This body is a non-denominational, interracial, Bible Centered Christian Fellowship. Sunday services are held at 639 Drake Ave in Marin City / Sausalito. We also hold a weekly Bible study in Petaluma on Tuesday nights. In 2005 we changed our name from Marin City Church of God to Peoples' Inter-Cities Fellowship (PICF) as we believe this affords us greater latitude for ministry outreach. We value the family and encourage the entire family to worship with us.  Matthew 28:18-20 says, 18 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." While many people may believe that there are various ways to God, it is our belief from the Word of God that Jesus, the Savior, the Messiah is the door that one has to go through in order to be saved. Jesus did not just receive some power, but ALL power resides within Him; and incredibly, the Lord has offered us the tremendous privilege of partnering with Him to take the Gospel (the Good News) into the world. As believers in the Lord, we are commanded to love one another (Jn 13:34) but we must not confuse love with tolerating every thought and behavior of people that violates the clear teaching of God's Word. The word "love" has been used very loosely, but love actually requires that I do what is in the best interest of the person. Sometimes that means letting people know where they are wrong and trying to do it in such a way that people are not run off from the body of Christ. When we consider the ministry of Jesus, he showed love and compassion, but he also required repentance from sin. Even the woman caught in adultery in John 8, while Jesus spoke kind words to her in love, He also told her "Go, and sin no more." God has a standard and His standard is His Word. The Church, the Ecclesia (the called out ones) have the most unique opportunity afforded to individuals and that is planting and watering the Word of God in the lives of people. We must always remember, that God's passion is people and not things. Christ died for people and not objects.  If we are willing to share God's Word with people, then God will bring about change in the lives of people. She is a wife, a mother of two wonderful children and grandmother of 8. Michelle was educated at UCLA, and holds a Masters degree in Motion Picture animation. She is a business owner alongside her husband Jerry, in the field of electronics recycling. Michelle is a Jewish believer in Messiah Yeshua. She assists with worship leadership and takes great joy in singing in the Praise Team at PICF. She is also a singer/songwriter, sings and leads worship among Jewish believers throughout the Bay Area. June 20 2025 Posted By msmall On Friday, 20 June 2025 There is a fundamental question that has to be answered and that is Who is actually in control of the earth? Of course with a question such as this, it leads down a road where many people will ask many more questions. But the question begins to unfold more specifically where one places their hope or trust. When we don’t like the answer to questions, we often fudge the information, which actually amounts to lying in many cases, or we move in a direction that simply supports our belief system. Well, I do have a belief system and there is nothing wrong with supporting that belief system, especially if my premise is based on solid evidence. The Holy Bible has stood the test of man’s scrutiny for years and still remains above reproach. It has been the most studied, ridiculed, tested and retested book for ages and God’s Word has stood the test of times as factual. While some may not like the answers and while some answers may not be as clear as we would like, the Bible, which is God’s inspired Word is True – 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness…” Read more about Who Really is in Control? In fact, when the Lord delivered Israel out of Egypt, He painstakingly told them through Moses what He required. For whatever reason, we tend to think that laws and rules are meant to keep us down. What God was giving to His people was a formula for success, however, God’s people threw off His laws and requirements and began to worship other gods which eventually led to them going back into captivity, however, this time with Assyria and Babylon. He has served faithfully at the church for so many years. He is the husband of Melanie Small, a registered nurse, and the proud father of two children, Quinlan and Sherrell. In his secular work, Rev. Small is the Executive Director of the Center for Restorative Practice in San Rafael. In spite of his many responsibilities at PICF and the Center for Restorative Practice, Marcus volunteers at BAF and has been very involved in our ministry for the past three years. Today, we want to take a brief journey through passages of Deuteronomy 28 as well as a few other bible passages. Deuteronomy which means second law is a repeating of many of the laws in Exodus and the Decalogue (Ten Commandments) to the second generation of the Israelites poised to enter the “Promised Land.” The first generation has died in the wilderness due to sin and now the children or this second generation is hearing from Moses what God did and how he showed His great LOVE to the Israelites. Love is an action word and describes who God is. Too many people, when talking about love often try to define love based on their own emotional state. The Bible says that GOD IS LOVE (I Jn 4:8, 16). Love is not simply some feeling you experience, but Love describes who God is. Therefore, when you see God in scripture you see Him giving Himself to His people. Pastor Marcus grew up attending the Marin City Church of God (also called as of January 2005 "People's Inter-Cities Fellowship"). On May 15, 2013, Pastor Marcus became Senior Pastor of People's Inter-Cities Fellowship (PICF) after his father went home to be with the Lord. Pastor Marcus grew up in Marin City where he attended the local schools. He graduated from Redwood High School in 1979 and then attended the local community college, College of Marin (COM). Pastor Marcus graduated from COM with an AA degree in the Behavioral Sciences in 1981 and then transferred to San Francisco State University (SFSU) where he received his BA degree in Psychology in 1984. While attending COM & SFSU, Pastor Marcus was also taking Bible classes at the Southern Marin Bible Institute, where his brother-in-law, Pastor Dr. Emmanuel Akognon (pronounced Akoy yon) is the founder. In 1985, Pastor Marcus was accepted into the Clinical Psychology Program at SFSU where he graduated in 1987 with a M.S. in Clinical Psychology. In 1990, he was licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of CA. In 1987 Pastor Marcus was licensed as a Minister in the Church of God and in 1997 he was ordained by the Interstate Association of the Church of God. Pastor Marcus recalls that it was not always easy growing up as a preacher's kid, but says he has no regrets and is so glad that God allowed him the privilege of having parents who loved God and loved the family. Pastor Marcus accepted the Lord as a teenager one Sunday morning when Pastor Pointer delivered the message that day. Pastor Marcus says that he was the only one at the altar that morning (which almost lead to him not moving out of his seat) but the Lord helped him to overcome his fear. "I felt so different and I couldn't stop crying. I know that God changed my life that morning" Pastor Marcus says. Pastor Marcus loves the Lord and loves serving in ministry. In addition to his role as Senior Pastor, he currently plays the organ for the church after initially starting off playing the drums. Pastor Marcus is married to Melanie Small (Warren) and they have two children, Quinlan and Sherrell. His recordings were for his own personal use, but he recently gave me a copy of some of the songs that he recorded. The sound quality is not professional, but I wanted to honor my dad who is singing on some of the songs and playing the piano on some of the songs. The musicians at the time were Ronnie Small - Bass Player, Liam - Guitar, Mark Collins - Drums and Pastor Marcus Small - Organ. I thought it would be nice to just share in its raw form, a portion of the songs sang during devotion or when Pastor Fred Small was getting up to preach. Also when the Late Pastor Fred Small would get up to preach, we never knew what song he might just begin singing. Maria Muldaur who is a member of the church sings a couple of songs. In addition, Lynda Huff who came to visit us one Sunday sang a solo; and sis Florence sings one of her favorite songs, " I Woke up this morning ..." 1. I have two daughters, Tenika and Shemaiah and a grandson, Gabriel. My dad, the late Pastor Fred Small went to be with the Lord on May 15 2013. I serve under my brother, Senior Pastor Marcus Small. I play bass for the worship team and work closely with the ministerial staff. If you have never come to visit us, I encourage you and invite you to do so. This body is a non-denominational, interracial, Bible Centered Christian Fellowship. Sunday services are held at 639 Drake Ave in Marin City / Sausalito. We also hold a weekly Bible study in Petaluma on Tuesday nights. In 2005 we changed our name from Marin City Church of God to Peoples' Inter-Cities Fellowship (PICF) as we believe this affords us greater latitude for ministry outreach. We value the family and encourage the entire family to worship with us. Matthew 28:18-20 says, 18 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." While many people may believe that there are various ways to God, it is our belief from the Word of God that Jesus, the Savior, the Messiah is the door that one has to go through in order to be saved. Jesus did not just receive some power, but ALL power resides within Him; and incredibly, the Lord has offered us the tremendous privilege of partnering with Him to take the Gospel (the Good News) into the world. As believers in the Lord, we are commanded to love one another (Jn 13:34) but we must not confuse love with tolerating every thought and behavior of people that violates the clear teaching of God's Word. The word "love" has been used very loosely, but love actually requires that I do what is in the best interest of the person. Sometimes that means letting people know where they are wrong and trying to do it in such a way that people are not run off from the body of Christ. When we consider the ministry of Jesus, he showed love and compassion, but he also required repentance from sin. Even the woman caught in adultery in John 8, while Jesus spoke kind words to her in love, He also told her " Go, and sin no more ." God has a standard and His standard is His Word. The Church, the Ecclesia (the called out ones) have the most unique opportunity afforded to individuals and that is planting and watering the Word of God in the lives of people. We must always remember, that God's passion is people and not things. Christ died for people and not objects. If we are willing to share God's Word with people, then God will bring about change in the lives of people. May the Lord Bless you and keep you in His marvelous care. We are an Interracial Fellowship that welcomes people of every racial complexion (Acts 10:34 & 35). We are a Non-Denominational Church that fellowships with ALL Christians everywhere (Ephesians 4:4-6). We are a Church that believes in Holy Living and living in victory over sin (Romans 6:12-14; Leviticus 19:1 & 2). Pastor Small was diagnosed with a condition known as "Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis" which is a hardening or thickening of the lungs; there is no cure for this condition. Pastor Small's health declined rapidly before being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and when the diagnosis came he passed in less than two months after being told that he may have anywhere from four months to a year to live. He was excited with the thought of going home to be with the Lord. When I asked my father one day when we were alone talking if he was excited about going to Heaven, he smiled and said "Yes;" he was so excited about seeing the Lord and all the other saints that had preceded him in death. One of the great things about my dad and pastor was his love for people. When my siblings and I were growing up, all people were welcomed to come to our house on Sundays for dinner. This tradition continued each Sunday right up until the time that he passed. You could always find people enjoying sports, talking, eating, telling jokes, playing bid whist, getting into deep theological discussions and the list goes on and on. Pastor Small's love for the Lord, kept him serving God faithfully; he served as Senior Pastor of People's Inter-Cities Fellowship (formerly known as Marin City Church of God) for more than 54 years. In Early 1954, (his words) he married "his life-long sweetheart Cleola Lucille Jones." After 50 years of marriage, she went to be with the Lord her Savior on her birthday November 2, 2004. Together they raised four children: Ronnie Small, Alfreda Akognon, Robin Krueger and Marcus Small - who is now serving as Senior Pastor of People's Inter-Cities Fellowship (PICF). In 2007, Pastor Fred Small married Evelyn R. Clark. Pastor Small wrote a book about his life and it is only by the grace of God that he survived his childhood and lived to be 82 years of age. Clearly God had a plan for his life and there are many people who loved him and benefited from the ministry that God gave him.
