Shoals, underwater hazards and shallow areas should be avoided. Treasure Island Yacht Harbor The Treasure Island Marina is managed by Almar Marina which is a separate organization from TIYC. Planning to arrive by boat?   Learn more here Driving to Treasure Island Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands are accessible via the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge/Interstate 80. Whether travelling from San Francisco or the Oakland/East Bay area, follow Interstate 80 onto the Bay Bridge and take the "Treasure Island/Yerba Buena Island" exit. If traveling from the East Bay, a toll is required to access the Bay Bridge. There are no gas stations located on-Island. Member Benefits Members of the Club are entitled to use our facilities, participate in a wide range of regattas and cruises, and enjoy activities and dining events at our clubhouse on Treasure Island. New member application process Reach out to the TIYC Membership Committee. By submitting the form or contacting the committee you will be able to start an application for membership, get answers to your questions and receive an invitation to attend an upcoming event. This provides everyone an opportunity to get to know each other and to learn what our club is all about. Secure a membership sponsor . Our membership application requires sponsorship form an existing member in good standing with the club. If you are new to the community, don't worry -- by attending an event, you’ll meet members and secure support and sponsorship for your application. We are a very welcoming club, you will feel right at home! Provide a reference . If you’ve been a member of another yacht club, please let us know on your application. If you are new to boating, a reference from another social, civic, volunteer or recreational organization is acceptable. Complete an application and send dues . We run new membership drives and special promotions every year, and our dues are some of the most affordable in the SF Bay Area! Learn more here . Treasure Island Yacht Club is a small yacht club located at Clipper Cove on Treasure Island at the heart of the San Francisco Bay. Originally founded as a US Navy recreation club, the club was re-established by a group of committed members after the closing of the base and membership is now open to civilian, military and veteran applicants. Our membership includes power and sailing boaters, interested in racing and cruising.  We are affiliated with the Pacific Inter-Club Yachting Association , the U.S. Naval Sailing Association , Yachting Club of America and the Yacht Racing Association of San Francisco Bay . Our Clubhouse is located in the historic Building One on Treasure Island. Hours of operation Our Lighthouse Bar is open during the season (April - October). No reservations required. Saturdays 12:00 - 17:00 Sundays 12:00 - 17:00 PARKING & ENTRANCE On weekdays, visitors can park for free in the Visitor Parking designated areas up to a maximum of two (2) hours in the lot in front of Building One. On weekends, reserved TIYC parking is available around the side of the building (enter from the side entrance). TIYC Phone : (415) 434-4475 Arriving on Treasure Island There are a number of ways to get to Treasure Island. See below for details about arriving via car or boat. There is limited public transportation available (bus) but there is a new Ferry services on Treasure Island that departs from the San Francisco Ferry Building! Planning a longer stay? There’s lots to do on Treasure Island, learn more about activities, museums and restaurants on the island: TREASURE ISLAND Arriving by Car By Car: From San Francisco: Take I-80 E and take the Treasure Island Rd. exit 4A. Continue straight onto Treasure Island Rd. From the East Bay/Oakland: Take the I-80 W Bay Bridge to the Treasure Island Exit. At the stop sign, turn right onto Macalla Road. Continue straight to the end of the road,  then turn right at the stop sign onto Treasure Island Road. ​ Parking : On weekdays, visitors can park for free in the Visitor Parking designated areas up to a maximum of two (2) hours in the lot in front of Building One. On weekends, TIYC parking is available around the side of the building Arriving by Sea TIYC is located at Clipper Cove, a TIDA special use area, requiring an anchoring permit for extend stays. The cove offers open anchorage with no fixed moorings, and affords some shelter during western and northerly weather systems; with a mud bottom and depths up to 20 feet. Shoals, underwater hazards and shallow areas should be avoided. Cruise-in groups using the anchorage may request use of the TIYC dingy dock. Clipper Cove is not regularly dredged and can become impassable at low tide. Please use this anchorage chart to plan your approach using the deep water channel. Dinghy Dock Limited availability; visitors must arrange in advance and pay a $25 refundable key deposit to use the access card for leaving and entering the dock. Overnight anchorage for cruisers is permitted with appropriate notification to TIDA. Public Bus or TI Ferry By Public Transportation:   From San Francisco : Muni 25 bus runs from downtown San Francisco and stops in front of the Treasure Island Museum.  Click here for details.  The Muni 25 leaves downtown San Francisco from the Salesforce Transit Center. The Muni 25 stops on Treasure Island in front of Building One on Avenue of the Palms, which is the first stop on the island. From the East Bay:  There is currently no direct route to Treasure Island from the East Bay, however, you can take  BART  or  AC Transit Transbay Bus  to San Francisco Salesforce Transit Center, then take Muni Bus Route 25 to Treasure Island. The Muni 25 leaves downtown San Francisco from the Salesforce Transit Center. The Muni 25 stops on Treasure Island across from Building One on Clipper Cove Avenue, which is the first stop on the island. Alternatively, you can take BART or AC Transit Transbay bus to the Ferry Building and then take the ferry.  Check the schedule and purchase tickets online , or purchase tickets in person at the gate. By Ferry: Regular daily ferry service now running between Treasure Island and San Francisco's Ferry Building. Check the schedule and purchase tickets online , or purchase tickets in person at the gate. Additional information: Arriving by Sea Clipper Cove is not regularly dredged and can become impassable at low tide. Please use the following chart to plan your approach using the deeper water channel. Anchorage Anchorage by recreational vessels is managed by Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA) on a permit basis in Clipper Cove. Overnight anchorage for cruisers is permitted with appropriate notification to TIDA. Full information may be found in the Clipper Cove Special-Use Area Rules and Regulations . Vessels and vessel operators must adhere to all Rules and Regulations at all times within Clipper Cove. Short-Term Anchorage Permit (25 to 96 Hours) Submit following information to TIDA via website or voicemail at 415-274-0382. Vessel name & CF number; Vessel owner name and on-board contact phone #; Dates of entry to and exit from Clipper Cove Following notification this Permit is considered issued unless boater is contacted by TIDA. Consecutive permits are not issued. Long-Term Anchorage Permits (97 Hours to 21 Days) Complete and submit a Long-Term Anchorage Permit Application and receive a Long-Term Anchorage Permit. Hard-copy Permit must be kept onboard vessel at all times. Consecutive permits are not issued. Vessels shall not be allowed to anchor beyond 21 days without explicit TIDA approval, including verifiable proof of threat to life safety, threat to property safety, or unsafe weather conditions. Treasure Island Yacht Harbor: Marina Access, Guest Slips & Dinghy Dock Treasure Isle Marina is embarking on a significant and ambitious renovation program. Despite this substantial refurbishment, Treasure Island Yacht Harbor remains open to the public and currently accommodates boats up to 60 feet in length. TIYC Club Amenities FAQs Amenities Our Lighthouse Bar is open on Saturdays & Sundays from 12-5pm (no reservation required). Cruise-in groups with a reservation may request a “Pirate Dinner” service or attend one our many social events . Club amenities include the club house, dingy dock and free ice (during harbor master hours). Dinghy dock visitors must arrange in advance for a $25 refundable key deposit to use the access card for leaving and and entering the docks. The group leader will be responsible for the key and combination. Marina Access, Guest Slips & Dinghy Dock : 415-981-2416 Location TIYC is located at Clipper Cove. Clipper Cove is a TIDA special use area, requiring an anchoring permit for extend stays. The cove offers open anchorage with no fixed moorings, and affords some shelter during western and northerly weather systems; with a mud bottom and depths up to 20 feet. Shoals, underwater hazards and shallow areas should be avoided. Cruise-in groups using the anchorage may request use of the TIYC dingy dock. Marina Access, Guest Slips & Dinghy Dock : 415-981-2416 Slip Reservations The Treasure Island Marina is managed by Almar Marina (not affiliated with TIYC) SLIP RESERVATIONS: please contact the Marina Manager, Anthony Cirillo, at 415-981-2416. Almar offers slips and a guest dock for a fee (or free to slip holders at another Almar marina). Almar customers may request a gate key (deposit requred) to exit and enter the marina, and use the marina shower facility. Treasure Island Marina offers a black water pumpout, but it hasn’t worked since 2019. There is no fuel available on Treasure Island. Clipper Cove is not regularly dredged and can become impassable at low tide. Anchorage by recreational vessels is managed by Treasure Island Development Authority on a permit basis in Clipper Cove. Our new ferry departs from the Ferry Building in San Francisco. Regular daily ferry service now running between Treasure Island and San Francisco's Ferry Building.
