Every year in March, health and nutrition experts share knowledge and tips to help individuals and families make informed food choices. National Nutrition Month is also an opportunity for DPSS to highlight the benefits of the CalFresh Program, which helps increase the food-buying power of low-income residents to purchase enough food to meet their household needs. In keeping with the spirit of this year’s theme, "Discover the Power of Nutrition,” DPSS will help share the many benefits of developing and maintaining healthy routines, such as replacing sugary drinks with water, reading food labels to monitor sodium intake, and cooking more meals at home. Throughout the month, DPSS will use its social media platforms and Essential DPSS newsletter to reach a wider audience to promote local food banks and other resources. The department encourages residents to follow and support the campaign by sharing the #PowerofNutrition, #ChooseCalFresh, and #DPSSNNM2026 hashtags. Additional information on applying for CalFresh can be found on the DPSS Food and Nutrition webpage , or by subscribing to the weekly Essential DPSS Newsletter on the County of L.A. website. COUNTY RESIDENTS ACCESS CRITICAL SUPPORT WHEN THEY NEED IT DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SOCIAL SERVICES LAUNCHES EFFORT TO HELP L.A. COUNTY RESIDENTS ACCESS CRITICAL SUPPORT WHEN THEY NEED IT In an effort to promote its core programs and connect residents with the support they need during times of hardship, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) will launch August Essential Services Month—a focused digital outreach campaign to reach residents who may not be aware of the programs or how to apply for them. As one of 58 county social services agencies in California, DPSS provides essential assistance to eligible L.A. County residents, including help with food, healthcare, cash aid, employment support, and in-home care for elderly, blind, or disabled individuals. DPSS will use its digital platforms—including the weekly Essential DPSS resource newsletter, social media accounts, and hundreds of poster ads donated by LA Metro, to highlight services and show residents how to apply. Outreach materials will be available in multiple languages to serve the County’s diverse communities and will include direct links to dedicated websites and video guides with step-by-step instructions on how to apply for benefits. The department will also share critical information about local job fairs and other free community resources to help improve the quality of life for L.A. County residents. DPSS encourages all L.A. County residents to share this information to ensure that those most in need are informed, supported, and empowered. To stay informed with the month-long campaign, visit the DPSS website or follow the department on Facebook , Instagram , X (formerly Twitter) , and YouTube . © 2026 DPSS Site. This year, outreach efforts will emphasize the importance of helping residents understand how U.S. House of Representatives 1 (H.R. 1) bill policy changes will impact eligibility, reporting, and renewal requirements for the CalFresh Program. CalFresh is California’s version of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which DPSS administers in L.A. County. The program provides food assistance to those who meet the federal income requirement for eligibility. Approximately 1.5 million L.A. County residents are currently enrolled in CalFresh. Additionally, more than 320,000 residents may be eligible for the program but are currently not receiving the benefit. May’s CFAM campaign will focus on providing clear and accurate information to help residents apply for and remain enrolled in CalFresh. Staying informed and acting early can help customers keep their benefits. The campaign will raise awareness of, and explain federal policy implemented on January 1 that affects CalFresh eligibility for certain non-citizens, specifically, refugees, asylees, parolees, and individuals with withheld deportation status. Individuals in these groups may no longer be eligible to receive CalFresh benefits. DPSS will also highlight information on new CalFresh work requirements. Starting June 1, adults 18 to 64 years old, who are able to work and do not have a dependent under the age of 14 in their CalFresh household, will be required to complete at least 20 hours per week, or 80 hours per month of approved work or training activities, to maintain CalFresh benefits beyond three months within a 36-month period. For details on work requirement exemptions and approved work and training activities, visit the DPSS Keep Your Benefits webpage . Residents are encouraged to support this year’s outreach efforts by following DPSS on social media and sharing information with individuals and families in their community who may benefit from CalFresh. To learn how H.R. 1 policy changes may affect new CalFresh applicants, visit the DPSS website , subscribe to the Essential DPSS newsletter, or follow the department’s official social media channels. © 2026 DPSS Site. A gift from the Global Data Registry

When the Global Data Registry crawled https://dpss.lacounty.gov/en.html, we found no structured data — the language AI systems use to understand and describe a business online.

Schema is how ChatGPT, Google, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity know what your business does and how to describe you accurately to your customers. Without it, AI systems are guessing.

The most important field in this block is sameAs — a verified edge connecting your website to your permanent record at the Global Data Registry. This is a free, confirmed link to a real verified source. It costs nothing and gives your website a confirmed node in the graph that AI systems traverse when building answers about your business.

Copy the block below and paste it into the <head> of your website. Or drop it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and ask it to extend it with your full business details — that is the fastest path to a complete schema record.

▶   What is schema?

Schema is a standard vocabulary maintained at schema.org that lets websites describe themselves in a language machines can read. When you add schema to your website, you are telling AI systems, search engines, and knowledge graphs exactly what your business is and how it connects to the rest of the web.
