Each client will identify their life goals and wellness practices, which combined will create a heightened level of vitality. Life Goals + Wellness = Vitality. Your Vitality Equation is your highest life goals supported by your wellness practices to create increased levels of vitality. Example of a Vitality Equation : Write my memoir ( Life Goal ) + Do yoga and meditation 3x/week ( Wellness ) = I am energized and motivated from my yoga/meditation routine, which helps me focus on my book at least 2 hours a day. ( Vitality ) Goal Clarification Taking the time to deeply explore the questions, “What do I want to accomplish in this next stage of my life?” and “What does that look like?” In addition, we ask “Which wellness practices would best support my physical and emotional health to empower my larger life goals?” Laura will guide you in the process of looking at the big picture of what’s most important to you at this stage of your life. Action-Oriented Homework With each coaching session you will create personal homework directly related to what you are working on in your life. This homework will help you move forward towards your goals and is: Targeted to your specific life situation Challenging enough to keep you engaged Attainable (not too challenging) so that you are able to follow through and complete the task at hand Accountability This element is what ensures that your “follow through” actually happens. During the coaching session you commit to specific homework that will help move you closer to your goals. The following week Laura will ask questions such as: “Did you do your homework?” “What worked; what didn’t?” Or, if you weren’t able to complete your homework: “What got in your way?” Knowing that a seasoned professional coach is going to engage with you on whether (or not) you followed through is the catalyst that most people need to actually do those things they’ve been meaning to do. Therapy Coaching can be distinguished from therapy in a number of ways. First, Coaching is a profession that supports personal and professional growth and development based on individual-initiated change in pursuit of specific actionable outcomes. These outcomes are linked to personal or professional success. Coaching is forward moving and future-focused.
