Our vision is to point creatives to their Creator, so they become fully alive followers of Jesus. Whether you’re exploring faith, coming back to church, or just trying to figure out what you believe, you’re welcome here. No pressure. No pretending. We believe church should be more than something you attend — it should be a community that shows up for the city. That’s why we’re committed to serving San Francisco in practical ways, creating space for people to belong, and bringing hope to our neighborhoods through the love of Jesus. At Canvas, you’ll find authentic people, thoughtful teaching rooted in Scripture, and a community committed to practicing the way of Jesus in the real world. About Us Get to know more about what makes us different. Canvas Church is a community in San Francisco helping people find and follow Jesus — with honesty, hope, and a deep belief that God is still at work in real lives. Our vision is to point creatives to their Creator, so they become fully alive followers of Jesus. At Canvas, you’ll find authentic people, thoughtful teaching rooted in Scripture, and a community committed to practicing the way of Jesus in the real world. Our Beliefs This is what we beliveve. Jesus Jesus isn’t just a good teacher — He’s the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the one person who can actually make us new. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we find forgiveness, freedom, and real life. The Bible We believe the Bible is trustworthy, honest, and alive — not just an ancient book, but God speaking to us today. It shows us who God is, who we are, and how to live with purpose. Grace You don’t earn your way to God. You don’t clean yourself up first. Grace is God’s love freely given — and it’s what changes everything. We’re saved by Jesus, not by trying harder. The Church + Mission The Holy Spirit We believe the Holy Spirit is God with us and within us — not an abstract idea, but a real presence. The Spirit comforts, convicts, guides, and empowers us to live like Jesus. We also believe the gifts of the Spirit are for today, and that God still moves in powerful, personal ways. Humanity We believe every person is created in the image of God, which means there’s original goodness and value in all of us. While we’re imperfect and in need of a Savior, we honor the dignity of every human being — regardless of beliefs, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, nationality, or background. Everyone matters to God. Justice Salvation We believe Christianity isn’t about making bad people good — it’s about dead people coming alive. Salvation is a gift of grace through Jesus, not something we earn. When we trust Him, we’re forgiven, made new, and invited into a life of freedom, purpose, and wholeness. The church isn’t a building — it’s people. We’re called to live like Jesus in everyday life: loving our neighbors, serving our city, and bringing hope wherever we go. We exist to help people take real steps toward faith and wholeness. We believe justice matters to God — not as a trend, but as part of His heart. Jesus calls us to love our neighbors, stand with the overlooked, and work for a world where people are treated with dignity and fairness. We pursue justice with humility, courage, and compassion — because faith should show up in how we live and how we love. Our Beliefs This is what we beliveve. Meet the team committed to helping you belong, grow, and come alive in Jesus. Travis Clark Founding Pastor Travis loves helping creatives discover Jesus and come alive in Him. He’s been married to Jena for 20 years, is a proud dad to Finley, and is probably the biggest Warriors fan and coffee lover you’ll ever meet. Jena Clark Founding Pastor Jena brings warmth, creativity, and a deep love for people into everything she does. When she’s not investing in the Canvas community, you’ll find her enjoying Disney, dreaming about the beach, or working on a good puzzle. Ethan Larios Worship Director Ethan leads worship at Canvas with joy, passion, and authenticity. When he’s not making music, he’s probably out for a run, quoting Star Wars, or spending time with his wife, Alyssa. Lydia Cruz Next Step + City Serve Director Lydia helps Canvas feel like home through Next Step and loves serving San Francisco through City Serve. During the week she works at Google and SoulCycle, and on the weekend you can usually find her chasing a great brunch with friends. Meet the team.
