See what stations will be open and what stations will be closed. BART WiFi powered by Boldyn BART riders can now access free Wi-Fi 6E at five heavily travelled stations. The service is now live at San Francisco International Airport, West Oakland, Embarcadero, Civic Center, and Powell Street, providing station visitors with critical connectivity. This launch marks the first milestone in a comprehensive digital transformation project that will bring state-of-the-art Wi-Fi connectivity to all BART stations over the next couple of years, followed by onboard connectivity on all BART trains. The Wi-Fi is powered by Boldyn Networks, a leading neutral host provider.  BART riders will access the SSID network named “BART Wi-Fi," and no password or email is required. Sessions on the network will last 20 minutes, and users will be required to confirm they are still actively using the network beyond 20 minutes.   Once users select to join the BART Wi-Fi network, their device will present an option to connect automatically. If that option is selected, their device will remember the SSID. When within the coverage area of the network, their device will automatically join the SSID, and a captive portal page will be presented to ensure they are still active on the network.  Benefits Eases strain on cell network during high-density events.  Overall, phones perform better when connected to reliable Wi-Fi, especially in a congested area. It saves battery life too.  Essential for international visitors to communicate without U.S. roaming plan.  Ensures uninterrupted connectivity for medical/health monitoring devices.  Ensures riders can access digital fare payments and emergency communications.  Free Wi-Fi comes at no cost to BART Offering Wi-Fi to riders comes at no cost to BART because of our Licensing Agreement with Boldyn Networks (formerly Mobilitie LLC) that was entered into in 2020. The agreement allows Boldyn to use BART property to deploy cellular and fiber-optic infrastructure to enable: 5G cellular coverage in the SFMTA (Muni) underground New fiber-optic capacity through the Transbay Tube Multiple cellular installations around the Bay Area This Agreement allows major service providers, like AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Comcast, and many others, to deliver the connectivity people rely on. BART receives a share of telecom revenue generated on BART property—estimated at approximately $200 million over 20 years—along with ownership of several new assets. One of those assets is station Wi-Fi, which is provided to BART at no cost. Boldyn is responsible for the full cost of installing, operating, and maintaining the Wi-Fi system.     BART Wi-Fi FAQs Question: Where is BART Wi-Fi available? Answer: BART Wi-Fi is currently available in limited BART stations listed below.   San Francisco International Airport Station Civic Center Station Powell Street Station Embarcadero Station West Oakland Station BART will be launching Wi-Fi in more stations throughout 2026-2027 and an updated list will be located here. Question: Is BART Wi-Fi available on trains? Answer: No, BART Wi-Fi is currently only available in the limited stations provided above. Question: What is the Network Name (SSID) and Password for BART Wi-Fi? Answer: SSID: BART Wi-Fi    Password: No password is required Question: Will I have to enter my personal information like an email address to access BART Wi-Fi? Answer: No Question: After joining the BART Wi-Fi Network, how long will my session stay active before timing out? Answer: Your session on the network will need to be refreshed every 20 mins.  Every 20 minutes, the user will need to confirm that it is still actively using the Wi-Fi by navigating a brief captive portal page. Question: Once I’ve connected to the BART Wi-Fi network, will my phone automatically join the network the next time I’m at a BART station that has Wi-Fi available? See what stations will be open and what stations will be closed. Bike Rules BIKES ON BART RULES Beginning January 1, 2024, bikes are allowed on most of the escalators throughout the BART system*, pursuant to a Board of Directors vote at their September 28, 2023 meeting. The vote authorizes further changes to BART’s bike rules, including allowing bikes on all train cars except the first car (biked were previously banned from the first three cars during commute times), and allowing bicyclists to secure bikes on BART instead of holding them.  *Bikes will remain banned from BART’s ten narrow escalators located at the following three stations: 19th Street Oakland, Antioch and Oakland Airport Connector Bikes rules beginning January 1, 2024: Bikes are allowed on all trains except in the first car or any crowded car. Folded bikes are allowed in all cars at all times. Regardless of any other rule, bikes are never allowed on crowded cars. Passengers must hold or secure their bikes while on the trains. Bikes are allowed on elevators, stairs, and escalators. Passengers are never allowed to ride bikes inside stations, including but not limited to station platforms and concourses. This prohibition does not include parking lots, roadways, or outdoor paths intended for bicycle use. Bicyclists must yield priority seating to seniors and people with disabilities, yield to other passengers, and not block aisles or doors. In case of an evacuation, bikes must be left on the train and must not block aisles or doors. Passengers under 14 years old with bikes must be accompanied by an adult. Gas-powered vehicles are never permitted in stations or on trains. If left unattended on BART property, bikes must be locked at racks or inside lockers. Bikes parked against poles, fences or railings will be removed. Violation of the above rules is subject to citation under CA Vehicle Code Sec. 21113 and Sec. 42001. See what stations will be open and what stations will be closed. New Fare Gates & Station Hardening BART successfully completed the installation of Next Generation Fare Gates at all 50 stations in August. The hard work of the project team allowed BART to beat its deadline to have new gates in all stations by the end of 2025 by four months. BART celebrated the completion of the installation work with a ribbon cutting ceremony at West Dublin/Pleasanton Station. Next Generation Fare Gates have changed the feel and appearance of stations and are already serving as a strong deterrent against fare evasion. The gates bring a new look and improved experience, offering state-of-the-art technology that is boosting safety by deterring fare evasion as well as enhancing access for people in wheelchairs and those who bring bikes and strollers on BART. Installing new fare gates to prevent fare evasion is an accountability requirement for BART to receive SB 125 emergency state funding in response to the pandemic. Riders can provide feedback about the fare gates by using our comment form . These changes mean balances must be calculated by the Clipper back-office system in the cloud instead of the actual Clipper readers, which is why the updated balance can't be shown. The new Clipper card readers on the fare gates themselves no longer have fare calculation responsibilities. The experience will be similar to when you use a debit card to tap a retail device – those retail devices do not show your balance either. For the free or discounted transfers once they launch, your new balance won’t be calculated until the back office recognizes you rode more than one transit system and it can take multiple days for repricing.  To check your balance, you can tap your Clipper card at any BART vending machines, BART Board TV | Bay Area Rapid Transit Skip to main content Main navigation Schedules Schedules Real Time Departures Line Schedule Timetables Caltrain Transfer Timetables Trip Planner Alerts and Advisories Early Bird Express Capitol Corridor Transfer Timetables Weather Guide Plan Your Trip Create your own customized schedule Use the Trip Planner Stations Stations System Map Elevator Status Escalator Status Station Details Just select your station on the Station List page Select Your Station Using BART Using BART BART Apps Parking Parking Overview Parking Citations Carpool to BART Electric Vehicle (EV) Parking Pricing Parking FAQ Pay By App Airport Connections San Francisco International Airport (SFO) Oakland International Airport (OAK) Transit Connections Bikes on BART Bikes on BART Bike FAQ Bike Rules Bike Task Force Holiday Schedule Social Resources Accessibility Accessibility Overview Elevator Status Paratransit Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Card BART Accessibility Task Force Accessibility Contacts FAQs Lost & Found Safety & Security Security on BART Addressing Gender Based Violence Injury Prevention Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) Earthquake Safety Title VI Service Animals/Pets Wireless Connections Brochures Restrooms at BART Safe & Clean Plan Bikes are Welcome Just follow a few simple rules when taking your bike on BART Read More Fares Fares and Pay by Phone Clipper Customer Service Purchasing and Group Sales Discounts Tax Benefits Fare Calculator Refunds How Much is Your Fare? A gift from the Global Data Registry

When the Global Data Registry crawled https://www.bart.gov/, we found no structured data — the language AI systems use to understand and describe a business online.

Schema is how ChatGPT, Google, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity know what your business does and how to describe you accurately to your customers. Without it, AI systems are guessing.

The most important field in this block is sameAs — a verified edge connecting your website to your permanent record at the Global Data Registry. This is a free, confirmed link to a real verified source. It costs nothing and gives your website a confirmed node in the graph that AI systems traverse when building answers about your business.

Copy the block below and paste it into the <head> of your website. Or drop it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and ask it to extend it with your full business details — that is the fastest path to a complete schema record.

▶   What is schema?

Schema is a standard vocabulary maintained at schema.org that lets websites describe themselves in a language machines can read. When you add schema to your website, you are telling AI systems, search engines, and knowledge graphs exactly what your business is and how it connects to the rest of the web.
