The LCAP describes goals, actions, services, and expenditures that meet state and local priorities in serving students. Input from our educational partners is a key feature of LCFF. The district provided an LCAP Survey from March 4 through 29, 2024 to our educational partners via social media, the district website, and ParentSquare emails. The survey gathered community input regarding views on school climate and safety, areas of student success and challenges, quality of instruction and student supports, and opportunities for parental involvement, engagement and decision-making.  Additionally, the district provided the California Healthy Kids Survey- student, parent, and staff modules-to all educational partners via district website and ParentSquare emails from February 26 through March 1, 2024, which also gathered input regarding school connectedness, school climate indicators such as caring adults, safe and supportive learning environments, and parental involvement and decision-making. A 20 member LCAP Advisory Committee made up of parents, SELPA representatives, teachers, classified staff, DELAC representatives, district and site administrators met three times to review the results of the ThoughtExchange, relevant data (Annual Update), and provided input on goals, actions and services. DAC/DELAC representatives provided input on June 5, 2023.  The district invited all parent and community partners to provide valuable feedback on the 2024-2025 LCAP draft. It requires all local educational agencies (LEAs) to ensure that homeless students access the same free, appropriate public education, including public preschools, as provided to other children and youths. The McKinney-Vento Act defines LEAs as public school districts, direct-funded and locally funded charter schools, and county offices of education. The McKinney-Vento Act also authorizes federal Education for Homeless Children and Youths Program funding. Homeless Definition The McKinney-Vento Act defines homeless children and youths as individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. Transportation is the responsibility of the parents/guardians. Experienced, highly qualified, and licensed Early Childhood Instructors (1 instructor: 8 children ratio, maximum 24 children). Free for families who meet eligibility requirements; children with an IEP may exceed income requirements. Enrollment forms are collected on a year-round basis and students may enroll as space allows. 2025-2026 Preschool Academy Handbook  2025-2026 Preschool Academy Calendar 2025-26 Eligibility Questionnaire ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2026-2027 Enrollment Window Now Open Enrollment for the part-day State Preschool Program is now open! This program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and is free for families who qualify based on family size and monthly income. If you are interested, please complete and submit the eligibility questionnaire along with one month of your most recent income documentation. 2026-27 Eligibility Questionnaire Enrollment for the full-day State Preschool Program will open in July. At that time, interested families will need to complete and submit the eligibility questionnaire with one month of their most recent income. The full-day program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., based on family need. We need our community to show up and send a message: our students deserve properly maintained schools, and our team deserves a safe, permanent place to store the tools and materials required to make that happen. Every continued delay drains resources meant for our students' education. You can take action in one or both of the following ways: Option 1 — Attend the City Council Meeting Your presence matters. Join us on May 5 at 6:00 PM at City Council Chambers, 2000 Main Street. If you wish to speak, you will have the opportunity to provide public comment in support of the project. Option 2 — Email the City Council You can send an email asking the full City Council to uphold the Planning Commission's 6–1 approval at [email protected] . This project has been reviewed, studied, and approved twice, yet the delays in approval continue to cost our community money that should go toward students. Misconceptions vs. Facts MISCONCEPTION FACT ✗ This will bring constant noise, traffic, and industrial activity to a quiet neighborhood. ✓ The M&O team already operates from this site, currently outdoors in a parking lot.
