massage the entire body depending on the session you request. A full sessions typically require a minimum of 60 minutes which allows enough time to work over all the major areas of the body like the back, shoulders, legs, feet, arms, hands, and neck.   The different types of massage and which type might be right for you.   Swedish massage is a gentle relaxation type of massage that’s ideal for people who are new to massage or sensitive to touch.  Deep Tissue massage,  uses slow strokes and deep finger pressure to relieve tension from the deepest layers of your muscles and connective tissues.   Sports Massage  is consist of deep pressure may be alternated with soothing strokes  stretching and pulling depending on your needs, may help improve flexibility and sports performance, and reduce your risk for injury.   Prenatal massage uses mild pressure similar to Swedish massage. The therapist will focus on areas such as your lower back, hips, and legs.  For body massages, you’ll remove your clothes, though you may choose to keep your underwear on to your comfort level. You’ll be covered with a sheet while lying on the massage table. The C.M.T. will move the sheet to uncover areas that they are actively working on. By understanding what you’re looking to accomplish, It is best to inform your C.M.T. any specific area you like to have work on so your therapist can then pull from various massage types and incorporate elements of them to address your specific needs.  Please remember that you are in a professional spa, and do not expect anything other than therapeutic massage and foot reflexology.  Reflexology Body Massage Body Massage Reflexology rests on the ancient Chinese belief in qi (pronounced “chee”), or “vital energy.” According to this belief, qi flows through each person. When a person feels stressed, their body blocks qi. This can cause an imbalance in the body that leads to anxiety, stress and even illness. Reflexology aims to keep qi flowing through the body, keeping you balanced and stress free. In Chinese medicine, different body parts correspond with different pressure points on the body. Our certified massage therapist (C.M.T.) use maps of these pressure points in the feet to determine where they should apply pressure to reflex areas. The certified massage therapist (C.M.T.) is said to remove energy blockages and promote health in the related body area. We understand that sometimes schedules adjustments are necessary therefore, we respectfully request at least 24 hours notice for cancellations and 48 hours for party of three or more. Late minute cancellations will be subject to a fee of 100% of your scheduled services. Missed Appointments or “No-Shows” will be charged 100% of the original service booked. Late arrival may limit our ability to offer the full services you requested. Please be aware that late arrivals will not be afforded extension of scheduled treatments. Treatments will be rendered only for the remainder of the scheduled appointment time and you will be responsible for the full service appointment fees. However, we understand that emergency situations do arise and we will accommodate you in best way we can. Young Guests Our spa welcomes young guests (children) ages 3 and up with a parent / guardian present for nail care services. For other services such as Massage, Facials and Waxing the young guest is recommended to be 16 years of age. The young guest must be accompanied and approved by a parent / guardian present. Parents / Guardian are responsible for any damages done by the young guest. Yes we do require a parent or guardian present to accompany the young guest for services.  Gratuity Gratuities are not included in the price of services or packages. Gratuities are graciously accepted by spa personnel. If you wish to show appreciation for a job well done or service enjoyed, gratuity should be given to the technicians directly if available or at the reception desk when you check out. Simply let the receptionist knows who you like to leave the gratuity to. Our recommended standard gratuity for spa treatments is 18% to 25% of the service fee. Gift-Cards and Promotions Gift Certificates may be purchased for a specific dollar amount, or for a specific service.  Please inform us when making an appointment that you will be redeeming a gift card / promos. Please provide the gift card / promos number when making your appointments. Guests must present your gift card / promos to redeem your services. Many businesses have raised their prices reluctantly, however, we believe we have found a unique way to keep our prices low and even offer a discount in most cases. Starting January 1st, 2020, there will be a $3.00 service charge on each service excluding retail items, gift cards, non-expiring spa packages and memberships. However, we will waive the service charge and give a $1 discount if you pay for your services in cash-for a total of $4.00 cash discount.
