All Posts Funerals Funeral Services at Christian Assembly Church Share this resource Times & Locations We’d love to meet you! Join us at church. We are honored to be your church family and serve you as you grieve, remember and celebrate the life of a loved one. If you would like to request a pastor from Christian Assembly to lead a memorial service, please submit a Funeral Service Questionnaire so we can confirm availability and begin making arrangements. For any questions please refer to the FAQ section below. Frequently Asked Questions: Is there someone at the church who can help make funeral and/or burial arrangements? We recommend you contact a funeral director to make arrangements for your loved one’s resting place. Our pastoral staff is able to help you plan and facilitate a funeral service, and to offer pastoral care to the family. Are Christian Assembly’s facilities available for a funeral service? Our facilities are not guaranteed to be available. You may request use of our facilities (included in the Funeral Service Questionnaire), but we recommend finding a funeral home, or alternative venue. Note – use of the church’s campus for a funeral service is generally limited to Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday mornings when available. Is there space available for a reception on the Christian Assembly campus? Does the church offer any food or beverage? Christian Assembly does not accommodate receptions, or food and beverages on our campus. We recommend you find another location for family and friends to gather following the funeral service. Are musicians from Christian Assembly available for funerals? Christian Assembly cannot guarantee the availability of a musician. You must make a specific request for a musician or worship leader (included in the Funeral Service Questionnaire), and communicate directly with the pastor facilitating the funeral service regarding your plans. Who else should be involved in the funeral service? We recommend identifying two, or three people who can share personal words about your loved one during the funeral service – one person to share an overview of your loved one’s life, and two or three others who can share brief remarks and memories. Are there any costs involved with the use of Christian Assembly’s campus or the services of a pastor? It is customary to give an honorarium – a financial gift of appreciation for the time and service rendered – to the pastor facilitating the funeral service (there is no standard amount for the honorarium). Other honorariums are customarily given to a participating worship leader, and/or Audio/Visual Technician. Honorariums can be given before or at the conclusion of the funeral service. There is no cost for the use of the church facilities. What is the church address and phone number? 2424 Colorado Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90041 / (323) 255-1421. All Posts Weddings Weddings at Christian Assembly Church Share this resource Times & Locations We’d love to meet you! Join us at church. For those planning a wedding, we are delighted at the prospect of being a part of this important decision and honored to offer our support to the success of your marriage. If you’d like to request a Christian Assembly pastor to officiate your wedding, we invite you to follow the steps outlined below, consider what we think about Christian marriage, and review our recommendations. How do I request a Christian Assembly Church pastor to officiate my wedding? Fill out and submit a wedding questionnaire Attend the Pre-Married Class (Before-“I Do”) or schedule a series of appointments for Pre-Marriage counseling Once the availability of a pastor has been confirmed, schedule a time to meet with that pastor to discuss specific plans and details of your wedding ceremony. What does Christian Assembly believe about marriage? People come from many different backgrounds and traditions that shape their understanding of marriage. At Christian Assembly, we recognize the value of that diversity while holding firmly to what we believe are the essential ingredients for entering a covenant of Christian marriage based on the Bible and lessons learned. In Biblical teaching, marriage was given by God to Adam and Eve in the garden, and is understood to be an expression of God’s love for us. Christian marriage is a unique and exclusive covenant made by a man and a woman to share their lives together in a bond of love that reflects the love of Jesus Christ. That requires much more than a ceremony or a blessing from the church. It requires that the bride and groom both put their faith in Jesus and commit their lives to following Him. This is why we take marriage so seriously at Christian Assembly. We do not choose to simply perform wedding ceremonies. Rather, we want to help build marriages that thrive in the love of Jesus. To that end, we have identified a list of recommendations to anyone who plans to be married as a part of our local church. Recommendations: Make individual commitments to trust and follow Jesus as the top priority in your marriage. On the basis of Biblical teaching, we urge both man and woman to be committed to following Jesus before they are married. Not sharing the same faith in substance and practice leads to hazardous ramifications in marriage. If you or your fiancé have not put your faith in Jesus and you want to learn more about what that means, please contact us. Any of our pastoral staff would be happy to talk with you. Seek formal counseling prior to being married. This can be done in the form of a pre-marriage class offered by Christian Assembly, counseling sessions with our Relationship Center staff or a pastoral staff member, or counseling with any other trained counselors in or outside of Christian Assembly. Your marriage will have a greater chance to thrive if you enter it knowing your areas of strength and weakness and gaining tools for how best to manage them as a couple. Get connected and involved at Christian Assembly. Even great marriages face challenges, and every bride and groom who strives to keep Jesus at the center of their marriage needs a community of friends who are committed to doing a Jesus-centered life with them. At Christian Assembly, there are multiple opportunities to build this kind of community such as the Partnership class, Life Groups, Women’s ministries and Men’s ministries. Check our website for more ways to get connected and to serve together as a couple. Contact the Christian Assembly staff at least 3 months before your wedding day. This will give us an opportunity to connect with you and to know how best we can serve and support you. We will ask you to submit a wedding questionnaire and will plan to meet with you to make plans for the wedding day. Contact Us: If you have any questions regarding marriage, we would be happy to talk with you and to discern together this important decision in your life. For more info, please email

All Posts Kids Baby Dedications Share this resource Times & Locations We’d love to meet you! Join us at church. What is a Baby Dedication? “Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it.” Proverbs 22:6 It is our tradition to follow the example of many families in the Bible, including Jesus’ family, and dedicate our children to God when they are born. The dedication is a symbol of choosing to raise our children to know and follow Jesus, and it’s a way of welcoming them into the larger family of Christian Assembly. Together, with parents, we want to do all we can as a community to ensure that our little ones grow up in a church where they know they are loved, where they know the good news of Jesus and where they know they can grow to be all that God has planned for them to be. Families and friends are welcome to join you in the service when you dedicate your child. Cameras are welcome as well. We encourage you to make the moment special and memorable for you and your family. To Dedicate Your Baby: Your baby must be less than 1 year old. If you have adopted a child and would like to participate in the dedications, please contact us at: 323-255-2516. Click here to fill out a Baby Dedication Form Once your request is turned in, a CA staff member will contact you to confirm the Dedication. You will be receiving a letter explaining more of what a Baby Dedication means for you and your child. Note: We are able to accommodate 5 families per service, so we ask that forms are submitted as soon as possible. We dedicate babies during our weekend services. Please submit your request form at least two weeks prior to the date of the dedication. (You can submit your form as early as you’d like) For more information about baby dedications email us at
[email protected] We love babies and celebrate with parents who come to dedicate their little ones. Dedication is the commitment of parents to raise their children to know and follow Jesus Christ. If this is your pledge, then we are honored to be a part of this experience with you! Please Note: We cannot guarantee which pastor from our staff will do your baby dedication. We are confident that each member of our pastoral staff is equipped to perform your baby dedication and will be excited to celebrate with you for this special occasion. 2026 BABY DEDICATION DATES: July 11th and 12th - forms due by June 29th November 14th and 15th - forms due by Nov 2nd Fill out a Baby Dedication Form Here Additional Resources View All Finances Financial Stewardship Seminar Read More Kingdom Kingdom Prayer Guide Read More Growth Daily Bible Reading Plans Read More Mailing Address 2424 Colorado Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90041 Contact Us (323) 255-1421

Take Your Next Step Baptism If you’ve decided to trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior but haven’t been baptized as a Christ follower, we encourage you to take your next step and get baptized. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward reality, and it symbolizes the new life you have in Christ. Baptism occurs several times a year during our weekend services. Sign up for an upcoming baptism class. Baptism Class Sign UP Frequently Asked Questions About Baptism What is baptism? Baptism is a public declaration of personal faith in Jesus Christ – an outward expression of an inward transformation symbolizing repentance, new life, and unity with Jesus in His death and resurrection. Why does our church baptize people? We baptize because Jesus both taught and modeled baptism. In our weekend gatherings, baptism allows our church family to celebrate life transformation and welcome believers into the family of God. What outcome should I expect to experience after baptism? Baptism is simply a way to publicly show that we’ve put our trust in Him and want to follow Him. Baptism itself doesn’t solve our problems, erase our shame, or make God love us more. God is already for us, and His love doesn’t change based on what we do. Baptism is not what saves us or makes us “good enough.” Only Jesus brings forgiveness, healing, and a restored relationship with God. Do I need to be baptized more than once? Generally, no. If someone was already baptized as a genuine expression of personal faith and commitment to Jesus, we believe re-baptism is not necessary. Even if they have gone through difficult or wandering seasons, we celebrate God’s enduring faithfulness and abounding grace. When is re-baptism appropriate? Re-baptism is appropriate if a person realizes their original baptism was done for the wrong reasons such as pressure from others or without a personal commitment to Christ. In those cases, being baptized again as a sincere act of faith is both good and appropriate. What if I was baptized as an infant? If someone is a Christ follower but was baptized as a baby - having no memory of the occasion and not having made a personal commitment to Jesus - then we'd encourage that person to get baptized now. Baptism should occur after you've made your own personal decision to follow Jesus. What does baptism symbolize? Baptism symbolizes that a believer has died to their old sinful nature, been raised to new life in Jesus, and committed to follow Him as Lord. It shows a desire to grow in Christ. Can someone be baptized while living in unrepentant sin? Baptism is a declaration of commitment to Jesus. If someone is knowingly living in an ongoing pattern of unrepentant sin, it’s important to take steps of repentance first. Baptism should reflect a sincere desire to follow Jesus. When do baptisms take place? We conduct baptisms during our weekend services so our church family can celebrate together. Each person being baptized shares a brief personal testimony that is read aloud during the service. Baptism Still have questions? Christian Assembly Church About Us Founded in 1907, Christian Assembly is a multi-generational, multi-ethnic church started in response to God’s grace shown to us through Jesus Christ. Our Mission God’s grace compels us to lead spiritually convinced and unconvinced people to complete commitment to Jesus Christ. Join Our Partnership Class Who We Are Our Values Grace Grace is God’s unconditional love for us through His Son, Jesus Christ. God loves us even though we do not deserve His love. He loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place and pay the penalty for our sin. (Ephesians 2:4-10, Romans 5:8) Worship Worship is the act of building a growing, loving relationship with God. Worship happens when we lovingly respond to God’s great love for us. It’s about loving God with all of our heart, mind, and soul. Worship includes singing, praying, and giving, but it’s really a total life experience. (Romans 12:1-2) Family Become part of God’s family and do the Jesus-centered life together. When you respond to God’s grace by placing your faith in Jesus, you become part of a new family – the family of God (see John 1:12 & Matthew 12:46-50). We are designed to do the Jesus-centered life together, not alone or apart. Kingdom Sharing God’s grace by loving and serving the city and world around us. This includes both acts of mercy and justice, as well as verbally telling people about Jesus Christ and how they can be saved by His life, death, and resurrection. (Mark 1:15, Matthew 6:10, Matthew 6:33, 2 Corinthians 5:17-19) What We Believe Statement of Faith The sole basis for our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely God-inspired, infallible, and the final authority on all matters on which it speaks. As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – each possessing all the attributes of deity. God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from Him. Salvation comes only through God’s grace – not human effort – and must be received personally by repentance and faith. Jesus Christ, second Person of the Trinity, was born of a virgin named Mary. He lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily and necessarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross as our substitute. This accomplished salvation for all who trust in Him alone. Jesus rose from the dead and is the only mediator between us and God. He baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit. He will return to earth to consummate history. The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to Christ and love for others. The church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need. At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Only believers will enjoy eternal fellowship with God. What We Believe What is the Gospel? Gospel – good news that changes everything This is the most important question in human history. All of us realize that life is not always as it should be. Something is wrong. We know and we dream that there is something more, something better. Jesus is that dream come true. He lived a life that was entirely free of regret because it was a life that perfectly pleased God at every turn – the kind of life that only God could live; the kind of life that deserved love and every reward we can imagine God to give. That is why when Jesus was brutally executed on a cross, those who followed him and trusted him were convinced that the light they had found had been overcome by the darkness of our world. But when all else is wrong, God is all right. Three days after Jesus died on the cross and was sealed in a tomb, he was raised to life by God’s power. This is good news that changes everything! Because Jesus died and rose again we do not have to remain trapped by the brokenness of this world, by the mistakes we’ve made, by the sins we’ve committed. We don’t have to wonder if God is for us or against us. We don’t have to search for love in all the wrong places. We can be confident in God’s perfect love for us. We can know that Jesus is our Savior. We can trust that the powerful Spirit of God will empower us to live the life that God created us to live. [email protected] . Kingdom Foster Care Read More The Crisis LA County has one of the largest populations of children in the foster care system in the United States. Over 35,000 children have experienced abuse and neglect and are without the love of a strong family. This justice issue is also interconnected with homelessness and human trafficking. God’s Heart The Bible reveals God’s heart for the widow and orphan. It also reveals God’s heart for the church to care for these vulnerable children and families. The church is the hope of the world and we are called to bring hope and healing to these little ones. (James 1:27, Isaiah 58:6-9, Isaiah 1:17, Psalm 82:3, Matt 25:35, Mark 9:37) Watch Here & Learn More Care Communities | Why support a foster family? Here are some ways to get involved: Join a Care Community We believe in the importance of the local church to stand in the gap in this crisis. However, many foster families need help. Only 50% of foster families make it beyond the first year. With the help of care communities, the foster family has a retention rate of 90%. In addition, every third care community generates a new foster family, as people are spurred on to take an increased step of faith to be involved. A Care Community is a team of 6-8 committed volunteers that act as an extended family to support a foster family or safe families. The support of a Care Community is unique to each family but includes things such as bringing meals, supplying or sourcing practical needs (clothing, furniture, school supplies), mentoring kids, tutoring, and praying for the family. If you would like to learn more about joining a Care Community or receiving help from a care community email

Open Your Home Become a Volunteer Host Volunteer Hosts open their homes to children whose parents are experiencing a short-term emergency or a longer-term crisis. Designed to extend and strengthen the community safety net for at-risk families, temporary hosting is a positive alternative to the state child welfare system, allowing parents to work out their problems without having to worry about losing custody of their children. Hostings range from a few nights to several months, and you don’t need to have extra bedrooms in order to host. Foster to Adopt is the process of becoming a forever home to a child or children whose parental rights have been terminated. Christian Assembly is partnering with Olive Crest, a non-profit organization that seeks to transform the lives of at-risk children through the power of family. This mission exists in the context of Christian Assembly and is expressed in a community of young adults and those on mission to reach young adults. We gather weekly for corporate worship on Sunday nights at 6pm, meet in groups around the city throughout the week, and serve our neighbors locally and globally with the grace and truth of Jesus. Young adults What to Expect The Young Adults service meets for worship and teaching from God’s Word on Sunday nights at 6pm at 2435 Colorado Blvd., followed by The Café where young adults can hang out and fellowship after service. Connect Life Groups Life groups are small gatherings that meet in person or online to share life, discuss the Bible, and pray for one another. We have groups specifically for young adults (ages 18-35). Join A Young Adults Life Group Check out our available Life Groups. You can search by meeting day, location and type. When you find a group that interests you, contact the group. Visit as many groups as you want until you find the perfect fit! View Groups Frequently Asked Questions About Life Groups Where do Life Groups meet? Most of our Life Groups meet in the leaders’ homes, but we also have groups that meet in offices, parks, coffee shops, and online. What do you do in a Life Group? Every Life Group is unique -- Some discuss the weekend message or study a specific book of the Bible. Some study a topic like prayer or kingdom. Some serve together in the community. Some gather together for a meal -- BUT there are a few things you’ll find in every Life Group: prayer, the Bible, Christ-centered relationships, and conversations that help people grow in faith. Is it ok to visit or join more than one Life Group? Yes, that’s definitely ok! Feel free to visit as many groups as you’d like until you find one that is a good fit. While most people choose just one Life Group to regularly participate in, you are welcome to join more than one group if your schedule allows. How do I start my own Life Group? We are always looking for leaders who want to start groups and help people follow Jesus together. In addition to the character and service commitments of a Young Adults Leader, Life Group Leaders are expected to spiritually care for their group, communicate with their group, and facilitate/lead the group meetings. Young Adults Life Group Leaders are expected to communicate humbly, kindly, and promptly with their groups and Young Adults Staff. If you are interested in being a Leader, don't let anything stop you. Talk with a pastor about what it might look like to start a group! Or you can fill out a New Leader Application. Finding Hope Through Grief: A 7-Day Devotional Guide Grieving the loss of a loved one is one of the most challenging experiences we face in life. It can feel overwhelming, isolating, and even disorienting. However, you are not alone. The Through the Valley guide is a 7-day devotional designed to help you navigate the grief journey, providing comfort, encouragement, and practical steps for healing. What to Expect in the Guide This devotional walks you through seven important aspects of grief: 1. Preparing for Grief – Understanding what to expect and how to begin the grieving process. 2. Beginning to Grieve – Acknowledging your emotions and allowing yourself to feel the loss. 3. Coping with Anger – Addressing anger, frustration, and unanswered questions. 4. Bargaining with God – Processing regrets and missed opportunities. 5. Dealing with Depression – Recognizing sadness as part of the journey and learning to find joy again. 6. Living with Acceptance – Embracing the new normal while honoring your loved one’s memory. 7. Moving Forward Unfinished – Finding purpose in your grief and learning to support others in their journey. Each day includes guided prayers, scripture readings, journaling exercises, and action steps to help you process grief in a healthy, faith-centered way. Why This Guide is Important Grief does not have a set timeline, and healing is a deeply personal journey. The Through the Valley guide encourages you to take your time, lean on God, and seek support from loved ones and your faith community. By committing to this process, you can gain strength from God’s word, find comfort in prayer, and develop practical coping strategies that allow you to move forward while still cherishing the memories of your loved one. Download the Full Guide For a more in-depth journey through grief, you can download the Through the Valley guide . This resource offers structured devotionals, writing exercises, and additional scriptures to help you navigate each stage of grief at your own pace. You don’t have to go through grief alone—allow this guide to be a companion as you walk through the valley and into healing. Make A Decision for Jesus Begin a New Life of Faith God loves you and wants you to live in the peace and freedom of His love. That is what Jesus Christ, the Son of God, made possible for you. He died to free you from the guilt of your sins, and rose again to offer you new life with God. Romans 10:9-10 "If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." If you’ve been living apart from God, and you’re ready to be forgiven and begin a new life with God’s help, then you can do that right now by believing in Jesus. Believing in Jesus means receiving Jesus as your Savior and following Him as Lord of your life. Decide to believe and follow Jesus. Admit Admit to God that you’re a sinner in need of a Savior, and ask for His forgiveness of your sins. Believe Believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again to pay the penalty for your sins and give you new life with Him. Choose Choose to say a prayer acknowledging your genuine need for God, your belief in Jesus, and your new commitment to follow Him in a new way of life. If you’re ready to take this step, here’s an example of what you can pray: Heavenly Father, I come to you as a sinner in need of a Savior. I believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died so I could be forgiven. I believe He rose again so I can follow Him in a new life with help from your Holy Spirit. I receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord of my life. Thank you for forgiving my sins. Lead me by your Spirit to live your way according to your word. In the name of Jesus, Amen. If you prayed that prayer and have decided to follow Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you’ve received the gift of eternal life, and you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you! Congrats Did you make a decision to believe and follow Jesus? Let us know so we can encourage and support you in your new life of faith.
