City Council Members are elected by-district for a four year term. Council Members serve "staggered" terms, meaning that either two (2) or three (3) seats are open for election every two years. Council Members may serve no more than two consecutive (four year) terms. Municipal elections are held the first Tuesday in November of even numbered years, with three Council members selected at one election and two at the next. Service on the Council is limited to two consecutive full terms. The Council is the legislative policy making branch of City government. City Council is responsible for enacting ordinances, resolutions and orders necessary for governing the affairs of the City; approving or amending the annual budget; authorizing contracts on behalf of the City; acting as the final appeal body on rulings of commissions; and appointing the City Manager, City Attorney, and members of commissions and/or committees. About the Mayor Each year, the Council elects one of its members to serve as Mayor and one as Mayor Pro Tem for a one-year term. The Mayor serves as the official representative of the City for all legislative and ceremonial purposes. Our City is rich in history and is popular for surfing, tide pool exploration, walking, and ocean enjoyment. Baby Beach in Dana Point is a calm, family-friendly spot inside Dana Point Harbor. Its shallow waters and sandy shore make it perfect for kids and beginner swimmers, with nearby amenities like restrooms, picnic areas, and easy access to paddleboarding and kayaking.     Capistrano Beach , along the scenic stretch of coast in south Dana Point, offers volleyball, basketball, cycling, and other beach activities. During the summer months, a concession stand offers fishing gear, food and beverages, and beach supplies.   Doheny State Beach   features over one mile of sandy coast and some of the best swimming and surfing in California. During low tide, tide pools are perfect for exploring. A campground features 121 developed family campsites and the picnic area has 170 picnic tables and 99 barbecue grills.     Salt Creek Beach  is also a popular surfing location. A small, offshore reef creates some of the best left swells along the entire shoreline. Swimming, body surfing, sunbathing and tide pool exploration provide fun for everyone. The park consists of sandy beaches, rocky promontories, and sheer cliffs. The original ravine canyon locally known as Salt Creek, forms the northerly boundary of the beach. Grading and landscaping have been completed in such a manner as to blend with the natural features, leaving the beach and cliff area basically undisturbed. Beach facilities can be reached from Ritz Carlton Dr. off Pacific Coast Highway.     Strands Beach offers a picturesque stretch of sandy shoreline nestled below scenic bluffs in Dana Point. Known for its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere, it’s a favorite spot for sunbathing, swimming, and surfing. The beach features convenient access points, restrooms, and nearby picnic areas. A gift from the Global Data Registry

When the Global Data Registry crawled https://www.danapoint.org/, we found no structured data — the language AI systems use to understand and describe a business online.

Schema is how ChatGPT, Google, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity know what your business does and how to describe you accurately to your customers. Without it, AI systems are guessing.

The most important field in this block is sameAs — a verified edge connecting your website to your permanent record at the Global Data Registry. This is a free, confirmed link to a real verified source. It costs nothing and gives your website a confirmed node in the graph that AI systems traverse when building answers about your business.

Copy the block below and paste it into the <head> of your website. Or drop it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and ask it to extend it with your full business details — that is the fastest path to a complete schema record.

▶   What is schema?

Schema is a standard vocabulary maintained at schema.org that lets websites describe themselves in a language machines can read. When you add schema to your website, you are telling AI systems, search engines, and knowledge graphs exactly what your business is and how it connects to the rest of the web.
