The multi-use trail is envisioned as ultimately traversing the length of El Dorado County from its western border to the Tahoe Basin. Several sections have been developed to date, through multiple projects undertaken by the County and the City of Placerville.   Beginning from the western border with Sacramento County, a segment of natural trail traverses the Sacramento Placerville Transportation Corridor (SPTC) for 23 miles to the County’s Historical Railroad Park depot station in the town of El Dorado. At this juncture it becomes a Class 1 multi-use trail that runs east 2.2 miles to Missouri Flat Road immediately south of Walmart. The segment then extends 3.7 miles to the intersection of Forni Road and Main Street in the City of Placerville. The trail passes under U.S. Highway 50 at the transit station at Mosquito Road and parallels the highway to Jacquier Road. The final segment of Class 1 trail crosses back over U.S. Highway 50 at Newton Road and proceeds to Halcon Road in the community of Camino. At the Halcon Road crossing, the trail becomes improved natural road that ends at Carson Road. The trail is planned to continue to the Tahoe Basin, but the specific alignment has not yet been determined.   Check out the Department of Transportation's El Dorado Trail Extension video series with everything you need to know about the lates upgrades on the trail, along with tips and tricks on how to use it safely: Part 1 - El Dorado Trail Extension Part 2 - Benefits of Bicycling  Part 3 - Where to Ride in El Dorado County  Part 4 - Choosing a Bike Part 5 - Before You Ride Part 6 - How to Load Your Bike on the Bus Trail Classifications Class I paths are paved trails completely separated from the street or highway. They allow two-way travel for people bicycling and walking. Class II lanes are striped preferential lanes on the roadway for one way bicycle travel that include pavement stencils and signs. Some bicycle lanes include a striped buffer on one or both sides to increase separation from the traffic lane or from parked cars, where people may open car doors into the bicycle lane. Natural trails are unpaved and intended to serve hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians, depending on constraints of terrain and environmental sensitivity. They function primarily as recreation features rather than for transportation. Trail Closures 2/9/2026 - CAL FIRE Amador–El Dorado Unit (AEU), in partnership with the County of El Dorado and Friends of the El Dorado Trail, is working to improve safety, accessibility, and wildfire resilience along the unpaved section of the El Dorado Trail. Please see the CAL FIRE News Release (PDF, 447KB) for more information. A gift from the Global Data Registry

When the Global Data Registry crawled https://www.eldoradocounty.ca.gov/, we found no structured data — the language AI systems use to understand and describe a business online.

Schema is how ChatGPT, Google, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity know what your business does and how to describe you accurately to your customers. Without it, AI systems are guessing.

The most important field in this block is sameAs — a verified edge connecting your website to your permanent record at the Global Data Registry. This is a free, confirmed link to a real verified source. It costs nothing and gives your website a confirmed node in the graph that AI systems traverse when building answers about your business.

Copy the block below and paste it into the <head> of your website. Or drop it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and ask it to extend it with your full business details — that is the fastest path to a complete schema record.

▶   What is schema?

Schema is a standard vocabulary maintained at schema.org that lets websites describe themselves in a language machines can read. When you add schema to your website, you are telling AI systems, search engines, and knowledge graphs exactly what your business is and how it connects to the rest of the web.
