In Flight Travel Comfort During your flight the goal is to be as comfortable as possible. Dress comfortably and be sure to layer as plane cabin temperatures do fluctuate. Try to move your body. Stretching is great to keep the blood flowing and the muscles limber. When You Arrive Upon your arrival, take care of yourself. Drink plenty of fluids, unwind, relax and eat simple foods for the first few days. After arrival get outside in the sunlight so your body can reset its natural time clock to coincide with your destination. Unless you are used to taking short naps you are better off staying awake until the natural bedtime, but If you are extremely exhausted try a 20 minute nap to help refresh. Adapters enable your appliances to be plugged in to any type of electrical outlet around the world by changing the pin configuration of your voltage power plug. Remember - Travel Adapter Plugs do not change the voltage or the current that comes out of the outlet. If you have a question about changing electrical voltage, please go to the About Dual Voltage Section Below . Adapter & Converter Kits Adapters and Converters packaged together make an easy solution for the traveler who is visiting multiple countries with different electrical outlets.Generally, only non-grounded adapters are included in the adapter/converter kits so be sure to buy grounded adapters as well if you are planning to use grounded (3 prong) appliances.  Note that we do offer a Grounded Adapter Plug Kit for Europe – but this does not come with any converters – just the plugs.  Always double-check the wattage of your appliances to ensure that you choose the right converter or transformer. Voltage Converters Converters change the voltage of the electricity coming out of the wall outlet to be compatible with your appliances. Going In Style has both converters for both Americans traveling to Europe and Europeans traveling to America.  It is important to remember that converters are only designed for short-term use (20 – 25 minutes) - prolonged use will cause the converter to automatically shut down after time – but without damage to either your converter or your appliance. Voltage Transformers Transformers (sometimes deceptively called converters) perform the same function as a converter; namely, to modify the electrical wall voltage to be compatible with your appliances. The key difference here is that transformers are designed to operate continuously, whereas converters are meant only for short-term use. The trade-off is that voltage transformers are heavier in weight than voltage converters. Phone & Modem Accessories Need accessories for connecting your computer up to the internet? Grounded and Nongrounded Adapters Grounded Adapters If you are traveling with a grounded United States dual/multi-voltage appliance or using a grounded Transformer you will need to use a grounded adaptor plug. A grounded United States plug has two flat blades and one round pin. Nongrounded Adapters Going In Style offers non-grounded adapter plugs for use with your voltage converter, transformer, or dual/multi voltage appliance. A non-grounded United States plug has two flat blades. About Dual Voltage When traveling with appliances it is important to know whether your appliance is dual voltage.  If it is not dual voltage you will need either a converter or a transformer when traveling. This above video will show you how to check to make sure your appliance is dual voltage.   Typically cell phones, cameras, tablets and laptops are dual voltage and do not need a converter. Usually hair dryers, curling irons, battery chargers, hair straighteners, electronic razors and electronic toothbrushes not dual voltage.  These appliances will need either a converter or a transformer.  It is important to check the label for each of your appliances that you will be traveling with. The United States runs on about 120 volts electricity while many other countries run on 220 volts electricity or higher.  Without a converter or transformer you can burn out your appliance. All your Appliances are Dual Voltage ? If all your appliances are dual voltage and are labeled 100-240V (look for the 240V), then you do not need a Converter nor do you need a Transformer.  Please go to the “See Adapter List by Country Chart” from the link below, review the list of countries you are traveling to and choose your adapter plugs.  Adapter plugs are all you will need. The United States runs on about 120 volts electricity while many other countries run on 220 volts electricity or higher.  Without a converter or transformer you can burn out your appliance. Life can be difficult, but careing for your Briggs & Riley luggage doesn't need to be difficult. Here are some guidelines for careing for your Briggs & Riley bags. How to Care For Your Hardsided Luggage Briggs & Riley hardside luggage is made from 100% virgin polycarbonate. Due to the nature of all polycarbonate cases, the bags will naturally receive surface scratches and scuffs during use. These marks are cosmetic and do not impede the functional aspects of the bag. Use these tips to keep your hardside luggage in good condition. Storage and Use: When your hardside luggage is not in use Briggs & Riley suggest you store it in the soft fabric bag provided. Be sure to pack your bag properly. Most repairs on polycarbonate cases are due to bags being over-packed or way under-packed. Don’t sit on your hardside luggage while waiting in line. Hardside cases are not designed to be a seat. Cleaning and Care: The polycarbonate exterior can be cleaned with a solution of mild soap and warm water, applied with a soft cloth or wash cloth. For Mild Surface Marks: Some mild surface marks can be buffed out by using a car wax or car polish. For Scuff Marks: Briggs & Riley recommend using any spot remover or rubbing alcohol. Avoid other chemical cleaners, as they will damage the clear-coat finish and leave a sticky residue. Apply the remover or rubbing alcohol to a soft cloth and gently rub the scuff mark. Remember to treat the scuffed area only, not the entire bag. For The Interior: Stuff happens. If you had a major spill of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, etc., suction it up with a wet/dry vac. You may have to blot the spill with a bit of water to loosen residue as you vacuum. Repeat as needed to remove as much of the spillage as possible. Proactive tip: Next time, pack all liquids and spray cans / bottles in packing organizers  or plastic zip-close bags to avoid spills and luggage disasters. Even if you have not had any spills in your suitcase, its a good idea to vacuum the interior of your luggage to keep in clean. Don't forget to vacuum inside of any pockets. Check your pockets before vacuuming and make sure you haven't left any valuables inside. You can wipe away and small stains with a damp microfiber cloth. How To Disinfect Handles and Bottoms: Wipe handles with a damp microfiber cloth, a disinfecting wipe or an all-purpose cleaner. If there are wheels, wipe them off, too. For bags without wheels, take care to wipe the bottom of the bag. It often ends up sitting directly on floors and picking up all sorts of germs. How to Care For Your Fabric Luggage? Ballistic nylon and nylon bags which are dirty and/or dusty can easily be cleaned with a soft, damp microfiber cloth. For stains Briggs & Riley recommends using a mild laundry detergent and warm water. You can lightly sponge the stained area, but be careful not to soak the area.  Air dry your suitcase away from direct sunlight. Adhesive lint brush rollers work great to remove lint, fuzz balls and dust as well. How to Clean Molded Plastic, Hard-sided or Soft Vinyl Remove spots using a microfiber cloth and mild soap and water or, for stubborn stains, use a solution of all-purpose non-abrasive cleaner and water, mixed according to product directions. Rinse and dry. To add a layer of protection, apply a coat of silicone-based auto wax to hard-sided luggage or a coat of Armor All to soft vinyl or molded plastic. As always, check luggage manufacturer’s care guide for specific recommendations. How should I clean and care for my ballistic and leather bags? For leather bags Briggs & Riley recommends using leather conditioner to clean, protect, and polish the bag. You should never use any products containing bleach to clean your bag. Donatella raincoats are meant to be portable and fold up so they don’t take up much room at all in your luggage. Its two tone, reversible design makes the coat double functional and can slide right into any capsule wardrobe. Mycra Pac began with a vision of bringing beautiful, comfortable coats to every woman. Mycra Pac believes comfort comes first, but without sacrificing bold style. Raglan sleeves are a hallmark of the Mycra Pac Donatella raincoat. The benefit of raglan sleeves is it fits any shoulder width and leaves extra room in the sleeve to layer the raincoat over bulky sweaters. Raglan sleeves on the Mycra Pac coat are a comfortable alternative to set in sleeves of a trench coat, without sacrificing fit. Sleeves button at the cuff and can be rolled up to reveal the color on the otherside of the coat. Adapters enable your appliances to be plugged in to any type of electrical outlet around the world by changing the pin configuration of your voltage power plug. Remember - Travel Adapter Plugs do not change the voltage or the current that comes out of the outlet. Adapter & Converter Kits Adapters and Converters packaged together make an easy solution for the traveler who is visiting multiple countries with different electrical outlets.Generally, only non-grounded adapters are included in the adapter/converter kits so be sure to buy grounded adapters as well if you are planning to use grounded (3 prong) appliances.  Note that we do offer a Grounded Adapter Plug Kit for Europe – but this does not come with any converters – just the plugs.  Always double-check the wattage of your appliances to ensure that you choose the right converter or transformer. Voltage Converters Converters change the voltage of the electricity coming out of the wall outlet to be compatible with your appliances. Going In Style has both converters for both Americans traveling to Europe and Europeans traveling to America.  It is important to remember that converters are only designed for short-term use (20 – 25 minutes) - prolonged use will cause the converter to automatically shut down after time – but without damage to either your converter or your appliance. Voltage Transformers Transformers (sometimes deceptively called converters) perform the same function as a converter; namely, to modify the electrical wall voltage to be compatible with your appliances. The key difference here is that transformers are designed to operate continuously, whereas converters are meant only for short-term use. The trade-off is that voltage transformers are heavier in weight than voltage converters. Phone & Modem Accessories Need accessories for connecting your computer up to the internet? About Dual Voltage When traveling with appliances it is important to know whether your appliance is dual voltage.  If it is not dual voltage you will need either a converter or a transformer when traveling. This above video will show you how to check to make sure your appliance is dual voltage.   Typically cell phones, cameras, tablets and laptops are dual voltage and do not need a converter. Usually hair dryers, curling irons, battery chargers, hair straighteners, electronic razors and electronic toothbrushes not dual voltage.  These appliances will need either a converter or a transformer.  It is important to check the label for each of your appliances that you will be traveling with. The United States runs on about 120 volts electricity while many other countries run on 220 volts electricity or higher.  Without a converter or transformer you can burn out your appliance. All your Appliances are Dual Voltage ?
