Library staff issue photo ID cards to current students, staff and faculty for free during library business hours. Photo ID cards are required for checking out library materials . To receive a photo ID students must: visit the Library Photo ID Office or Check Out / Reserves Desk or the Welcome Center in SS 103. provide photo identification (Driver's License, passport, etc) provide your Citrus College WingSpan Number be currently registered ID cards can be obtained 24 hours after students have registered for courses. Please remember to always carry your Citrus photo ID with you. All students currently enrolled in at least one credit-unit are eligible to receive a GoPass, a reusable electronic TAP sticker that attaches to the Citrus College ID card which allows students to ride Foothill Transit local bus lines, Silver Streak lines and/or the Metro bus and rail for free. The new GoPass provides unlimited free ride credits to students on Metro and participating bus lines through the end of the current term. These services include assessing student skills, exploring majors, identifying career goals and selecting appropriate classes. The center provides a variety of specialized services throughout the matriculation process. The Counseling and Advisement Center is located on the second floor of the Student Services Building . Counselors assist with long-range planning and checking specific requirements so that students meet graduation requirements, course prerequisites and requirements for transfer to four-year colleges or universities. Numerous college programs also offer counseling services to meet specific or targeted needs or goals — the program or discipline-specific counseling services include athletics, CalWORKs, Career/Transfer Center, career and technical education, DSPS, EOPS/CARE, NextUp, visual and performing arts, international students, nursing, STEM and veteran services. Appointments, Overview Appointment Scheduling and First Time Students Appointment Options APPOINTMENTS, OVERVIEW Students meet with a counselor or advisor during an individual appointment session. Services include academic and transfer counseling, creating a Student Education Plan (SEP) , graduation checks and checking requirements for transfer to a four-year university. Appointments through the Counseling and Advisement Center are recommended for students who have declared a course of study (major) on the Citrus College application or via the student portal . If you have not chosen a major or would like assistance in choosing a major, please schedule an appointment with a career counselor . Official high school and college transcripts must be on file or brought to the appointment (if applicable). Prerequisites can be cleared with an unofficial transcript so long as a grade of "C" or better is posted. Students are encouraged to fill-out and submit the online prerequisite clearance form . Students wishing to use AP test score credit to clear a prerequisite need to submit the AP credit request form . (Students may also challenge a prerequisite through the prerequisite challenge process in admissions and records .) To schedule an appointment, please use the online appointment scheduling system or call the Counseling and Advisement Center at (626) 914-8530. APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING AND FIRST TIME STUDENTS First Time Students First time students may receive an error message when using the online appointment system. If you have never met with a counselor, please contact the Counseling and Advisement Center at (626) 914-8530 for assistance BEFORE using the online appointment scheduler. A message can also be submitted using this Smartsheet online form. Before Scheduling an Appointment Before scheduling an appointment with a counselor, all new students MUST complete the New Student Orientation online. Transcripts To initiate the transcript evaluation process, please complete the online request form as outlined on the my.citruscollege.edu portal . Please note the transcript evaluation process can take up to four to six weeks. If you encounter any issues or have questions about the process, please call the Counseling and Advisement Center. If you have other college transcripts, please submit them to admissions and records . [email protected] (626) 914-8825 The main purpose of the Citrus Alumni and Friends Association is to support and promote the interests of Citrus alumni. The association aims to foster goodwill within the community, raise scholarship funds for Citrus students, assist alumni from Citrus Union High School and Citrus College in planning reunions and help with special projects that benefit Citrus College. MEET OUR DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI CONTRIBUTIONS, HOW YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT The association has supported various projects to help Citrus College, including funding new campus lighting, campus landscape and program funds for the disabled student program. Buy-A-Brick Memorial Project Citrus alumni and college friends may purchase engraved bricks to memorialize a loved one or to recognize achievement. The bricks are installed around the campus fountain located in the center of campus. Cost for each brick is $200. Submit the Buy-A-Brick form online . Distinguished Alumni Award Each year at commencement, the Citrus Alumni and Friends Association presents former Citrus students who have achieved success in their lives with the Citrus Distinguished Alumni Award. Submit your nomination via an online form . Scholarship Program The Alumni and Friends Association awards a number of scholarships to continuing and transferring Citrus College students: the Merrill West Memorial Scholarship, Ross Handy Memorial Scholarship and Jim Henderson Memorial Scholarship. REGISTRATION GUIDANCE Registration guidance is recommended for students who need assistance with registration errors or registering for classes online. Online Registration, Registration Errors Your Citrus College registration is completed entirely online. You can add classes following your registration date and time using your online account. To log in, you need your username and password. If you are having account access issues, submit a request for assistance . Take a moment to review common registration errors and resolutions on the admission and records Zendesk ancillary site. Petitioning, Waitlists, Authorization Codes If you are attempting to add a class and you are asked for an authorization code , it means the class is full or not available for registration because the class has already begun. Once class has begun, an authorization code is required (even if the class has open seats). Distribution of these codes is at the discretion of the faculty member, and it is generally done on the first day of class. If a class is full, you may have the option of adding your name to the waitlist . When you are on a waitlist (or waitlists) , you must check your Citrus College email and student account portal messages regularly. If a spot opens up for you, a notification will appear in your email messages. If you are on a waitlist , you will need to attend the first class meeting to obtain an authorization code. If the class meets entirely online, you should email the instructor and inquire about an add code. STUDENT HELP CENTER Students who need assistance with admissions and records or financial aid may access the 24/7 online student support help center , located on the enrollment services' Zendesk ancillary site. The Help Center on Zendesk contains a knowledge base containing hundreds of articles, as well as assistance request forms for the aforementioned areas. PRIOR TO YOUR FIRST DAY Prior to the first day of class, be certain to do the following. Check your email regularly for announcements and updates. Review the class schedule to determine: if your class meets on campus or online. if your online class is synchronous or asynchronous. Synchronous learning is interactive, two-way online or distance education that happens in real time with an instructor. Asynchronous learning occurs virtually online and through prepared resources, without real-time instructor-led interaction. Familiarize yourself with building locations and room numbers of classrooms if taking classes on campus. Review your financial aid status . Become familiar with available student programs and services . The first step in applying for credit admission is creating a CCCApply account and submitting the CCCApply application for Citrus College. Please fulfill this three-step account creation process below BEFORE completing your credit admission application to Citrus College. INTERNATIONAL AND NONCREDIT STUDENTS IF YOU ARE AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT International students follow a separate application and admission process through the International Student Center. Please review the international application and requirements on the International Student Center's website before applying. IF YOU ARE A NONCREDIT STUDENT Students planning to take only noncredit classes (zero-unit or "free" courses) must apply through the Noncredit Education and Registration page for the appropriate process. Please note that credit students may enroll in both credit and noncredit courses, while noncredit students may enroll in noncredit courses only. STEP 1. CREATE A CCCAPPLY ACCOUNT and APPLY TO CITRUS COLLEGE To begin, you must create a create a NEW user account with CCCApply and submit the CCCApply application for Citrus College. A personal email address (such as Gmail or Yahoo) is required . Your CCCApply account uses the OpenCCC single sign-on system, which provides secure access to California Community Colleges online services. All information in your account is kept private and protected. STEP 2. CHECK EMAIL FOR CONFIRMATION AND WELCOME LETTER After you submit your account application in CCCApply, check your personal email for a confirmation receipt. Within two business days, you'll receive your Citrus ID number and welcome letter. Be sure to save or print your CCCApply confirmation page for your records. STEP 3. COMPLETE THE APPLY AND REGISTER STEPS Once you receive your Citrus College ID, follow the steps to apply and register to complete enrollment.
