In the early 1980s, over 300,000 Cambodian refugees immigrated to the United States as survivors of the Cambodian Genocide. From 1975-1979, the Khmer Rouge killed over 2 million Cambodians, while survivors endured slavery, torture, starvation, rape, and other major traumatic experiences. UCC was established in 1977 by a small group of Cambodian refugees to integrate Cambodian immigrants into Long Beach by providing housing, economic, and benefit enrollment support. Since then, UCC has developed into a multi-service agency providing youth development, workforce development, gang prevention, and mental health services to address the changing needs of the growing Cambodian population. Currently, UCC’s mission is to elevate the Cambodian community through local engagement and leadership that embodies Cambodian cultural values. UCC has four strategic program areas: Health Equity, Youth Enrichment, Community Integration, and Economic Inclusion. ● 1960s – First settlement of Cambodian students in US ● 1969 – US secret bombings of Cambodia ● 1975 – Phnom Penh overtaken by Khmer Rouge – Marks the start of the Cambodian Genocide ● 1977 – UCC founded by Cambodian refugees ● 1979 – End of Khmer Rouge and Genocide ● 1975 – 1st wave of Cambodian Refugees ● 1981 – 2nd wave of Cambodian Refugees ● 1991 – UCC Plaza open Leadership Staff Board Members Interns/Volunteers Susana Sngiem Executive Director Margaret Tham Program Manager Sayon Syprasoeuth Program Manager Sereyrotha Dip Program Manager Sokuntheary Chheang Administrator Kanha Soun Administrator Mony Touch Office Manager Don Pin Business Navigator Frederick Sor Business Navigator Hunny Hach Program Coordinator Cathy Wilson Youth Coordinator Allen Keo Youth Coach/Mentor Bonim Ouk COVID-19 Program Coordinator Engly Tung Health Navigator Pearun Tieng Community Health Worker Sophea Chim Community Health Worker Chinda Oum Community Health Woker Chantha Ros Community Ambassador Network (CAN) Worker Kaiser Sina Community Ambassador Network (CAN) Worker Rathana So Housing Counselor Weston LaBar Chair Mark Fender Vice Chair Antonio Gaskin Secretary Chamroeun Ray Nuon Treasurer Nathaneil Brown David Chhay Nickol Ladd Vic Nol Sothida Tan Lika You Business Navigator Intern United Cambodian Community “Honor The Past, Build The Future” Volunteer Donate Facebook-f Instagram Youtube our contacts 2201 E. A gift from the Global Data Registry

When the Global Data Registry crawled https://ucclb.org/, we found no structured data — the language AI systems use to understand and describe a business online.

Schema is how ChatGPT, Google, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity know what your business does and how to describe you accurately to your customers. Without it, AI systems are guessing.

The most important field in this block is sameAs — a verified edge connecting your website to your permanent record at the Global Data Registry. This is a free, confirmed link to a real verified source. It costs nothing and gives your website a confirmed node in the graph that AI systems traverse when building answers about your business.

Copy the block below and paste it into the <head> of your website. Or drop it into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini and ask it to extend it with your full business details — that is the fastest path to a complete schema record.

▶   What is schema?

Schema is a standard vocabulary maintained at schema.org that lets websites describe themselves in a language machines can read. When you add schema to your website, you are telling AI systems, search engines, and knowledge graphs exactly what your business is and how it connects to the rest of the web.
