In those days the membership could enjoy and participate in both the start and finish of the races. The divisions are Spinnaker, Non-Spinnaker, and Powered boat Predicted Log. The sailboat races are pursuit races, so called because the slowest boats start first and are “pursued” by the faster ones. This race is intended to be a fun event, bringing together the full range of our membership to witness and even engage in cheering on a favorite from the comfort of the club's lounge and dining room. The race is open to everyone and free for SYC members. The Perpetual Trophy was donated by life member Charles “Bud” Livingstone who got the jaws from his family's summer resort in New Hampshire where the jaws were on display from 1930 until 1983. Its provenance is a little mysterious in that one story claims the 10-foot blue shark was wrestled into a boat in Cuba by the donor and his fishing buddies; another version was that it was purchased at auction by Bud's father to add to the Livingstone Lodge antiques and curio collection. The race is typically held mid March. Our events are designed to facilitate new friendships and invite our introverts to mingle with our extroverts in way that help forge bonds and lifelong connections.  So, if you’re looking for a place where everybody knows your name, start spending time at The Club, join a committee, volunteer to help out, and check our events calendar frequently to get the scoop on current events. Our bar and galley are open after all races, providing a great venue for post-race analysis and bragging. We manage our events with an on-the-water  race committee  and resources that are second to none. In addition to club races we support other organizations including the MMBA (Master Mariners’ Benevolent Association), CBRA (Classic Boat Racing Association), Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association, and J105 Fleet 1. Our  year-round calendar   has races for seasoned campaigners and novice racers that include: Chili Midwinter series:  This monthly Sunday series from November through March is the perfect way to beat the winter blues, keep your race crew in trim, and introduce new members to the team. Complimentary chili back at the clubhouse warms you up following an afternoon on the water! Jaws Pursuit Race:  The first race of the Spring, start and finish off the club deck and race around San Francisco Bay. It’s a pursuit race with a low-stress staggered start and “simultaneous” finishes. SYC members compete for the “Jaws” trophy. Sign up, get competitive, improve your skills, and have fun on the water and back at the club. Twin Island Series:  Three races in April, July, and October with a “Bay Tour” course around Alcatraz and Angel Island.  You choose your direction around the islands with a club deck finish followed by “Island-style” festivities at the club.  As a tribute to our youthful club founders there are additional ‘junior crew trophies’ to be won. Thursday Night Sunset Series:  Eight races on alternate Thursday nights in Spring and Summer help set aside work pressures for mid-week competition, capped off with the drinks at the bar and burgers. The Spring Series starts late April and the Summer Series starts late July. SYC Auxiliary Woman Skipper’s Regatta:  Women-only at the helm, but you can have any mix of crew you like. This is a multi-division, single race regatta, aligned with Women’s Equality Day, and has courses suited to the wide variety of boats that take part. A lively post-race party at the club is always guaranteed. SYC Classic Boat Invitational Series:  A series for the elder statesmen of the CBRA; Birds, Bears, Knarrs, Folkboats and IODs in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Winter One Design Series:  Organized in conjunction with RegattaPRO this four-race series from November to February is targeted at the various J-fleets in the Bay along with some of their sporty cousins and allows skippers to keep their crews “race-ready” over the winter. Master Mariners Annual Regatta:  The Sausalito Yacht Club continues its long tradition of supporting this spectacular event on Memorial Day Weekend, supplying Mercury and the Race Committee to officiate. Approximately 70 wooden vessels from 19 to 122 feet and of traditional design and construction (most built before 1950) participate. The race begins at the City Front near the St Francis Yacht Club around noon and finishes off the east side of Treasure Island. Rear Commodore’s Race to Vallejo:  An excellent party at the Vallejo Yacht Club, preceded by a 20 mile downwind race / cruise from our home waters close to Angel Island in mid-June. Please use the Officer of the Day (OD) Form below or contact the Port Captain directly to register for dates. The Officer of the Day calendar shows what dates are available. It lists weekends, holidays and events when your clubhouse and dock have members who have registered to greet and guide guests. Please enter the dates below you’re able to serve as Officer of the Day. Unless otherwise noted, all shifts are from 1200 to 1700 hours. The Port Captain will confirm your assignment and add your name to the calendar. Once your shift is confirmed, you are responsible for that day. If you cannot make it, you’ll need to find a replacement. A simple way to search is to check with others on the calendar (contact information is available in the Member’s Area of this Web site) and offer to swap days. All OOD volunteers should review the  Duties and Responsibilities  document before serving.  Officer of the Day Signup Name: * SYC Member Number: * OD Date 1: Date and time Calendar Now OD Date 2: Date and time Calendar Now OD Date 3: Date and time Calendar Now OD Date 4: Date and time Calendar Now Email: * Phone: ( ) - First three digits Second three digits Last four digits Comments: Address 100 Humboldt Ave, Sausalito, CA 94965   Contact Phone: 415-332-7400 Email: [email protected] Navigation About Events On The Water Youth Sailing Weather/Cam Contact   Contact - Sausalito Yacht Club - Sausalito, CA Skip to content --> Member Login Logout About Membership Bar & Galley Menus Ship’s Store Auxiliary Squeegee Magazine Events Uncorked Speaker Series Event Photo Gallery Opening Day April 2024 St Patrick's Day - March 2024 Valentines Day 2024 Gavel Exchange January 2024 New Year's Day Potluck 2024 Commodores Ball, New Years Eve 2023 Annual Meeting 2023 Veterans Day 2023 Jaws Race 2023 Opening Day 2023 Roaring 20s Gala 2023 Portugal Night - 2022 St. Patrick's Day 2020 Private Events On The Water Race Race Calendar Race Committee Perpetual Trophies Cruise Port Our Dock The Mooring Field Officer of the Day Crew List Youth Sailing Summer Camp (Ages 5-18) After School Sailing Spring Fall High School Classes SYSF Scholarships Resources Weather/Cam Contact Page content Contact Us Dining Reservations Phone:  415-332-7400 x1 E-mail:   [email protected] with the subject line  RESERVATION Private Events Phone:  415-332-7400 x3 E-mail:   [email protected] with the subject line  PRIVATE EVENT Phone Extensions Main phone: 415-332-7400 x1  Restaurant x2  Accounting and Treasurer x3  General Manager and Private Events x4  Junior Sailing Directors, Officers and Chairs Contact Information Flag Officers and Chairs Executive Board Address 100 Humboldt Avenue Sausalito, California 94965 Phone: 415.332-7400 Fax: 415.332-9058 E-mail:  [email protected] Location 37° 51′ 23.52″ N, 122° 28′ 41.83″ W We’re located right next to the Sausalito Ferry Landing and the Vina del Mar Plaza at the intersection of Bridgeway and Tracy Way in downtown Sausalito. A gift from the Global Data Registry

When the Global Data Registry crawled http://www.sausalitoyachtclub.org/, we found no structured data — the language AI systems use to understand and describe a business online.

Schema is how ChatGPT, Google, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity know what your business does and how to describe you accurately to your customers. Without it, AI systems are guessing.

The most important field in this block is sameAs — a verified edge connecting your website to your permanent record at the Global Data Registry. This is a free, confirmed link to a real verified source. It costs nothing and gives your website a confirmed node in the graph that AI systems traverse when building answers about your business.

Copy the block below and paste it into the <head> of your website. Or drop it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and ask it to extend it with your full business details — that is the fastest path to a complete schema record.

▶   What is schema?

Schema is a standard vocabulary maintained at schema.org that lets websites describe themselves in a language machines can read. When you add schema to your website, you are telling AI systems, search engines, and knowledge graphs exactly what your business is and how it connects to the rest of the web.
