This club also has 30 members attending weekly meetings COURSE SYLLABUS and information COMMUNICATION AND LEADERSHIP TRAINING The Competent Communication Manual has 10 speech projects – Each project aims to work on a different aspect of speaking and leadership such as, organizing your speech, using your voice, gestures, body language, visual aids and so on.  Students are free to choose their topic and craft their speech using the principles highlighted in the manual projects. They practice their speech through the week with one on one coaching from their mentors and the club counselor and deliver it at the weekly meeting, where they get additional feedback from a student evaluator. Similarly, the Competent Leadership Manual also has 10 projects – each project consists of a specific leadership role that the student can take at a meeting – Leading the meeting as the Toastmaster, providing feedback as an evaluator, or taking an officer role. Communication Training One – on – One Coaching Children are coached one on one on their prepared speeches every week by adult club counselors and youth mentors to become effective speakers. Students also benefit from participating in the Annual JKYog Bay Area Speech Contest to test their skills and get feedback from experienced speech coaches in the Bay Area!
