ABOUT WEST EAST COMMUNITY ACCESS, INC. (WE CAN or WE CAN FOUNDATION)
Established in 1995 to address growing disparities in computerization between various segments of society, WEST EAST COMMUNITY ACCESS, INC., (Also known as WE CAN or WE CAN FOUNDATION), is a community-based response to the challenges of our modern multi-culture, techno-based, global society. WEST EAST COMMUNITY ACCESS, INC., (Also known as WE CAN or WE CAN FOUNDATION), is a not for profit 501(c3) corporation. Since establishment, WE CAN’s programs and projects have encompassed a range of activities, all with the common theme of expanding the application of computer- and communications-based technology.
WE CAN or WE CAN Foundation is a firm believer in the usage of technology to make the learning process easier. Clearing up a confusion a student has and solving a problem is as easy as taking a SELFIE PICTURE of that problem with a camera phone, then emailing or texting it to one of our available tutors. Long gone are the days in which a student has to physically meet with a tutor to get help. The help a student needs is now one SELFIE PICTURE way, which save time, gas, and frustration!!
Today's modern communication technologies allow our tutors to respond to student problems in two ways. Please visit our tutoing link for more information on the methods WE CAN uses to communicate with student over the internet.

HARD FACTS
The information below will show why WE CAN Services are really essential for our community!!
U.S. students’ academic achievement still lags that of their peers in many other countries
How do U.S. students compare with their peers around the world? Recently released data from international math and science assessments indicate that U.S. students continue to rank around the middle of the pack, and behind many other advanced industrial nations. One of the biggest cross-national tests is the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which every three years measures reading ability, math and science literacy and other key skills among 15-year-olds in dozens of developed and developing countries. The most recent PISA results, from 2015, placed the U.S. an unimpressive 38th out of 71 countries in math and 24th in science. Among the 35 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which sponsors the PISA initiative, the U.S. ranked 30th in math and 19th in science. Please click the link below for more information.

This makes 64-bit processors capable of handling more information simultaneously, leading to better performance and capabilities. Most modern computers and mobile devices use 64-bit processors, but some older devices still have 32-bit processors, which is why there are still 32-bit operating systems. Notably, Windows 11 doesn’t have a 32-bit version, making Windows 10 the last version to support these older processors. Likewise, Apple’s MacOS has completely dropped support for 32-bit applications, with both major computer platforms waving goodbye to 32-bit seemingly for good. NEWS ITEM TWO MONTH DAY, YEAR A 32-bit CPU is designed to handle data in 32-bit chunks, which means it can access 4,294,967,296 (2^32) individual memory locations, each with a unique address. However, the actual usable memory in 32-bit systems is often less than 4GB due to memory address space being reserved for other hardware devices such as GPUs. For example, if your GPU has 512MB of VRAM, you can only address 3.5GB of system RAM. In general, 64-bit CPUs can address much more memory than their 32-bit counterparts. A 64-bit CPU is designed to handle data in 64-bit chunks, allowing it to access 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 (2^64) individual memory locations, each with a unique address. Theoretically, a 64-bit CPU can address up to 16 exabytes (EB) of RAM. Each part of the eye stood for a certain fraction. The whole eye altogether was a shorthand representation of the higher mathematics that enabled the building of pyramids. The Eye of Horus was also a basic corner-stone of Egyptian religious and spiritual beliefs. The mathematical importance of the Eye of Horus was first recognized by the modern world with re-discovery in 1858 of The Rhind Mathematical Papyrus, an ancient Egyptian mathematics text for apprentice scribes. This papyrus tells us that the hekat was their unit of volume, used for measuring grain or flour (about 4.8 liters) to divide among the people. For smaller amounts, the hekat could be progressively halved to give 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, and 1/64. These are known as the "Horus-eye fractions" because they are written with symbols that resemble the parts of the right eye of the falcon-headed god Horus, also known as the "wedjat-eye". In Egyptian mythology, the eye of the god Horus was consumed by Seth, the fearsome dog-headed god of chaos. Later it was restored and made whole by the ibis-headed god Thoth, the mythical originator of mathematics, who "did this with his fingers". In modern mathematics, these fractions form what is known as a convergent geometrical progression of six terms, with the first term equal to the common ratio. The Egyptians understood that the sum of the series equaled 63/64. For them the missing 1/64 represented the realm of spiritual power that intangible quantity that was required to complete the whole; the invisible power that underlies, infuses, and influences everything in the universe. In ancient Egypt, the Eye of Horus was considered to be a symbol of great power, very useful for protection. The people wore it on amulets to fortify their bodies, placed it on the bows of their boats for celestial guidance, and painted it in pairs on their coffins to allow the deceased to see in the afterlife. Our own present-day "Rx" has its origins in the Eye, and is used by modern doctors and pharmacies everywhere to symbolize our current protections against life's perils. WE CAN adopted the Eye of Horus as its symbol in homage to this great founding civilization, and in recognition of their understanding that little is possible without the influence, wisdom, and guidance of the ever-present, yet unseen 1/64th. For us, it answers clearly the proverbial question: "Is the glass half-empty or is it half-full"? The glass is always full. Baba Clarence Eziokwu Washington to promote businesses and events in the Leimert Park Village and inside the African Diaspora as a whole. Rev. Washington saw the need for a centralized location in which people can visit to see what AfroCentric events are occurring in the Leimert Park Village and within the Southern California African Diaspora. Additionally, Rev. Washington saw the need for a company that could provide AfroCentric Tours to visitors. These visions occurred to Rev. Washington over 30 years ago. Unfortunately, he did not have the resources back then to make theses dreams a reality. Now he does!! FOSTERING AND EMBRACING PAN-AFRICANISM The fostering and embracing of Pan-Africanism are vital if the black race is to survive inside Africa and the African Diaspora. The Leimert Park AfroCentric Village, abbreviated as LPAV, firmly believes in doing its part to ensure the survival of Africans and the people of African ancestry all over the world. As such, the company helps organize and execute various Pan-African cultural events in the Leimert Park Village. One such event is the annual Belizean Caye Festival, which is a celebration and exposure of the Belizean-American and African-American culture to the entire world. [email protected] FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE South Los Angeles Leads City in Renewal of Parking Strips On September 11th WE CAN Foundation and the 60th Street Community come out to dig into parking strips for 21st Century conservation in South L. A. Los Angeles, CA, September 8, 2009: In honor of the ‘National Day of Service’ on September 11, the WE CAN Foundation is organizing the 60th Street community in urban Los Angeles to gather in street-fair fashion to dig in and advance conservation and urban renewal with its September 11th and 12th Planting a Little Piece of Paradise Parkway project. Recent achievements by L.A. City Mayor Villaraigosa and the Department of Water and Power with their water restrictions and energy usage programs demonstrate how much can be accomplished through a united city effort. Obviously, it is going to take more than local government programs and updating city water ordinances to get the job done. Everyone from entrepreneurs to students to home gardeners is taking an interest, and they’re not only envisioning a greener future for Los Angeles but figuring prominently in its creation. Few understand the value of collective effort in building a greener urban L.A. better than Michél McLaughlin, executive director of the WE CAN Foundation, sponsor of the September 11th event. According to McLaughlin, “Turf strips are a big problem. In LA alone, tens of thousands of acres are dedicated to this most imprudent of all land uses; throughout the US, the number probably approaches the millions. Narrow strips of land protracted between sidewalks and streets, expensive and challenging to maintain and now turning brown and ugly, are often called ‘hell strips’ can be changed to multi-storied micro-climates that optimize use, enrich soils, cleans and cools the air, preserves biodiversity; quiets urban bustle, and a great deal more.” McLaughlin calls sustainability a mandatory 21st century standard and WE CAN strives to set the bar for meeting this standard starting in South Los Angeles, by transforming one parking strip at a time. The 60th Street Planting a Little Piece of Paradise Parkway project is the first in the ambitious WE CAN mission to spearhead an urban renewal process toward: more sustainable land use; reduction and transformation of grassy strips and lawns; and development of urban micro-farms that will provide local supplies of low-cost healthy foods for inner-city communities. WE CAN has been active in the South LA community since 1995, bridging both the digital and cultural divides; providing free tutoring services to students under the No Child Left Behind Program; and a roster of programs that foster literacy, critical thinking, and the Arts. The Urban Farm Network Programs, of which the Planting a Little Piece of Paradise Parkway project is a part, are the foundation’s most recent body of work intended to promote green education, community action, and economic well-being.
