ACPWA manages the planning, design, construction and maintenance of these facilities. Additionally, the Agency facilitates private development through the review and issuance of permits and inspection of private developments. With the exception of Flood Control services that are provided throughout the County, ACPWA primarily serves the unincorporated areas of Alameda County. The Agency is a multi-disciplinary, high performing organization that fulfills its mission through its skilled and dedicated workforce organized in four distinct structures: Engineering Department; Construction and Development Department; Maintenance and Operations Department, and Administration/Management Services Department. How to Use Mobile Citizen Once you have downloaded the app, it allows you to simply take a photo of the issue you’d like to report, and submit it directly to ACPWA. Your request is then received by our Maintenance and Operations team and processed immediately. In most cases, issues are resolved within 48 hours depending on complexity. We encourage items like mattresses, tires, and other refuse to be disposed of responsibly. Please report roadway hazards such as fallen trees, downed power lines, mudslides or other road or pavement obstructions through our online portal. Report Report Illegal Dumping It is illegal to leave debris, furniture or appliances on sidewalks or roadways; or in creeks, channels or culverts. The Alameda County Public Works Agency offers online services for acquisition of building , encroachment and well/drilling permits , and continues to expand its online permit offerings. Through the Virtual Permit Center , an internet based online portal, customers can apply for building permits from any-where at any-time using their computer devices. Additionally, for those applicants who wants to secure approval and permits in person, ACPWA offers a One-Stop Permit Center allowing applicants to interact with various departments including building and grading, planning, and fire, at a single location.
