At a district or county office, the Emergency Operating Center (EOC) is activated at the onset of an emergency situation. The EOC Director is responsible for policy and overall coordination. All emergency response planning should include provisions for those with disabilities or special needs. General Services includes the following operational areas: facility maintenance and operations, on and off-site custodial, real estate leases; initiates and directs construction projects; and school bus transportation. Construction Services Construction Services is responsible for all capital projects. They oversee all new construction, renovation, and special projects. These responsibilities include; coordinating facility resources for all Santa Clara County Office of Education programs and divisions. Maintenance and Operations Maintenance and Operations is responsible for coordinating the planning, organizing, monitoring, and implementation of a variety of maintenance initiatives for all Santa Clara County Office of Education sites and programs. In addition Maintenance and Operations facilitates the use of outside service providers such as landscapers, elevator maintenance services, security services, water treatment services, locksmiths, movers, utilities, and recycling services. It also interacts with government agencies, to maintain compliance with State, Local, and Federal Regulations. These agencies include local fire departments, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the Department of Environmental Health. Custodial Services Custodial Services is responsible for cleaning and maintaining Santa Clara County Office of Education offices, classrooms, and meeting spaces throughout Santa Clara County. Custodial Services strives to provide clean and safe environments for all students and staff of the Santa Clara County Office of Education. Transportation Services Transportation Services provides specialized transportation services for approximately 55 special needs students, residing in Licensed Group homes and Hospital facilities, to 20 school sites in Santa Clara County, within an area of 1312 square miles.
