Our dentist will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and overall oral cavity. This examination serves to identify any existing dental concerns, such as tooth decay, gum disease, or potential indications of oral cancer. This proactive approach allows us to detect and address issues early on, ensuring the best possible outcomes for your oral well-being. In addition to the examination, your first visit might include a teeth cleaning session. Depending on the condition of your teeth and gums, this cleaning may be carried out on the spot or scheduled for a follow-up appointment. This tailored approach ensures that we provide the most effective care based on your specific needs. Timeframe Your first dental appointment is designed to be thorough yet efficient. You can anticipate spending approximately 1 to 1½ hours with us. This timeframe allows us to conduct a comprehensive assessment of your oral health while also giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have. For patients under the age of 18, we kindly request that a parent accompanies them to the appointment. We believe that involving parents ensures a holistic approach to your dental care and fosters a collaborative environment for maintaining excellent oral health. What to Bring With just a few simple forms, we’ll ask for relevant medical history, any medications you might be taking, your dental history, and any dental insurance coverage you may have. Kids first visit It is generally recommended that an infant be seen by a dentist by the age of 1 or within 6 months after his or her first tooth. What happens at the first dental visit? The first dental visit is usually short and involves very little treatment. This visit gives your child an opportunity to meet the dentist in a non-threatening and friendly way. Some dentists may ask the parent to sit in the dental chair and hold their child during the examination. The parent may also be asked to wait in the reception area during part of the visit so that a relationship can be built between your child and the dentist. During the examination, the dentist will check all of your child’s existing teeth for decay, examine your child’s bite, and look for any potential problems with the gums, jaw, and oral tissues. If indicated, the dentist will clean any teeth and assess the need for fluoride. He or she will also educate parents about oral health care basics for children and discuss dental developmental issues and answer any questions. ARESTIN Post Op Instructions To help your gums heal and get the most benefit from your Arestin treatment, please follow these simple instructions: For the First 12 Hours: Avoid touching the treated area with your tongue, fingers, or any objects (like toothpicks or floss). Do not floss or use interdental brushes around the treated teeth. Do not eat hard, crunchy, or sticky foods (chips, popcorn, nuts, gum, etc.) For the First 24 Hours: Do not brush the treated areas. Avoid vigorous rinsing or using mouthwash unless directed by your periodontist. Eat a soft diet (e.g., yogurt, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, smoothies, soft pasta). For the Next 10 Days: Do not floss or use interdental brushes around the treated teeth until your provider gives you the go-ahead. Brush gently in the treated area after the first 24 hours using a soft-bristle toothbrush. Continue to avoid crunchy, hard, or sticky foods near the treated sites. Additional Notes: Mild soreness or sensitivity in the treated area is normal and should improve within a few days. * If you experience significant discomfort, swelling, or any unusual symptoms, contact our office promptly. Our dentist will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and overall oral cavity. This examination serves to identify any existing dental concerns, such as tooth decay, gum disease, or potential indications of oral cancer. This proactive approach allows us to detect and address issues early on, ensuring the best possible outcomes for your oral well-being. In addition to the examination, your first visit might include a teeth cleaning session. Depending on the condition of your teeth and gums, this cleaning may be carried out on the spot or scheduled for a follow-up appointment. This tailored approach ensures that we provide the most effective care based on your specific needs. Timeframe Your first dental appointment is designed to be thorough yet efficient. You can anticipate spending approximately 1 to 1½ hours with us. This timeframe allows us to conduct a comprehensive assessment of your oral health while also giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have. For patients under the age of 18, we kindly request that a parent accompanies them to the appointment. We believe that involving parents ensures a holistic approach to your dental care and fosters a collaborative environment for maintaining excellent oral health. What to Bring With just a few simple forms, we’ll ask for relevant medical history, any medications you might be taking, your dental history, and any dental insurance coverage you may have. Kids first visit It is generally recommended that an infant be seen by a dentist by the age of 1 or within 6 months after his or her first tooth. What happens at the first dental visit? The first dental visit is usually short and involves very little treatment. This visit gives your child an opportunity to meet the dentist in a non-threatening and friendly way. Some dentists may ask the parent to sit in the dental chair and hold their child during the examination. The parent may also be asked to wait in the reception area during part of the visit so that a relationship can be built between your child and the dentist. During the examination, the dentist will check all of your child’s existing teeth for decay, examine your child’s bite, and look for any potential problems with the gums, jaw, and oral tissues. If indicated, the dentist will clean any teeth and assess the need for fluoride. He or she will also educate parents about oral health care basics for children and discuss dental developmental issues and answer any questions. ARESTIN Post Op Instructions To help your gums heal and get the most benefit from your Arestin treatment, please follow these simple instructions: For the First 12 Hours: Avoid touching the treated area with your tongue, fingers, or any objects (like toothpicks or floss). Do not floss or use interdental brushes around the treated teeth. Do not eat hard, crunchy, or sticky foods (chips, popcorn, nuts, gum, etc.) For the First 24 Hours: Do not brush the treated areas. Avoid vigorous rinsing or using mouthwash unless directed by your periodontist. Eat a soft diet (e.g., yogurt, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, smoothies, soft pasta). For the Next 10 Days: Do not floss or use interdental brushes around the treated teeth until your provider gives you the go-ahead. Brush gently in the treated area after the first 24 hours using a soft-bristle toothbrush. Continue to avoid crunchy, hard, or sticky foods near the treated sites. Additional Notes: Mild soreness or sensitivity in the treated area is normal and should improve within a few days. * If you experience significant discomfort, swelling, or any unusual symptoms, contact our office promptly.
